Tarot Card Taehyung
Tumblr media
Pairing: Female reader x Taehyung
Prompt: Witch
Tags: Witch, Tarot cards, small town, magic, art, painting, tension, chapters, future smut
Chapters: (1/?)
Summary: After your grandma passed away, you moved into her apartment in her small town. You had lost your inspiration for your artwork and hoped that small town living would fix it. One day you come home to find an obnoxious purple tent and a very beautiful Tarot card reader at your doorstep. Could he be your new muse?
You sighed in relief as you finally saw the sign for town. You had been on empty for over fifteen miles and you weren’t sure your car was going to make it there before your car keeled over in the middle of the street. You knew you should have filled up before you left but you were in a hurry and completely forgot. Your mom always told you you’d end up stranded somewhere because you never filled up your tank. She was probably right, but it hadn’t happened yet. The day it does, your mom will never let you live it down.
You pulled up to the gas station with a small cheer and thanked the heavens that you made it before your car died. You grabbed your card and went into the gas station, browsing down the walls of drinks before finally selecting an energy drink. As you made your way to the counter to pay for your drink and gas, you overheard two teenage girls talking by the freeze machine.
“I know, but he’s been here a few days already. He’s probably met plenty of girls. I don’t have a shot,” one of them said before sipping at her drink.
“You don’t know that. And besides, even if he doesn’t like you, you could at least get your fortune read! You’ve always wanted that,” her friend reassured her.
You shook your head. Just what this town needed. Some con man to take all their money. As the person in front of you left, the cashier gave you a big smile. You looked down at the counter and saw small cards for the “so called” fortune teller. You took one as you paid and headed out to put the gas in your car. As you filled up your car, you took a look at the card.
Having trouble? Need some insight to your life?                       Tarot Readings by Kim Taehyung                                 In town this week only!
You rolled your eyes when you read the card. “What a joke,” you said as you finished pumping the gas and got back into your car.
It didn’t take long to get to your apartment. It was right in the middle of town, down along main street. Normally an apartment here would cost a fortune, but your grandmother had lived here and left it to you after she passed. You never really cared much for small town living, but you loved your grandmother more than anything. And she had decided to leave her apartment to you. Besides, in this market, there was no other way you’d be able to afford your own place.
As you approached the apartment, you realized that all of the street parking was taken up. It was almost seven in the evening. No one is ever up town this late. You slowly drove past your front door, trying to get a glimpse of the problem. You saw a large purple tent on the sidewalk near your front door and a line that went well past the next block. You groaned and drove around the block, finally finding a place to park your car. You grabbed your bag from the back seat and angrily huffed your way up to Main street, eyeing the purple monster that dared invade your territory. Okay, it wasn’t that serious, but it was irritating.
When you made your way towards the tent, you heard a deep voice speaking. “I’m sorry everyone, but I’m afraid I must be done for the night. I have another engagement that I must prepare for. But please! Feel free to come back tomorrow! I will be open again at the usual time!”
There were multiple groans from the line in front of the tent, but eventually everyone started to make their way away from the tent. This was your chance. You shifted the bag on your shoulder before making your way to the tent. Since there was no way to knock, you just burst in.
“Listen here buddy, we’ve got a problem.” You say as you barge in, stopping dead in your tracks when you see the man in front of you.
You had to use every ounce of your power to keep your jaw from hitting the floor. The man in front of you had the most beautiful face you had ever witnessed on a human being. The silver bangs of his hair hanging just above his eyes. His eyes. They were an icy blue that nearly made your heart stop. His skin almost had a soft golden glow to it. An angel? The look on his face was what finally shocked you back into reality. His lips had spread into an adorable boxy grin and he crossed his arms.
“I think the only problem I have is a crazy woman barging into my tent. I could have been naked!” He proclaimed before turning to blow out some of the candles he had lit on the table. “If you want a reading, you’ll have to come back tomorrow, I’m all done for the night.” He said, not looking at you again.
You shook your head, remembering why you had even stopped into this tent. “No! I’m not here for a reading. I’m here because your tent is right in front of my apartment. I had to park over a block away because of your line!”
He let out a chuckle before turning back to look at you. “You’re angry at me over a parking spot? That’s a little childish, don’t you think?”
Redness grew on your cheeks at his words. True, it may be a bit childish, but that wasn’t the point. “Do you even had a permit to be here? You can’t just open shop where ever you want.” You said, shifting your bag again before crossing your arms.
