being obsessed with a piece of media while doing the dp is so funny like it’s I love you but you wouldn’t last an hour in the asylum where they raised me
or I know which group 3 and group 4 subject you would choose, whether or not you’ll take a group 6 subject, which text type you wouldn’t chose for Lang & Lit SL, the types of CAS experiences and CAS project you would do, the EE topic and how much you would suffer in tok

man, every time i watch haikyuu i get even more amazed, not because the anime itself (because it's incredible) but how everything they're learning in high school i was already doing in middle school like lol brazil is really one crazy county
my middle school p.e. teacher trained us like pro athletes in volleyball, basketball, handball and, of course, football, not only that but we have yearly competition in all of the above and more between classes inside the school (a literal translation would be internal games (we had one in my college too)), and also different competitions between schools (one with all the city's schools, one with only the catholic schools, and i think there were more but i only remember this), i literally have a gold medal from playing volley with my class 😂
the schools i came from were all catholic, salesian catholic to be more specific, and at that time, back in the 2000's, all of them were powerhouses in sports, they were knows as the "sports school", that's why we had the catholic games 🤭 it was sooooo competitive, i never played, but we went to cheer our team even if we didn't know anyone lol the girls volley team was the best ✨
i stopped playing in the internal games still during my first year in highschool because i had a nasty fall during a football game and caused an asthma attack, everyone including me were kinda spooked after that, but it's ok i was kinda bad at it, was waaay better at handball and volleyball (i can't run for my life)
anyway, thanks p.e teacher from middle school, all i know from most of the sports i watch is because of you, you were awesome (and crazy wtf we were like 13 the first time) sorry you had to yell at me so many times 🙏🏽 (although it was pretty fun to scape class to go run the back hill, even if all my p.e uniforms had holes on the knees 😂)

EVERYTHING about this post is perfect, the world needs more haikyuu ballet au
Haikyuu Ballet AU
THE POTENTIAL THIS HAS HOW HAS NO ONE DONE THIS BEFORE
This post is how I think the Karasuno 1st years (and Lev) would be if they did ballet instead of volleyball.
Fun fact, volleyball and ballet sound the same in Japanese! People shorten volleyball and say volley, which when you say it out loud sounds identical to ballet in Japanese. I got my inspiration when I was thinking about this lol
Don’t question why there’s so many guys doing ballet in a small town in Miyagi or how they’re getting such great training-
I don’t know that many male variations but I’ll link videos to variations I think would fit the character when I find them!
Part 2 soon!
Lev (the first i came up with and the easiest lmao)
was a competition dancer until someone told him he should do ballet
was like ‘what? no that’s boring’ until he saw a performance an fell in love
doesn’t know much technique but he’s working on it
has long legs and great extensions which would be STUNNING if he poinTED HIS FOOT
banana feet (Yaku: IM GONNA BREAK YOUR FOOT IF YOU DON’T START POINTING THEM)
turnout? what’s that a new trick?
“i’m gonna get the next lead role!”
adagio 💕💕
gets yelled at by Yaku to do his ab exercises and to “use yOUR GODDAMN LEGS YOU HAVE SPIDER LIMBS USE THEM TO THE FULLEST”
basically the dollar store version of that tall dude from the vaganova documentary
when he goes to ballet competitions (like YAGP Japan) people get intimidated bc he’s a tall, russian-looking dancer and then proceed to get their expectations get let down
 Hinata
jumps like a madman
just wants to do grande allegro
hangs in the air like gravity doesn’t affect him
like Lev he doesn’t have the best technique bc he didn’t go to a good ballet school until now
but for some reason can do double tours and those crazy beats
doesn’t have partnering experience bc he’s too short for most girls
travels like CRAZY he’ll go from one end of the stage to the next with like 2 balancés
is he really human why does he have so much stamina
gets minor injuries from landing weirdly from jumps a lot
INTENSELY watches people during class to figure out how they’re doing the things they’re doing
sucks at turning, balancing, and adagio
“Hinata you have to be calm, don’t try to force everything”
“I’M TRYING MY BEST TO RELAX ITS NOT WORKING”
put with Kageyama a lot in pieces
“Kageyama! Practice this part with me!”
