Phineas just had his first meal in his new enclosure and is soaking up the heat on his perch! Feeding him in this enclosure may be a challenge, I had to grab a tray as a shield and swap doors because he tried to launch out after the rat on the first attempt to get it inside. All my snakes are very excited about food ;_;

He has some stuck shed around his jaw/neck from a shed right before he moved enclosures and it’s too close to his head for him to let me pull it off even after soaking, so hopefully after adjusting to his new enclosure it will scrape off, or come away with his next shed.

What are some really colorful snake species/morphs that are ethical to keep as pets? I know there's quite a few iridescent species of snake, but what about snakes that are just super vibrant and colorful?

Oh, there are so many!

You can get a cornsnake in almost any color you want, with vibrant pinks and oranges and yellows! If you love colorful snakes, check out flourescents.

If you love iridescence, check out kingsnakes. They have smooth, glossy bellies that shine like rainbows in the right light. I especially love the iridescence on Mexican black kingsnakes.

Speaking of kingsnakes, I'm absolutely besotted with lavender albinos. Photographs never do them justice, but they're a lovely dark pink/light purple color with dark red eyes and they're beautiful.

Speaking of enchi ball pythons, enchi clowns. Probably my personal favorite ball python morph!

If you love colorful and you're an experienced keeper looking for a display snake, Amazon tree boas are the way to go.

I had a weird dream and in it i bought another ball python. almost bought a dumerils boa but even in my dream i knew i didnt have the space lol. this ball python was really pretty and im having trouble finding one that looks like it, but its pretty similar to this one by Markus Jayne

and what i find frustrating is that he did not say what genes are in it. my guesses for what thought it was in my imagination were banana cinnamon enchi mojave, but tbh this looks a lot more like what i dreamt up than anything with cinnamon. in a photo close to this one in the timeline that looks similar to this snake, he hints at Orange Dream, but he didnt explain anything else unless its in the comments. 

idk, i just wanted to share because it was a really pretty snake like this one lol.

The pan-fried banana is exploring his new digs!

This is very much an In Progress enclosure, but it had all the necessities met and Phineas has needed to move for a long time, so it’s plenty good for him to be in for now. His next door neighbor’s pothos is super overdue for a trim, so eventually I’ll root some of those cuttings and then add them in here. I want to get more curly woods and vines to interlock and make really intricate climbing spaces for him like Oort has since all my bps really enjoy them, but that will wait until i get more energy to set up Penelope I think.