“Oh trust me, I have my permits. I also have written permission from the owner of the building to set up shop out here.” He said as he continued to clean up his items and packing them into a trunk.
“I don’t think so. I never gave you permission to open shop here. I’m the owner of the building.” You said smugly.
He looked over at you, confusion washing across his face. “You don’t own the building. A nice older lady owns it, Minnie. So don’t come up in here, trying to tell me that I can’t be here.”
You face fell when he mentioned your grandmother. It could be true. Your grandmother had never mentioned it before though. You shook your head before looking back at him, tears pricking at the corner of your eyes. “Grandm-” you cleared your throat. “Minnie passed away nine months ago.”
He stopped what he was doing and you could see him go rigid. His arms fell to his sides and he let out a sigh. “I’m sorry, I-I didn’t realize. That would explain why she hadn’t been answering my calls.”
You nodded before shaking your head. This wasn’t the time to talk about your grandma. “Look, since it was something my grandma allowed, I’ll let you keep doing it. Just move the line out of my doorway and we’ll go from there.” You turned to head out of the tent.
“Wait. Can I get your name?” He asked, causing you to turn around.
You laughed. “You’re the psychic. Why don’t you figure it out?” You said smugly before heading out of the tent and to the door to the building.
You made your way up the stairs to the apartment, unlocking the second door at the top of the stairs. Once in, you threw your keys onto the table at the entrance and kicked off your shoes. You tossed the bag onto your couch and plopped down next to it.
You were lucky your grandma had left you such an apartment. It may have only been a studio apartment, but she had left you the entire building. The studio apartment was rather large, giving you enough space to section off your sleeping area from the living area. Plus your kitchen was spacious and had an island. Your grandmother was always cooking and baking so she made sure to get an updated kitchen. Again, lucky for you because you loved to bake as well.
Downstairs used to be a shop of some sort. Your grandmother never ran it, but the person before her did. After you moved in, you turned it into your art studio. You kept all of your finished works hung up along the walls and you had multiple stations for the different projects you liked to work on. Lately you had hit a rough patch and had not been able to do much. Despite the meditating you had done, you just couldn’t find the inspiration.
You leaned your head back on the couch and you closed your eyes. You steadied your breathing and tried to meditate again. You needed to get out of this funk. As you relaxed, your mind continued to drift to the young man outside of your building. The silver hair that perfectly framed his face. Those piercing blue eyes that you could feel reading your soul. You shook your head. That wasn’t possible. He was just trying to make a quick buck by conning all of the lonely women in this town. He probably didn’t even know how to properly read tarot. It was an insult to your people. Despite that, you still couldn’t get him off your mind.
You groaned in frustration before you stood up from your couch, stretching a bit. You went over to the island in the kitchen and lit some incense. You took the stick with you, heading back out the door and down the stairs to your studio. At the bottom of the stairs was a door that led to the old shop. With a flick of your wrist, the door to the studio opened up and you passed through the door, the smoke of the incense leaving a short trail behind you. As you passed through the studio, the candles that were on the scattered tables began to light.
Witchcraft really got a bad reputation and that’s part of the reason you didn’t like the idea of having a fortune teller outside of your door. So many people nowadays tried to pass off some of the traits of witchcraft without actually learning the culture. Witches were never respected, even now that Wicca was becoming a more popular religion. And now there was a man outside of your door that was pretending to have a connection to these tarot cards to con the women in your town. Why would your grandma allow him to set up here?
Your grandmother was a witch and a very good one. She had taught you everything you knew. Your mother married your father, a human, and so she did not continue with it. But you loved it. It was one of the many reasons you loved spending time with your grandmother. Despite being gone, her home remained enchanted to an extent. That was something you had to find out the hard way as well. You couldn’t even get into the building the first day you moved out here. The key wouldn’t work no matter what you did. After three locksmiths and four hours of trying, you sat defeated on the stoop. With the last bit of hope you had, you tried your magic. Low and behold, the door opened.
That would get annoying and be hard to hide when you had guests. Since no one ever entered your studio, you decided to keep that magic on it. It also kept it from being broken into or any unwanted human guests from showing up. Which was great for you because you had never let anyone in to see your work. You were too self conscious about it.
Your grandmother had taught you to use your magic and your connection to the energies of the world and hone it into your artwork. It was something you were extremely grateful for. You were able to just let your brush wander and you could create beautiful pieces of work. But since she had passed, you hadn’t been able to connect. You tried everything you could think of to no avail. You couldn’t count how many hours you spent sitting in front of your easel without anything being painted.