gets told to not stand out so much when doing corps work
bluebird male variation
satanella variation-start at 4:50
Kageyama
ballet genius
turnout? over 180. technique? incredible. plies? the DEEPEST
is not the best at corps work
something happened with Kunimi and Kindaichi idk what
doesn’t have much experience with partnering but he’s getting really good
knows exactly where to place you so that you can do your best
his acting is…..interesting
his smile is terrifying to watch during rehearsals but it looks decent under the stage lights so its fine
not the most musical
i feel like he would be a turner
will do a quadruple pirouette and calmly land it but will be upset at himself bc he didn’t hold it in passe before landing
Tsukishima: you’re barely passing english, how do you know the meanings of all the french terms?
Kageyama: …..wait they’re french?
surprisingly really good at learning and remembering choreography
Tsukishima
is very precise about everything
when you watch him dance, every step is clear and clean
ALWAYS puts his leg behind him in arasabesque
the BEST at complicated footwork
not petit allegro, just those dances where you’re like “how did they transition from that to that???
very musical
really likes those dancy adagios where you just flow with the music
“theres a slim chance of becoming a professional how do you work so hard”
learns combos and choreography insanely fast
doesn’t partner much bc he needs more upper body/core strength
definitely brings those roller stick things EVERYWHERE and constantly complains about being sore
Yamaguchi
mostly does corps work
understudies practically EVERY role, always the first person that has to step in when someone is injured, sick, etc
really good at balancing
yknow those videos of people balancing on bosu balls on relevé arabesque and holding it for 3 minutes?  yeah that
has the SWEETEST smile onstage
does solos for community shows often
likes character dances
loves the variety of music and movement, especially the slavic styles
Yachi
slightly terrified of partnering, always blames it on herself when it goes wrong
freed pointe shoes
REALLY fast at sewing them
lowkey terrifying when she’s banging them against the ground to break them in
hardly makes any sound when landing from jumps
actually likes hops en pointe and is really good at them
good at quick, spritely roles
petit allegro queen ✨✨✨
has a precise ritual that she HAS to do before every performance to calm her nerves
fairy of musicality
cupid variation

TEXT ME: SHOYO x Y/N (part 4ish)
series
(cw: est relationship, post timeskip, fingering, piv sex)
(a/n: so in my mind they started dating in hs, and then timeskip happens as reader starts studying ballet in college!)
words: 1.2k
****
“I know why your college cast you,” Shoyo says as he turns his head away from the TV screen, “It’s because of how…romantic you are! He says it like it so earnestly, it makes your breath catch in your throat.
“What do you mean?”
Shoyo points to the paused video of Swan Lake.
“She’s smiling and frowning and moving around like all fwoopy! And swishy!!” He says enthusiastically, flapping his arms in demonstration. You stare for a second, processing his explanation. “Like!!!” He continues, bouncing in his seat. He’s got this excited, sunshine grin. “Like she really is a swan!”
“You’re right,” you say, chewing your lip, “She is a swan.”
Shoyo nudges his shoulder into you. “And so are you! Can we practice those spinny things later?” He’s radiating joy.
Smiling, you lean into him. “Sure! We can use the studio this weekend.”
Shoyo grins, and presses play.
You both watch the video for a few minutes more, his hand on your waist. You’re sitting on the edge of his bed. He smiles and points at the screen when the prince helps Odette spin: his hands supporting her waist as she double-triple-quadruple pirouettes. “I wanna do that!” He says excitedly. He smiles widely, before grabbing your waist with both of his hands. He snickers as he pulls you over into his lap.
“Sho!” You gasp, cheeks heating at the sudden physical contact.
“I like holding you like this,” he confesses lowly. His breath puffs hot on your shoulder. He presses a kiss to the side of your neck. “Even when we’re not dancing.”
