Smart people instinctively understand the dangers of entrusting our future to self-serving leaders who use our institutions, whether in the corporate or social sectors, to advance their own interests. James C Colins
I discussed yesterday the catastrophic consequences of David Cameron’s policy of austerity, one academic study claiming 333,000 excess deaths can be attributed to the cuts to public services and benefits inflicted by Cameron as part of his austerity package.
Needless to say, it was the poor that suffered while the rich became richer still. The hardships of austerity were for ordinary working people to endure, not the rich friends of the Tory Party.
“We often hear David Cameron say: "We're all in this together." The truth is that Mr Cameron and his cabinet of millionaires sit there in a pool of cash whilst there are over three million children in Britain living in poverty. Under the Tories, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Whether it's dinners for donors in Downing Street or giving millionaires a tax-cut, it's the same old Tories who leave all the ordinary hard-working people of this country to suffer.” (HUFFPOST: 25/01/14)
After a further five years of austerity nothing had changed:
“Rich getting richer while poor get poorer, official figures show – with ‘Brexit and benefits freeze to blame'." (Independent: 26/02/19)
Not only was Cameron (together with George Osborne) responsible for the devastating cuts to public service funding and benefit payments, but he also led us into the quagmire that was Brexit.
Whatever your views on Brexit, it has been an economic disaster for this country and the blame for this can be squarely laid at the door of David Cameron.
"Many will never forgive him for the almost offhand way he steered Britain into an unnecessary Brexit cul-de-sac, and the ramifications of his mistake continue to cast a pall over the country." (Evening Standard: 14/11/23)
The Evening Standard, is usually a Tory supporting newspaper but even they recognise that Cameron was being totally self-serving in calling for a referendum on our membership of the EU, a decision that had more to do with saving the Tory Party (and his premiership) from the consequences of a right-wing split and the rise of UKIP to Tory MP seats.
“Cameron chose to commit to a vote, not because the country’s population was clamouring for one but because a significant minority of his own MPs, many of them frustrated by the constraints of coalition, were demanding that he do so – some because they feared that UKIP would cost them their seat (or the seats of too many of their colleagues) at the next election, some because they wanted out of the European Union and were more than happy to leverage that fear to their advantage.” (ukandeu.ac.uk: Why David Cameron called the 2016 referendum – and why he lost’ : 04/10/22)
As if this were not enough, Cameron was not averse to using his political connections to potentially line his own pockets after he had resigned as PM. In 2022, MP’s condemned Cameron for lobbying on behalf of his banking employer, Greensill.
“The Treasury select committee said in July 2021 that it was inappropriate of the ex-prime minister to send 62 messages to former colleagues pleading for them to help the controversial bank, for which he worked and in which he owned stock options that could have been worth tens of millions of pounds.” (Guardian: 13/11/23)
Cameron also risked the security of this country by cosying up to China. Declaring that he was determined to make Britain Beijing’s partner of choice, he signed £40bn worth of deals with China claiming:
“What this really means is jobs, it means livelihoods, it means security.”
Whatever else it meant it did not mean security.
“China represents the "largest state-based threat" to Britain's economic security, Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden has told the BBC. It comes as figures show the government intervened in eight attempted takeovers of UK firms by Chinese buyers last year over national security fears.” (BBC News: 11/07/23)
It did however mean a job for David Cameron:
“Former British PM Cameron gets new job as vice-chairman of China-UK fund.” (The Straits Times: 19/12/17)
Cameron, like many Tories, is a man who, despite his patriotic rhetoric, is prepared to put the Conservative Party and his own career above the best interests of the country as a whole. He is a man of poor economic judgement, a man who acts for the benefit of his rich friends and is quite prepared to endanger our security of our nation for the short term benefit of making a few extra pounds. He is not fit to be Foreign Secretary and Rishi Sunak should never have appointed him.