You placed the incense on the stand near your easel before you sat down in front of it. You stared at it for a long time before turning to prepare your paints. The majority of the colors were different shades of blues, grays and blacks. And with them, you began to paint. You had no plan originally, just a feeling. You were drawn to those colors. You closed your eyes as you began to paint, letting the brush move across the canvas. You let your mind guide the painting and hummed along.
Within an hour, you set down your brush and opened your eyes, starting at the canvas. It’s not the first time you had managed to paint without looking. It was just what happened when you channeled the energy.  What surprised you wasn’t that you had painted. What had surprised you were the icy blue eyes that were staring right back at you.
****
You awoke the next morning to the sound of a buzzing crowd. You groaned as you tossed over to look at your phone. 8:37. You hated being woken up before your alarm. You sighed before finally getting up, scratching your head as a yawn escaped your lips. You didn't have to be to work until ten so you decided to take the extra time to make some eggs.
Usually you'd only have time to grab a muffin or bagel on your way to work. But it always put you in a better mood when you could actually cook something to eat.
After you finished, you went about your usual routine; hair, makeup, and finally deciding on an outfit. Today you chose a purple plaid flannel with a black camisole underneath. You slipped on a pair of black holey jeans and your black moccasins before grabbing your bag.
You made your way outside, almost tripping over the people sitting on your stoop. They must have gotten tired of waiting in line for Taehyung. You groaned internally before heading towards the tent.
Taehyung was standing at the entrance of it with a customer. As you walked passed you couldn't help but stare at him. He was very intently discussing something with the person in front of him until he saw you. He seemed to have lost his train of thought as you walked by, until the girl started to whine. He shook his head and continued talking to her, flashing her an apologetic smile and you rolled your eyes.
The diner that you worked at was only a few blocks away so you didn't bother to get your car. Once you arrived, you made your way to the closet, hanging up your bag and grabbing your apron. The only good thing about all of the people being uptown was that it meant you were busier than usual at work. Normally you’d groan at the thought of a busy shift, but you need to keep your mind busy. All you could picture were those icy blue eyes. He had some kind of a hold over you and you couldn’t figure out why. Sure, he was attractive, but you’d never had this kind of an issue with a guy before. There was something else about him. You shook your head before you could dive too deep into thought and began working.
****
You groaned when you looked out the window and saw the once near white concrete of the sidewalk slowly turning a dark gray. Normally you weren’t opposed to the rain. It was actually one of the times you felt the most comfortable. Today was different. Today you had walked to work. Today you had walked to work with no jacket or umbrella. You’d be soaked before you even left the block. Sure, you knew a spell or two to help with the situation, but none that would work out in public.
You cleared the dishes from your last table and put them in the dish bin, wiping down the table before taking the dishes to the sink in the back. You started rinsing them off with the sprayer to help the dish washer. Unfortunately, no one had told you that the sprayer was busted and water spurt from every possible crack and soaked the front of your shirt. You cursed under your breath and set the dishes down.
“Sorry, you’re just gonna have to handle it yourself,” you say to the missing dish washer.
You shook your head and went to the closet to grab your bag. You’d have been more peeved if you didn’t already know you were going to be drenched before you got home. With that in mind, you waved to the few people still in the building and made your way out into the pouring rain.
Your apartment was only a couple blocks away so you made the trek towards it, rolling the sleeves of your plaid shirt down more to cover your arms to try and conserve what little body heat you had. As you jogged your way towards the apartment, your eyes locked onto the giant, glowing purple tent. With the lights on inside, even the tent could be seen from down the street in this weather. It caused you to roll your eyes as you slowed down near it. You wondered if Taehyung kept warm while in there during weather like this. Maybe you should invite him inside. No. You didn’t want him inside. He decided to camp out there, it was his problem.
You unlocked the downstairs door, stepping inside and wiping your feet on the welcome back that lay at the bottom on the stairs. You went to take the first step up the stairs when your eyes caught the door to your art studio. It was cracked open. There was no way. You always shut the door when you left it. If you didn’t, the magic wouldn’t seal and then anyone could get in.
You turned to reach for the door knob and a chill ran up your spine. There was someone inside your studio. You could feel it. You looked around for some sort of weapon, but found nothing. They would hear you if you went upstairs. This was the only chance you had to surprise them.
You took a deep breath before slowly pushing the door open. You peeked into the room and didn’t see anyone immediately. All of the stations seemed empty aside from the candles that were lit on them. Their flames flickering and causing eerie shadows along the walls.