You bite your lip, and nod.
“Same.”
Shoyo starts kissing up your neck, mouthing at the place behind your ear. “Mmm…,” he moans softly, enjoying the sensation of your soft skin beneath his lips. “Smells good,” he rasps. His hands tighten on your waist as he readjusts your weight on his lap. He’s got you pulled up against his chest, his legs on either side of yours. His hands start to wander.
“Shoyo!” You gasp again. His strong, warm hands are fondling your chest, even as the ballet still plays in the background. He snickers, and softly bites at your shoulder. His hips buck up just a bit, just enough for you to feel how hard he’s getting.
“Whaaaat?” He drawls out, “Don’t like me?” He palms at your tits, feeling their heft in his hands. Your breaths come shallow and hot.
You pout, wriggling in his grasp.
“Course I like you…,” you whimper as your back arches. His thumbs are at your nipples now, rubbing in circles over your t-shirt. “It’s just—mm!—so much!”
Hinata giggles, and shifts backward on the bed. He lies down, twisting you around so you’re straddling his hips. His hands go firmly around your waist as he grins. He kicks his chin up: a challenge. “You lead then.”
You whimper.
“No fair,” you whisper as you lean down to kiss his hair. You wrap your arms around his neck, and slowly start to grind your hips on his.
“What’s not fair, baby?” His voice is raspy, low. His hands dance up and down your back, before resting on your ass. He squeezes as he guides you back and forth on his clothed cock. You’re heated, hot, and hazy.
Damnit.
“It’s too hot,” you say, hiding your face in his neck. His skin is warm beneath your lips. “You’re playing dirty,” you say with a pout.
Shoyo laughs: a loud, breathy sound.
He pumps up into you once, twice, before landing a slight slap on your ass. “Who said anything about playing fair?” He asks with a crooked smile. His eyes are cinnamon—deepened dark with his pleasure.
“Mm!”
Hinata starts speeding up a little. “In fact,” he says, hands gripping you tightly, “I bet you like it when I play dirty, hah?” His thumb trails down to start fidgeting with the button of your shorts. His face is flushed as you pull back to stare at him.
“Hm, baby?” He asks again, “Ya like it when I’m naughty?”
You gulp, and shyly nod.
Shoyo snickers, eyes crinkled shut.
“S’what I thought.”
He whispers as he undoes your shorts. He makes quick work of pulling them off your legs, so he can bury his hand between them.
“Sho!”
You cry out indignantly as his fingers swiftly find their way inside you. He sighs as your wet pussy sucks them in like it’s welcoming them home.
“There we go,” he coos, smiling widely. He cants his hips up, speeding his pace as he finger fucks you. “Let go f’me, sweetheart~”
So you do.
How could you possibly deny him?
“Sweet girl,” he singsongs as his fingers deftly push you over the edge. They’re curled and fluttering, slowing down as he watches you cum. You’re sweaty, panting, and shaking as you steadily come down. You shiver.
“Sh-Shoyo~,” you moan his name as you slump forward over him. He reaches his hand between you to start tugging his own sweatpants down.
“Shh, pretty girl,” he says, stroking your slick entrance with the swollen head of his cock. “Lemme take care of ya,” his eyebrows furrow in pleasured concentration. You both sigh in unison as he sinks himself inside you.
“Shoyo—!” You whine as he starts to move. His thrusts are shallow and slow as he warms you up. It isn’t long before he’s hitting it nice and deep, though.
“Mmm~!” He moans, head tossed back into the pillow. His face is sweaty—all rosy as he fucks you.
As for you, you’re gasping and cumming in no time. He’s your favorite cock: your favorite hands, your favorite person.
He fucks you into starlight.
“Shoyo—ahh!”
He snickers as he makes you cum, speeding up now to match your pace. He’s athletic with stamina to spare, so you just do your best to hold on. His thighs slap against your ass, clapping loudly throughout your bedroom. His hands are sunk into your hips, forearms flexing as he holds you up.