Meghan doesnt get stealth wealth by u/Mickleborough
Meghan doesn’t get stealth wealth The series Succession purportedly lifted the lid on how the 0.000042% (2021 figures) of the world really live. It introduced the concept of ‘stealth wealth’ dressing - quiet, well-bred clothes conspicuous only by their classic lines, muted colours, and luxurious fabrics. Not stealth wealth. In late 2021, on their faux royal tour of New York, Meghan was accused of stealth wealth dressing: Telegraph archived / unarchived.Just the right thing for 71 F / 22 C, if you’re a reptile. [Actually, that explains a lot.]However, she’s let the peasant in her emerge: big bags. In Succession, a minor character appears at patriarch Logan Roy’s birthday party carrying a ‘monstrous’ that’s ‘ludicrously capacious’ (a Burberry tote). This indicates that she isn’t part of their world: ‘What’s even in there?’ asks Tom Wambsgans. ‘Flat shoes for the subway? Her lunch pail? It’s gargantuan. You could take it camping. You could slide it across the floor after a bank job.’ Because the rich don’t have to carry stuff: Guardian archived / unarchivedI like big bags……I cannot lie……Baby got bag.Seriously, what is it with Meghan and those gigantic bags? It’s not like she’s got her work laptop, office folders, or treats for the children (unless they really are invisible). post link: https://ift.tt/u5VbFwk author: Mickleborough submitted: August 20, 2023 at 08:53PM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit

Hello, Adrianna. I was a essential worker during 2020-2021. But I have left out of grocery store business because of emergency situations during the same time I have been suffering 2 car accidents injuries.
One has been miss diagnosed and turn up much later in life and I end up developing degenerated disc and the other one was when I was pushing carts and a driver had hit me while I was pushing carts during in a process trying to recover from an old injury.
I'm was living in Florida 22 years of my life.
So back then, I have all the connections and networking. But now I have no resources sadly the government of Texas only can help the rebillation problem made only for drugs and alcohol abuse that's there main focus since it's a baby state.
So the only special needs programs are made for server cases of austim. Not Asperger syndrome since I'm concerned to be Asperger syndrome I don't qualify any special needs support regarding of funds in the state of Texas.
I'm not asking much but as a request as a donation to a fellow citizen of the United States of America. who just so happened to have Asperger syndrome. I need some financial support for medical attentions for an example Chiropractic visits I go to the Joint every so often . And to travel since I use Uber to go to the places that need to go.
The small package for a start would cost $209 for the adjustment for my spine.
Sadly the churches can't help me because they are also don't have the enough funds to us. Because covid-19 situation restrictions I can't go to a normal job anymore. And they don't have anti-vaccinated jobs/ anti-covid-19 testing jobs available because the state of Texas is getting so expensive regarding of the taxes. And a hyperinflation. You can donate me any way you can you can send me an Uber gift card by sending me your physical address by emailing me. Or you can text me and I will send you my router number and that way you can deposit whatever amount you prefer to donate. I do not have a GoFundMe page because Facebook had deleted my GoFundMe page because Facebook is a anti freedom of speech Network system and anti-American .
My e.mail is [email protected] or text at 813-614-5277 Ps: Please leave your name address or email address thank you.

In Traffic-Weary Toronto, a Battle Breaks Out Over Bike Lanes (Bloomberg) At the evening rush hour in downtown Toronto last week, Victor Perelman stopped his bicycle at the intersection of Yonge and Bloor streets and explained his mission: He was going to ride the full length of all the bike lanes that Ontario Premier Doug Ford had just promised to rip up. “I see young people, old people, people with trailers behind their bikes, people with their children on kids’ bikes,” Perelman said of his fellow cyclists, “and this government just wants to push them all out into the road for their political expedience.” Since 2020, Toronto has unveiled dozens of kilometers of protected bike lanes, spanning from east to west to the downtown core. But the Ontario government, currently led by Ford’s Progressive Conservative majority, has pledged to remove some of them, arguing that bikeways are causing “standstill” congestion in Canada’s largest city because they can sacrifice a potential driving lane. The bill’s announcement has helped reignite a culture war that has long raged between urban Toronto and its sprawling suburbs. On one side: drivers who are increasingly frustrated with the city’s traffic delays, which the navigation tech company TomTom has ranked the worst in North America. The other side comprises city residents and transportation advocates who say that making more investments in non-car modes like transit and cycling is the only way out of the city’s congestion trap.