With the coast clear, you stepped into the room, keeping your back towards the door in case you had to bolt out. You walked farther into the studio before you caught sight of a figure at your painting station. You quickly ducked down behind your pottery station, peeking over the side of the table. The figure was sitting at your station, all of the lights focusing on the canvas. The canvas of those blue eyes. They still seemed to be staring at you, despite your attempt at hiding.
“I really hope you don’t think you’re good at sneaking up on someone,” the familiar voice called out, causing you to jump. You had been caught. You stood up and walked over towards the painting.
“How did you get in here? The door was locked. No one should have been able to get in,” you said as you crossed your arms, your damp clothes causing you to shiver.
He didn’t seem interested in answering your question, but instead kept his focus on the painting. “Minnie always said her granddaughter was talented, but I thought that was just Grandma’s love talking.”
You looked at him before looking back at your painting. You had never let anyone look at your work and you should be furious, but finally getting feedback from someone was sort of reassuring. You had plenty of doubts in your skills which was why you never let anyone else ever look at your works. The praise was refreshing. But distracting.
You shook your head. “Don’t ignore me. How did you get in here? You shouldn’t have been able to. Did you break in? Do I need to call the police?”
Finally Taehyung took his eyes off of the canvas and looked to you, a smirk appearing on his lips. “You know, if you had a crush on me, you could have just asked me to come model for you. It could have been a lot more interesting for the both of us.”
Your cheeks immediately began to heat up. “Of course you’d assume every woman in this town has a crush on you.” You walked over to try and block him from looking at the painting any longer. You felt your back brush against him, yet he refused to move. “Look, I didn’t paint you. I have no interest in you.” You were trying to sound firm, but you could tell that your voice was wavering.
You heard him chuckle from behind you, his breath against the nape of your neck.  “No interest in me at all? That sure is a shame.” You felt his fingers move along the top of your hand. “You’re soaked,” he said in toner much lower than his usual voice.
You bit your lip, feeling your skin below his fingertips begin to heat as they grazed your skin. You knew that he wasn’t just talking about your shirt anymore. You knew you should have tried to walk away from him, but he wasn’t wrong. You did have an interest in him. Your words will always deny it, but your body couldn’t.
His hands moved to the sleeves of your shirt. “You know, you’ll get sick if you keep this on. Let me help you take this off.” You stiffened at his words, but nodded your head. You didn’t dare speak. You couldn’t trust your voice right now.
He smirked when he saw you nod before moving his hands from your sleeves to the collar. He gave it a little tug and started to slip the flannel down your arms. His hands left trails of fire against your skin, despite having the fabric in between the two of you.
“I think you must have caught a cold. Your skin feels so warm.” He teased as he finally pulled the flannel off of your arms.
You shuddered at the exposure before moving your arms to cover your chest, rubbing your arms. “Yeah, it must be a cold. Maybe I should go to bed. Get some rest,” you say nervously.
He tutted from behind you, grabbing your hand and forcing you to turn towards him. He held your hand in his, using his other to run his fingers across the palm of your hand. “You know, it’s really rude to leave a guest all alone. Maybe I should go with you. You seem like you need someone to help take care of you.”
You blushed but didn’t yank your hand away. You let his fingers trace over your palm, biting your lip as you felt heat growing in between your thighs. He was hardly touching you and your body was reacting so easily, so traitorously.
His piercing blue eyes gazed down at you through his silver bangs, a pink tongue moving across his bottom lip. He moved closer to you as he moved his hand up your arm and to your shoulder. His finger moved along the strap of your camisole, his eyes never leaving yours. You could feel your skin growing hot and spreading across your body the more that he touched you.
You had been with a few guys before, but none of them had made you feel remotely similar to the way the man in front of you was. Almost. Like. Magic.
Your hand snapped up, grabbing onto his wrist, surprising him. He looked at you before he dropped his hand, his boxy grin quickly taking over his face. “Ahh. So you finally figured it out,” he said as you let his wrist go.
“You’re a witch. I can’t believe I didn’t see it,” you say as you walked away from him, moving around to the other side of the painting station to put space in between the two of you as you continued to rant. “The tarot cards weren’t just a con. You can actually read them. That’s why Grandma let you stay here. She knew you were a witch too!”
“You know, we prefer the term warlock. Witches are female.” He said as he turned to look at you, giving you a cheeky grin.
You ignored his comment. “That’s how you were able to get in here. Humans couldn’t get in here.”