“Atta girl,” he mumbles, eyes closed, “Cum f’me…”
His raspy voice and panting breaths are hot—hotter than fire—and you shake as he makes you cum.
You scream his name.
You hope to god your apartment walls are sound proof.
Does it matter if they aren’t?
“Shoyo…,” you whimper, nudging your hips back and forth on his cock. “Can’t cum anymore…fill me up? Please?” You pout down at him with sparkly eyes, and something inside him changes.
Your heartbeat quickens as you watch his eyes darken.
“Fuck yeah,” he growls, grabbing your ass hard and pounding up into you. “Gonna fill you up, slutty girl,” his voice cracks, “Fill you up so good—!” His eyes squeeze shut as he pumps his seed inside you.
Shoyo—
“Ahh!” Your toes curl as the warm sensation fills you. You both pant as your shared orgasms subside. “So…good…”
“Mhmm~!” Shoyo hums in delight. His face is flushed, his hair is sweaty, and his blue t-shirt is still rucked up over his chest. His abs shine in your bedroom’s overhead lighting.
You drag a hand down his sculpted chest, absentmindedly groping his strong muscles as you catch your breath. “So hot f’me, Shoyo…”
“Mm, so hot for me, pretty girl,” he smiles as he sits up. You gracelessly pull yourself off his cock. He giggles at the sound you make.
“Shut up,” you scowl at him before going to get cleaned up.
****
The ballet still plays forgotten in the background.

What are the state of the rooms of the kamukuras? If they even have them (this is pointed at Kyoko, who seems to live in the walls). Do they share the same rooms? Nagito would likely do that once or twice. Or do they make specific portions of the house "theirs"? Do they keep items from their old lives-like Makoto's old books and games that he no longer has an interest in-or do they completely abandoned them-like Mahiru would. I like thinking about how one would decorate and organize, and the kamukura project is a perfect example of how that would change.
Oh boy, a new Kamukuras AU ask!
(Kamukuras AU Masterlist)
I love this question.
Addressing Kyoko first, she "has" a room, in that there's a bedroom designated as hers, but there is no physical evidence that she's ever been inside it. She does actually visit it regularly, just to see if anyone else has been inside. Like checking one's email inbox. But she doesn't sleep there. No one knows where or when she sleeps, any more than they know where she is at any other given time. Leaving a note in her room (or a less straightforward message, like moving something a centimeter out of place) is a good way to get her to eventually come talk to you. Calling for her out loud just annoys her.
Since it's Byakuya's house, he kind of has big hotel manager energy toward the whole place. There is a bedroom that was already his before the procedure, and he has kept all of the contents from that time, including schoolwork he no longer needs and trinkets that no longer interest him. Since returning from the labs, he hasn't thrown anything away that was in his bedroom. But he did meticulously sort it and tidy up. Now, that bedroom is like a museum to who Byakuya Togami was.
He doesn't really sleep in his bedroom either. He usually sleeps in the library, constructing a temporary sleep area for himself that he will tidy up as soon as he wakes, and casually setting up a few traps that should theoretically prevent any of the other Kamukuras from bothering him while he's sleeping, but he has been known to wake with Nagito cuddled against him. That's an ongoing battle of theirs; sometimes Nagito's stealth thwarts his traps, and sometimes his traps thwart Nagito's stealth.
Whatever the case, if he wakes with Nagito next to him, 50% of the time he'll push Nagito away. If Makoto is also there, he usually won't push Makoto away.
Izuru has a bedroom and uses it, to sleep and store his clothes. He doesn't really have possessions other than his clothes and grooming tools; if he buys or finds something that he takes home, he gives it to one of his successors. They're his interest, after all. His collection. So there's nothing to decorate his room that wasn't there before him. Even if he wanted Hinata's possessions, they were disposed of by the school back when he went missing.
Also, he doesn't tidy his room. He doesn't make up his bed or dust anything or vacuum. There are others in the house who care about that kind of thing. He lets them. Oftentimes, Nagito or Nagisa will be seen cleaning Izuru's room.