This 22-Foot Turkey Roosts in a Region of Roadside Giants (NYT) The most celebrated resident of Frazee, Minn., is 22 feet tall and is known to his friends simply as Big Tom. He lives alone just off Highway 10, past the metal barns but before the railroad tracks, where admirers show up seeking photos at all hours of the day. Big Tom is a turkey—the world’s largest, locals will tell you—and his fiberglass feathers are more than just a conversation starter. He pays homage to the region’s poultry industry, a cornerstone of the rural Minnesota economy, and to the annual Turkey Days festival in Frazee, a town of 1,300 people about 200 miles northwest of Minneapolis. While no sculpture is quite like Big Tom, it does not take long while wandering the Midwestern countryside to see more supersize statuary. Minnesota alone is home to a giant loon in Vergas, a giant otter in Fergus Falls, a giant prairie chicken in Rothsay, a giant sugar beet in Halstad, a giant crow in Belgrade, a giant pelican in, of course, Pelican Rapids, and giant Paul Bunyans in Akeley, Bemidji and Brainerd. For small places that will never have the tallest building or grandest stadium, having one of the world’s largest of something—truly, anything—can be a way to forge an identity, pull in visitors and, perhaps most of all, share a laugh.
Stripped of citizenship, these Nicaraguans live in limbo scattered across the world (AP) Sergio Mena’s life dissolved in hours. After years resisting President Daniel Ortega, the rural activist fled Nicaragua in 2018, joining thousands of protesters fleeing a yearslong crackdown on dissent. Mena returned from exile in neighboring Costa Rica in 2021 to continue protesting, only to be thrown in a prison where he said jailers hung prisoners by their feet and shocked them with electricity. Now in exile in Guatemala, Mena may be out of prison but he’s far from free. Upon their release, he and hundreds of religious leaders, students, activists, dissidents and journalists were rendered “stateless”—stripped of their citizenship, homes and government pensions. The United Nations says that they’re among 4.4 million stateless people worldwide who struggle to find jobs, education and healthcare or even open bank accounts or marry without valid ID documents.
After Emotional Debate, British Lawmakers Vote to Legalize Assisted Dying (NYT) Lawmakers in Britain voted on Friday to allow assisted dying for terminally ill patients in England and Wales under strict conditions, opening the way to one of the most profound social changes in the country in decades. After five hours of debate in the House of Commons, they voted by 330 to 275 to support a plan that would allow doctors to help patients with less than six months to live to end their lives. The vote was not the final word on the legislation: It will now be scrutinized in parliamentary committees and amendments to the bill may be put forward. The bill that lawmakers approved on Friday would apply to a narrow group: Applicants would have to be over 18, diagnosed with a terminal illness and have been given six months or less to live. Two doctors and a judge would be required to approve a patient’s choice to end their life, and fatal drugs would have to be self-administered.
Russia Launches Huge Bombardment of Ukraine and Signals More to Come (NYT) Russia attacked Ukrainian energy infrastructure with missiles and drones on Thursday, in what President Vladimir V. Putin said was retaliation for Kyiv’s hitting Russian territory with long-range American missiles. Mr. Putin suggested that such strikes could be stepped up, after millions of Ukrainians were left without power on Thursday, Ukrainian officials said. Ukraine’s energy ministry said it was the 11th major attack on the country’s energy infrastructure this year. The total extent of the damage was not immediately clear, but explosions were heard in cities across Ukraine, and many officials reported power outages. Six people were reported injured across the country, according to the regional authorities.