Taehyung sighed before cocking his hip to the right and crossing his arms. “Glad you’re finally catching up. Now I think we were in the middle of something before your great epiphany hit. Can we get back to that?”
You gave him a sharp glare before grabbing a stray paintbrush and chucking it at him. “Are you kidding me? Is that all you can think about? I’ve never met another witch beside my family and all you can think about is getting your dick wet?”
He rolled his eyes. “Warlock. And hey, I knew exactly who you were when I saw you. It’s not my fault you can’t detect your own kind.” Taehyung turned to the painting of him before smirking. “Or maybe you can. You just didn’t know it.”
You walked over to the painting, running your fingertips gently over the canvas. “I just can’t believe it. Another witch right here in this rinky dink town.”
“Warlock,” he interjected, causing you to roll your eyes.
“Oh, shut up. Warlock, whatever. That’s not the point.” You turned to him. “I have so much to ask. I don’t know where to begin.”
He licked his lips before giving you a heart stopping smirk. “Well, how about we finish what we started first?”

Rainy Nights & Love Confessions
Tumblr media
The chocolate haired boy sat by the window absentmindedly staring out to the soaked streets of Seoul. His body slumped forward from his tiresome day. He sat twirling his finger along the rim of his now cold coffee as a drenched man sat himself in the empty seat in front of him. His gaze went from the small child playing in the rain to the man sat across from him.
“We’ve been looking everywhere for you Tae.” The new guest spoke softly not making eye contact.
“Namjoon knew where I was. I told him before I left.” Taehyung’s gaze fell to the mug in front of him.
“He said he had no clue where you went!” The man’s voice now louder than before with a string of emotions sounding through.
“But he also told you I was safe, didn’t he?” Taehyung’s eyes shooting up to meet the worried man that sat pale faced in front of him.
“Y-Yes, but that’s not the point. Why didn’t you tell me. You always tell me when you do things like this.” A pang of pain shot through Taehyung’s chest at his words.
“It was you I was running from.” He watched the other mans reactions very carefully. Taking in the way his nostrils flared and his cheeks reddened. He watched the tears slowly form at the corners of his soft brown eyes.
“What?”
“You heard me. I was running from you, I needed time away from you.” The man turned his head as he saw his Hyung walking through the cafe door drenched. The pink haired man walked slowly towards the two men while typing away on his phone, not even realizing the presence of the second man.
“Tae, I think- What the hell! I told you not to go looking for him! Why don’t you listen!” Namjoon’s anger clearly showing.
“I was-“
“It’s fine Namjoon.” Taehyung cutting off the words from the man across the table.
“Go back to the dorm, we’ll be home shortly. I need to speak with him.” Taehyung’s full attention was now on Namjoon.
“Tae, are you sure you’re ready for this? Don’t push it, okay?” Namjoons eyes filled with worry as he looked down at the younger man, who in his eyes was still a baby.
“It’s alright, it’s time for this.” With quick exchanges of goodbyes and ‘see you at home’ the pink haired man was soon out the door.
“What is it Tae?” The man’s face now plagued with worry.
“You, you are breaking my heart. Every time I look at you, I hurt. Every time I hear you speak, I hurt. Hell even seeing your name pop up on my notifications hurts me.” Taehyung now matching the man’s tears.
“You don’t think that’s how I feel?” Taehyung’s head shooting up to meet an angry stare.
“You scared me tonight, I was afraid that I was going to lose you! You didn’t look at me, come near me or speak to me for the past week and all of a sudden you disappear without a trace!” The man’s voice gradually rising.
“You think that I didn’t notice, you think I was careless to your feelings towards me? I know exactly how you feel because I feel the same damn way!” The man continues to shout giving Taehyung no opportunities to speak.
“I fucking love you Kim Taehyung!” With his closing words the man slammed his hands into the wobbly table rattling the mug of cold coffee.
“What? Really?” The man slowly retracting his hands from the table top.
“Yes, you idiot! Why do you think I’m always angry when you hug on the other guys, or hang out with them. It’s because I want you by my side at all times so that I know you’re safe and happy. I want you by my side so I can always tell you how much I love you, and how you are the best thing in my life” TaeHyung instinctively reaching out and wiping the man’s tears away. When Taehyung attempted to pull his hand away the man shoved his cheek into his palm and held it there.
“I love you Kim Taehyung. I always have and I always will.” With a slight rub of his thumb against the man’s cheek Taehyung said what he has been dying to say for the past couple of years.
“I love you forever and always Kookie. Forever and always.”