The other Kamukuras often sleep in Izuru's bed. It's open to any of them. Usually, it's Makoto and/or Nagito. Sometimes the child Kamukuras crawl in, especially if they're scared of something or have nightmares.
Nagito has customized his room, redecorated it, renovated it. It is a ship of Theseus room; no part of it is the same as it was before him. He's got all kinds of hobby stuff in there: puzzles, paddle-ball, plants, a metal pole that was installed horizontally for ballet one day and vertically for pole dancing one day and now seems to have been incorporated into a mixed media sculpture. Some days it's all thrown carelessly around, some days it's perfectly arranged and neat as a pin.
He also doesn't sleep in his room. He's always trying to sleep with Izuru, Makoto, Mahiru, or Byakuya. Or trying to start a cuddle pile (like in this post), in which case he wants everyone to join in. Meaning he needs to plan ahead and use Makoto to lure out Kyoko and Byakuya.
He might have grabbed a few possessions that belonged to his previous self. If he ever went back to his old house or dorm, there would be at least one thing that he picked up on a whim. He doesn't have a sentimental attachment to that Nagito Komaeda, but he can be interested in pretty much anything.
Mahiru usually sleeps in her room. She's kind of adopted normalcy as a hobby, so she slips in and out of it. She decorated her room based on a personality she made up for her "outdoor" self. So it's like, she decided on a favorite color. Actually, she decided on two: a normal, common favorite color (purple) and a color she would have chosen as her favorite in the absence of her consideration for normalcy (brown). And that's her color scheme.
Her bedroom decor is magazine-worthy. Sometimes she wonders if the dead Mahiru Koizumi would feel tempted to photograph it.
At some point in the decorating process, she finds she has a slight imbalance in the distribution of colors. She needs more brown. And she also needs a rustic element to suit the personality she's given herself. The person she's being is a bit on the prim side, as represented in the purple crystal vase, but she's also got an edge to her that isn't yet represented. And this happens to be at a time when Nagito is practicing taxidermy, so she spends an evening working alongside him, and there is a stuffed squirrel displayed in her room. The perfect shade of brown.
(Nagito suggested filling the crystal vase with walnuts, to hearken to the diet of Sciurus lis, and Mahiru does. To offset the new color imbalance this creates, she buys another purple candle.)
The child Kamukuras also sometimes come to her room to sleep, if they're scared.
And like you said, she doesn't keep anything that was Mahiru Koizumi's.
Makoto, kind of similar to Byakuya, has a room filled with his own old things, either taken from his dorm room or his old classmates. He studies them, sometimes. He needs to learn how to be Makoto Naegi for them, after all. He tries to keep things slightly cluttered, since he's seen what Makoto Naegi's dorm room looked like. It wasn't especially messy, but it was flawed. He does his best to imitate the flaws. The untucked sheets under the tidy comforter, the ends of loose leaf paper sticking out of textbooks, the desk chair out of place.
He sleeps in his bed when no one tells him any different, but often Nagito or Izuru will call on him to sleep with them. Sometimes Nagito climbs into bed with him, sometimes the children seek refuge there (or if they're all awake, they might "abduct" him to sleep in their room; it makes them feel powerful to kidnap Makoto from his bed; way more powerful than climbing in with someone else).
And sometimes he'll wake in the middle of the night and find that Kyoko has climbed into bed with him. (She's gotta sleep somewhere, and she trusts him.)
All the child Kamukuras share a room. They have separate beds but often share.
Monaca and Nagisa don't own possessions.
Kotoko and Masaru have a lot of little trinkets and toys and devices, and Kotoko collects stray animals in her closet. (They have separate closets.)
Jataro doesn't really have possessions in the normal sense, but his tendency to take things apart has resulted in him collecting things like, a key from a keyboard, a screw from a piece of furniture, a doll arm, some scraps of broken plastic and torn rubber, tons of tiny springs, etc. Sometimes he makes stuff with them, but usually he's more focused on unmaking things. The other kids have to guard their possessions from his habit.
