domestic fluff gliyeraba is literally my brain cell right now. they do laundry and taxes together. literally any chore that can be done together, they do together. things get done three times as fast that way!

dishes? one washer, one rinser, one dryer. (fiyero, glinda, elphaba, respectively) (elphaba drying because water)

house cleaning? one sweeper, one mopper, one polisher (elphaba, fiyero, glinda) (elphaba sweeping because broom lmao)

laundry? one washer, one folder, one to put things away. (fiyero, elphaba, glinda)

cooking is different. i feel like glinda can't cook to save her life. so elphaba and/or fiyero does all the cooking, glinda does the prep work like chopping vegetables and stuff

taking notes from a certain farmer au, i feel like they'd grow a lot of their own food if space allowed it. otherwise, lots of shopping would probably be done at a farmer's market or something. (that's an elphaba influence. why spend money supporting big business when you can get better quality produce AND support local farmers?) grocery store visits are few and far between, just to get snacks for celebrations and stuff. fiyero likes to ride in the shopping cart.

if farm raised food is a thing that would change the cooking dynamic. elphaba grows the food, glinda preps, fiyero cooks.

this got very very very rambly and i wish i knew how to write poly dynamics better cause i'd be so down to write some modern au gliyeraba ficlets if i wasn't so scared of misinterpreting the dynamic

hi bannedfromtheaters. long time subscriber first time caller. I first got familiar with your work through the carmilla videos and rapidly you became one of my fav video essayists in the biz. the Wicked one is one of the best analysis I've seen on youtube and I have watched it at least 1.5 times every year since you released it. the one that holds a special place in my heart, however, is the one on Deaf representation in mainstream media which just 🤌🏼 it's just 🤌🏼 sooo good. anyway, I just want to say I love all your work and I wish you peace, health and success on 2025. ✨🎉🫰🏼

Firstly, I can't even believe you stuck around since the Carmilla days!! And thank you for such high praise for my Wicked video!

But most of all, it feels so good to hear someone actually say my Portraying Deaf Characters on Screen video meant so much to them!! I worked so damn hard on that video. From the way to code subtitles to go on top of the screen, to being mindful of the amount of music I put in, to the analysis and the new pixel art style I was incorporating fully for the first time (the Imogen & Laudna vid was a trial run so to speak).

I was so proud of the Deaf representation video, and then... it absolutely bombed on YouTube, views-wise. And it still hurts, tbh. And it's even shitter because YouTube can have such a way of affecting how you look at your own work, y'know? Suddenly you just start to self-doubt if the video was any good at all.

So yeah, it means the absolute world to me that it holds a special place in your heart!! Messages like these genuinely turn my feelings towards the video back to more positive and remind me why I was proud of that video in the first place!

(Also, I hope you don't mind I published your ask regardless, but I really need to have this message on my dash as a reminder that views aren't everything).

I have a very... strange music taste as of late. some songs (cliff's edge, ode to freedom, without you without them, i get it now) have been chapter songs for per aspera so it makes sense they are on repeat.

url change from bannedfromzoos to bannedfromtheaters to keep consistent with my YouTube channel.

ok for those who are actually Curious why I’m rebranding after 6 years, it has multiple reasons

When I came up with “bannedfromzoos” 6 years ago, I always imagined one day I’d create a “bannedfromtheaters” channel which explored media analysis on YT. I stuck with bannedfromzoos because I was still learning (I just started editing in FCP and was still such a beginner) and wanted to first shitpost / create fan videos before doing the Real Deal. 

- I never made that jump because creating a brand new channel when you have about 1k followers is just suicide because who tf will actually jump along to your new channel and I still had “edited by bannedfromzoos” in my videos and that would be Inconsistent and I didn’t like it.

People always made super weird assumptions with a name like “bannedfromzoos” and it made me uncomfortable. The real story is so dumb: It was a reference to a medal you got from a stupid RPG app game I played back in 2014. When you killed a “mammoth rider” 10 times you got the medal “banned from zoos” and I just thought that was so fucking hilarious I made it my url. Groundbreaking, I know. But it also hit all my requirements for an url which is: 

- Readability (no words ending in vowels that makes you trip over a url without spaces) 

- No numbers or punctuation (which is ugly)

- Recognizability (it’s weird enough that it sticks with you. which is just what you want when you’re a creator).

Bannedfromtheaters is actually far more consistent with the content I produce. I love media analyses and have many of them swirling in my brain to one day upload. Me being “banned” from theaters because of my movie, musical or media takes is a much easier link and joke to understand and probably won’t give me weird ass looks as a name like “bannedfromzoos”.

So yeah that’s it. I’ve been wanting this url since 2014 so I’m actually surprised it has gone unclaimed all this time haha (no I didn’t save the url, what do you think I am, a planner?)