Desertion threatens to starve Ukraine’s forces at a crucial time (AP) Desertion is starving the Ukrainian army of desperately needed manpower and crippling its battle plans at a crucial time in its war with Russia, which could put Kyiv at a clear disadvantage in future ceasefire talks. Facing every imaginable shortage, tens of thousands of Ukrainian troops, tired and bereft, have walked away from combat and front-line positions to slide into anonymity, according to soldiers, lawyers and Ukrainian officials. Entire units have abandoned their posts, leaving defensive lines vulnerable and accelerating territorial losses, according to military commanders and soldiers. Some take medical leave and never return, haunted by the traumas of war and demoralized by bleak prospects for victory. Others clash with commanders and refuse to carry out orders, sometimes in the middle of firefights. Although Moscow has also been dealing with desertions, Ukrainians going AWOL have laid bare deeply rooted problems bedeviling their military and how Kyiv is managing the war, from the flawed mobilization drive to the overstretching and hollowing out of front-line units. It comes as the U.S. urges Ukraine to draft more troops and allow for the conscription of those as young as 18.
China Is the World’s Largest Car Exporter (NYT) Just two decades ago, China had little capacity to make cars, and owning one was considered novel. Today, China produces and exports more cars than any other country in the world. President-elect Donald J. Trump has promised to impose new tariffs on China. Many countries, including the United States, already levy extra tariffs on China’s electric vehicles. But with all of the advantages China wields in automaking, this pushback is unlikely to undercut China’s dominance. China’s home market for car sales is the world’s largest—almost as big as the American and European markets combined. China is a leader in the transition to electric vehicles and it exports more of them than any other country. Chinese brands like BYD are becoming known worldwide for offering advanced electric cars at the most competitive prices. And as Chinese drivers have shifted rapidly to electric vehicles, demand for gasoline-powered cars in China has plunged and many are being exported instead.
3 dead, over 80,000 displaced as Malaysia prepares for worst floods in a decade (AP) Malaysia prepared on Friday for its worst floods in a decade after heavier-than-expected monsoon rains caused severe flooding that killed three people and displaced more than 80,000. The National Disaster Command Center online portal said Friday that 84,597 people, from more than 25,000 families, across seven states were evacuated to 488 temporary shelters. The northeastern state of Kelantan, bordering Thailand, was the worst affected.
Philippines’ Marcos says debate over impeachment of VP Sara Duterte a ‘storm in a teacup’ (Reuters) Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr said on Friday that any impeachment complaint against his estranged vice president Sara Duterte would only distract Congress and not help people, in remarks that drew criticism from some lawmakers. Sara Duterte, who made threats against the president’s life on the weekend, is under legislative investigation for alleged misuse of public funds. She quit her cabinet post as education secretary in June and has denied wrongdoing. “Why waste time on it?” Marcos told reporters. “None of this will help improve a single Filipino life. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a storm in a teacup.”
Australia Has Barred Everyone Under 16 From Social Media. Will It Work? (NYT) Australia has imposed a sweeping ban on social media for children under 16, one of the world’s most comprehensive measures aimed at safeguarding young people from potential hazards online. But many details were still unclear, such as how it will be enforced and what platforms will be covered. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said that it puts the onus on social media platforms to take “reasonable steps” to prevent anyone under 16 from having an account. Corporations could be fined up to 49.5 million Australian dollars (about $32 million) for “systemic” failures to implement age requirements. Neither underage users nor their parents will face punishment for violations. And whether children find ways to get past the restrictions is beside the point, Mr. Albanese said. “We know some kids will find workarounds, but we’re sending a message to social media companies to clean up their act,” he said in a statement this month.