Their room is kept tidy, mostly because of Nagisa, though the others will contribute if one of the older Kamukuras ask them to.
Masaru paints murals on the walls.

hello! as a dancer, i would like to kindly ask who do you think is secretly the best dancer in haikyuu?
okay okay okay
happy valentine's first of all!!
second of all, my only experience with dance was ballet when i was 3 SO idk if I'm qualified to determine the BEST??
and i'm not sure if you meant like, specific style, so I'll try to incorporate a bunch/keep it vague. also the best dancers are kinda sprinkled throughout, it's not really a straight answer, I'm sorry!! ig the ones in all caps are my opinion of the best dancers.
this was so fun to think about and write!! thank you for the request and sorry it took so long to post!!!
{Haikyuu characters that know how to dance and those who don't- HCs}
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD, I think he would be good at ballroom dancing. His parents definitely made him take lessons when he was a kid and either hated it and endured it or secretly enjoyed it and never let on. no one could figure it out. but when you're at some fancy event with him and he suddenly leads you onto the dancefloor and starts waltzing along with the other couples, you're pleasantly surprised.
SAKUSA (he is so smug about it when you get slightly flustered when he pulls you close and marvel at how good he is), Osamu (didn't mind it, but would never admit it, especially to tsumu. likes to dance with you) and Atsumu (hated it back then but loves it now that he has you for a partner at the fancier galas), KITA (the one who actually didn't hate it and wasn't afraid to admit it and ofc he's amazing at it), Oikawa (definitely dressed up for his classes), Akaashi (he is SO SMOOTH), Aran and surprisingly even to me, Kageyama. DAICHI.
he would be good, but only because before he started with volleyball, his parents needed something to keep him active and busy. he was the definition of a fidgety kid. no specific style bc obviously he eventually got into volleyball. but he's good at keeping a rhythm, definitely doesn't have two left feet. knows how to follow basic choreography, probably.
HINATA (okay he's clumsy but not when he's dancing), tanaka, NOYA, BOKUTO, kyotani (he'll never admit it tho), hanamaki (seijoh will tease him for it until they learn oikawa willingly wore a suit to his classes even if it wasn't madatory), Tendou.
has never taken a dance class but is surprisingly decent at staying on beat when you're dancing together. either in a club/party setting or just dancing in your living room, they can definitely move.
MATSUKAWA, SUNA (tho only you know it, he'd rather die than let the twins find out), Sugawara, KUROO (I WILL REST ON THIS HILL, I WANT TO DANCE WITH HIM), Yaku, SEMI. Kiyoko. Iwaizumi. (iwa and mattsun are crazy good imo).
CANNOT DANCE TO SAVE THEIR LIFE, but will try anyway bc they know it makes you laugh. will probably be sitting out at parties unless you insist everyone is too drunk to care how bad someone is at dancing.
kenma, USHIJIMA (he needs to be bad at something and that something is dancing sorry), YACHI, Asahi, Alisa, LEV, Tsukki, Yamaguchi, KUNIMI, kindaichi.
side note: hinata and oikawa definitely picked up more moves in brazil and argentina respectively. they can dance. thank you that is all.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope this was okay!!! Wishing you a happy valentine's day <333

Kingdom Hearts OC Week Day 6 - Alphabet Prompt - Fairy
Tumblr media
We’re nearing the end of @khoc-week and I’ve had such a lovely time this year. One more day to go!
But for today, it’s Fairy Hinata!
This is Hinata’s Christmas Town design, She became the Sugar Plum Fairy from the Christmas ballet, Nutcracker. When she arrives in Christmas Town, she struggles to control her wings. They arrive there fresh out of escaping the nightmares and Hinata is working through a lot of anxieties from it.
I had the idea that the magic in Christmas Town works similarly to that of Neverland. Rather than being an elemental power, it instead revolves around your emotions. At first, Hinata’s wings make her thrash around and fly without even meaning to. She has no control over them due to all of her pain and uncertainty. But as she works things out, she realizes it’s connected to her heart.
