me when i see people calling duke super observant and citing his photokinetic powers as a way to show how he’s always looking from afar and observing people, as if his character doesn’t revolve around impulsivity, taking action and stepping up when others don’t and putting the weight of the world on his shoulders, as if he’s not a huge adrenaline junkie, as if he’s destined to just be the quiet observant guy

#duke thomas #like YEAH he’s observant bc he’s a fucking vigilante #it’s life or death if he can’t catch mistakes #but he’s not the quiet people watcher!!!!#literally 90% of his appearances he’s super wrapped up in his own shit #he’s a reckless thrill seeker at times #he can be quite insensitive and not empathetic!#banish this idea of poc characters being sweet and people watchers and therapists #duke is very messed up in a lot of ways #and his entire character literally revolves around the fact that he CANT sit back and watch #he’s compelled to do the right thing to do what his mom taught him