In a shock offensive, insurgents breach Syria’s largest city for the first time since 2016 (AP) Insurgents breached Syria’s largest city Friday and clashed with government forces for the first time since 2016, according to a war monitor and fighters, in a surprise attack that sent residents fleeing and added fresh uncertainty to a region reeling from multiple wars. The advance on Aleppo followed a shock offensive launched by insurgents Wednesday, as thousands of fighters swept through villages and towns in Syria’s northwestern countryside. Residents fled neighborhoods on the city’s edge because of missiles and gunfire, according to witnesses in Aleppo. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which monitors the country’s unresolved civil war, said dozens of fighters from both sides were killed. Reports emerged of government forces melting away in the face of rebel advances, and insurgents posted messages on social media calling on troops to surrender.
Battered by war and divisions, Lebanon faces a long list of challenges after ceasefire deal (AP) Hours after a U.S.-brokered ceasefire to end the war between Israel and Hezbollah went into effect, Lebanon woke up to the sound of celebratory gunfire instead of Israeli airstrikes and drones buzzing overhead. It was a rare moment of respite for Lebanon, as bombs stopped falling after a year of war. Thousands of displaced people joyfully drove back to their towns and villages in southern and eastern Lebanon. But the realization of what lies ahead quickly sank in. Town after town in the south and east as well as parts of Beirut have been destroyed, entire border villages leveled to the ground, and thousands of buildings damaged. The World Bank estimates losses amounting to some $8.5 billion. For the tiny and broken Mediterranean country, which has dealt with compounded calamities for over half a decade, the ceasefire deal has brought more questions than answers. Among them, who will foot the bill for rebuilding? Will Hezbollah fully remove its fighters and arsenals from the south, relocating north of the Litani River—and how will the Lebanese army ensure that it does so? And will Israel ultimately accept the militants being pushed back, battered but not destroyed?

Top Bankster was asked if he would step down if asked by Donald Trump
Nov 08, 2024
Jerome Powell, the head bankster at the Federal Reserve most famous for calling inflation “transitory” for months before admitting any need for tighter monetary policy, told reporters Thursday that he will not step down if asked by President-elect Donald Trump.
“No,” he told reporters, before stating that his job is protected “under the law.”
The New York Times noted that Powell was Trump’s pick for the job in 2018 but the relationship was never smooth. The paper noted that Trump “has continued to criticize the Fed, leading to speculation that he could try again to fire Mr. Powell — or pressure him to resign.”
But the paper also noted that the Fed operates independently from the White House “which means that it sets interest rates without needing approval from the president or administration.”
(The Trends Journal has long noted that the Fed likes to keep the party in charge, in charge, which is why the magazine forecasted that the central bank would cut rates just in time for the presidential election, in hopes of artificially inflating the stocks and making voters more prone to vote for Kamala Harris.)
Powell announced another 25-basis-point rate cut to bring interest rates to a range of 4.5 to 4.75 percent.
Since 2021, food prices have shot up 22 percent and passenger vehicle insurance 47 percent, CNBC analyst Jeff Cox wrote in a 19 October essay. The median U.S. home price has soared 30 percent since 2019.
In short, prices and interest rates are still uncomfortably high for too many people.
Before the Ukraine War began, inflation rates hit a 40-year high.
The word on The Street at the time was that the Fed was going to raise interest rates 0.50 percent after a year of denying inflation was rising… claiming inflation was just “temporary” and then “transitory.”
In March 2022, Powell said the central bank would raise its key interest rate by only 0.25 percent. (The rate had been near zero since the start of the COVID War.)
The Fed’s insistence that soaring inflation was “transitory” was “one of the worst calls in decades,” Mohamed El-Erian, president of Queens College, Cambridge, and a senior advisor to Allianz, said in comments quoted by the Financial Times.
If the Fed had grasped the consequences of keeping interest rates low amid a cash-rich economy with too few goods available, it would have been able to recognize inflation’s dangers early on, he added.
