the unbearable lightness of being is kind of an insane title for a book if you think about it like if you hadnt heard about it before youd think it was some like post punk EP on bandcanp made by a trans girl in rural indiana but no its a novel written by a czechoslavakian man 40 years ago and yet at its core its about the same shit. thats really the point of this post is that like its the same human experience really between like emo zoomers and philosophy nerds in the soviet union is that both of them suffer in a similar way and both of them need to get pegged.

SOIA Obtaining (prod. Mez) Mood Swings EP (Bandcamp / Record Breakin’, 6/24/13)

Made in Taiwan and brought to Vienna, Austria (her parents’ origin) the culture clash incepted an affinity for a wide range of music. Growing up listening to classical music and African jazz, Billie Holiday‘s sadness and beloved fusion jazz gave birth to her musical approach, while abstract hip hop damaged the rest. Her sound varies from jazzy improvisation to Nu Soul, creating her own unique style through her code-lacking manners. She has spent a lot of time traveling Asia, the States and Southern Africa. While working on her Master thesis in Biotechnology she met the producer Mez.

Soulful things lay ahead after their first collaboration "Obtaining". Listen for yourself. Together they have been working on material for their upcoming EP "Mood Swings“. This project will reflect on Soia's own mood swings, from melancholic soul, stream of consciousness turned song, to feel good tunes - always going beyond the surface.