TREND FORECAST: Totally omitted from the mainstream business media is the soaring price of gold. As Trends Journal subscribers well know, but blacklisted by the media, is our 2 January 2024 trend forecast that this year would be a Golden Year for gold. Since that forecast, as we go to press, gold prices have spiked some $700 per ounce. Among the reasons gold prices are rising is that there is a general consensus that inflation is here to stay and that the prices have sharply spiked as a result of nations pumping in countless trillions of dollars—backed by nothing and printed on nothing—to fight the COVID War have created an inflation cycle that will keep on rising.

Lee So-hee (Korean: 이소희; born November 18, 1994), better known by the stage name Han So-hee (한소희), is a South Korean actress. She began her career as a supporting character in the television series Money Flower (2017), 100 Days My Prince (2018), and Abyss (2019) before transitioning into lead roles in The World of the Married (2020), Nevertheless (2021), My Name (2021) and Gyeongseong Creature (2023–2024).
Han was born as Lee So-hee (이소희) on November 18, 1994, in Ulsan, South Korea. She attended Ulsan High School of Arts where she majored in arts. In her senior year of high school, Han moved to Seoul to live with her grandmother, where she worked various part-time jobs to make ends meet. Han originally had no plans of entering the entertainment industry and wanted to continue pursuing higher education, stating that, "I got into a university in France, but I couldn't go because I didn't have enough money in my bank account. I had to have at least ₩60 million (approximately US$46,000) in my bank account to get a visa. I didn't have that, of course." While working part-time at pubs, modeling, and doing commercials to save up money, the head of the agency to which she belonged persuaded Han to try acting.
𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟕-𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟗: 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬
Han appeared in SHINee's "Tell Me What To Do" music video in 2016. She made her acting debut in a minor role in Reunited Worlds (2017). She got her first main roles in MBC TV's Money Flower in 2017 and tvN's 100 Days My Prince in 2018. Later in 2018, she starred in KBS2's After The Rain and made an appearance in Roy Kim's "The Hardest Part". In 2019, Han played a supporting role in the tvN series Abyss, alongside lead actors Ahn Hyo-seop and Park Bo-young.
𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟎: 𝐖𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝
In 2020, Han starred in JTBC's The World of the Married alongside Kim Hee-ae and Park Hae-joon, in which she played a main role as Yeo Da-kyung, a young mistress. The television series ended its run as the highest-rated television series in Korean cable television history. Han received widespread recognition thanks to the success of the television series, and for her performance she was nominated for Best New Actress – Television at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards.
𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏–𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭: 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬
In 2021, Han starred in JTBC romance drama Nevertheless alongside Song Kang. Later the same year, she starred in the Netflix original crime-action drama My Name as Yoon Ji-woo, a woman seeking revenge for her father's murder. For her performance in My Name, she was nominated for Best Actress – Television at the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards.
In March 2022, Han appeared in the four-episode Disney+ mini-series Soundtrack#1 alongside Park Hyung-sik. In September, she appeared as Princess Kayena in a live-action teaser for the Kakao Webtoon series The Villainess is a Marionette. The following year, she featured in BTS' Jungkook music video for his single "Seven", which was released on July 14, 2023.
In 2023, Han appeared in the 1945 historical drama Gyeongseong Creature with costar Park Seo-joon. The first season was released on Netflix from December 22, 2023 to January 5, 2024, and the second season was released on September 27, 2024. Han also made her film debut in March of 2024 with the LGBTQ indie film Heavy Snow, which premiered at the 38th BFI Flare. She is set to appear in upcoming tvN drama Two-Faced Lover alongside Byeon Woo-seok.
𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲
In 2019, Han faced legal trouble after her estranged mother, known publicly as Ms. Shin, took out and failed to repay a ₩40 million loan with Han listed as the guarantor. A similar instance occured in 2022 when ₩85 million was borrowed using a bank account in the actress' name that "was opened arbitrarily [by Shin] when Han was a minor." Her mother was later arrested in September of 2024 for the operation of 12 illegal gambling establishments, in which "proxy owners" were used to allow patrons access to a a gambling website to play games like baccarat after purchasing game credits.
Han's agency, 9ato Entertainment, released a statement acknowledging that Ms. Shin had been involved in several fraud cases, including forgery, but clarified that their talent was not connected in any way.
𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬
In March of 2024, Han was spotted at the same hotel as fellow actor Ryu Jun-yeol while on a vacation in Hawaii, igniting relationship rumors. She confirmed the relationship herself on a personal blog later that month, and hours later, Ryu’s agency released an official statement corroborating these rumors.
The couple was confirmed to be dating since the beginning of 2024; however, they split later that month. Ryu’s representatives as well as Han's agency released a statement confirming the breakup. “They both realized that their roles as actors are more important. They promised not to waste any more emotions on personal matters,” it read.
𝐄𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬
Han has been active as a model since 2016. Her advertisements include brands such as Ritz Crackers, CJ Group, J.Estina, Banila Co., Eider, Charlotte Tilbury Beauty, L'Oréal, and Giordano International. In 2023, she was announced as the global brand ambassador for Singaporean fashion house label Charles & Keith, French luxury jewelry house Boucheron, and Korean-owned sportswear brand Fila. Also in 2023, Lotte Chilsung selected Han as the new face of Chum Churum soju.
In 2024, Han became a global brand ambassador for home appliance brand Shark.

Bank branch closures hits Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's constituency

The latest in a string of branch closures will see the final bank close in Richmond, which is Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s constituency.
A shared banking hub will replace the Barclays in the North Yorkshire town, the 100th location earmarked for a hub.
The move comes a day after Lloyds Banking Group said it would shut 45 branches next year, and Metro Bank announced a review of opening hours.
Labour has called for shared banking hubs to be opened quicker.
It is not yet clear if the closure of the Richmond branch, which will shut in December next year, is part of a wider programme by Barclays.
In August, the government said banks would face fines if they failed to provide free access to cash withdrawals for consumers and businesses.
A planned policy will state that free cash withdrawals and deposits must be available within one mile for people living in urban areas. In rural areas, where there are concerns over “cash deserts”, the maximum distance is three miles.
A voluntary arrangement is currently in place which means every High Street should have free access to cash within 1km.
Closures
Nearly 6,000 branches have closed since the start of 2015, according to the consumer group Which?, with scores more already scheduled to close next year.
Campaigners fear some retailers could stop accepting cash if it becomes too tricky to process.
Cash remains a necessity for millions of people, research has found, with the elderly and those with disabilities among those likely to struggle. Branches have been more likely to close in disadvantaged areas.
So-called banking hubs are spaces shared by several different High Street banks and are meant to help communities that have seen all their bank branches close.
While welcomed in communities where they have opened, there has been criticism that relatively few are operating.

Labour plans to ensure that 350 will open.
Shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves said: “Labour’s plan will bring banking services back to communities who have seen them disappear over recent years, meaning more people across the country will be able to access the services they need closer to home.”
Natalie Ceeney, who wrote a major report into access to cash and oversees the opening of hubs, said: “Over the past month we’ve been opening more than a hub a week.
“Last week we were opening Hubs in Cumbria, Derbyshire and Devon. This week and next we’re in Lincolnshire, London, County Durham, County Down and Denbighshire. We will have 30 banking hubs open by the end of the year and 50 by Easter.”
Ron Delnevo, who chairs the Payment Choice Alliance, “A total of 350 Bank Hubs is nowhere near enough to replace the thousands of bank branches lost in the last five years.”
He said the major High Street banks should be compelled to provide support staff in all 11,500 post offices around the country to ensure community financial services, including access to cash, is maintained.
On Thursday, Lloyds Banking Group said it would close 22 Halifax branches, 19 Lloyds branches and four Bank of Scotland branches next year.
Metro Bank has said it will review whether to stay open seven days a week, and plans to cut 20% of its workforce.