"I'm not sure if your flight works the same way mine does, but from what I've learned, it's a special kind of magic. Rather than being an outside element you can draw on, it's rooted inside your heart." Hinata placed her hand along her chest and closed her eyes. "If you focus, you can feel it there, faintly. It's like an echoing beat of your heart."
It takes her a bit to figure this out on her own. She has a bit of help from a couple of baby reindeer she’s told she has to train how to fly by Santa’s grumpy head elf Hermey.
Below the cut, I’ll post the scene from Chapter 26 of Forgotten Traveler. First though, I’ll reshare the reference of Hinata’s Christmas Town design that @amyhayanora and I co-designed.
Tumblr media
Scene from Forgotten Traveler Chapter 26
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Whistling wind swirled around Hinata, making her flight up the mountain more difficult than it already needed to be. She squinted her eyes against the ridgid snowfall. The golden glow from the reindeer cabin lighted her way, beckoning her through the storm. She wanted to grumble to herself about how she got herself into this situation and even more unsavory things about Hermey in particular, but the prospect of getting a mouthful of ice kept it confined to her thoughts.
Her wings buzzed against her back, their movement only creating more of a breeze for the snow to get caught up in. Still, the chill of the cold wasn't hitting her as harshly as she expected it would. It was even more surprising given the lack of layers the magic drive dressed her in. Candycane swirl leggings and a short puffy dress didn't exactly spell out warmth, but somehow they did the trick to keep Hinata from being bitten by the frost.
The reindeer cabin began to take shape up ahead, though difficult to make out through the blizzard. It was built into the mountainside, much larger than it seemed from the ground. Hinata tried to make out its details, but decided to instead focus on the glow to light her way. She pushed forward, determined to get out of the snow. As she neared the mountain she noticed snowflakes landing on what appeared to be nothing but air. She tilted her head and slowed to a stop, noticing more and more snowflakes landing on an invisible dome right in front of her.
Reaching out her hand she tentatively touched the snowflakes and a shimmer of iridescent light rippled across the dome. With an excited flutter to her wings, Hinata flew forward. For a single moment a wet sensation covered her body. She gasped, blinking wildly before realizing there wasn't a speck of snow falling in front of her.
With a grin, she spun around and gently waved her hand through the dome barrier. The iridescent light sparkled around her fingers. "Magic, of course." She brought back her hand and rubbed her fingertips together. "I should have known."
Without the howling wind, Hinata could hear the crackling of a fire and the clop of reindeer hooves not far behind her. A spark of excitement ignited inside of her and she turned around, finally able to see the cabin in its entirety. Thick logs and panels made up its exterior, creating several buildings, each connected and decorated to the nines with garland and candy canes. In the center of it all appeared to be the landing platform. It jutted out with polished wood, reflecting the light of the fireplace further in.
Hinata made her way towards it, struggling to lower onto the platform itself once she arrived. A few of the elves inside paused their chores, watching amused as Hinata kicked her feet in an attempt to reach the floor.
"Calm down, calm down," Hinata muttered under her breath, coaxing herself to relax.
Her wings gradually slowed and she stumbled onto the platform. Clearing her throat, she stood up straight and smoothed out her dress, flashing a smile to all the staring elves. They chuckled before getting back to work.
Walking further in, Hinata went towards the fireplace. Handmade stockings hung from the mantle, each one embroidered with a different reindeer name that Hinata recognized from carols—except for two smaller stockings on the end that read Holly and Jolly.
"Even the reindeer get presents." She ran her thumb over the embroidery, smiling to herself.
"Sweet Jiminy Christmas!" A woman's heavily accented voice spoke up behind her. "Hermey told me we'd be gettin some help around here. Coulda told me it would be the Sugar Plum Fairy herself!"
Hinata looked over her shoulder, taking a moment to remember to glance down to see an elf beaming up at her. The elf seemed older than any of the other elves Hinata had seen, with a knitted shawl wrapped around her shoulders and gray hair done up in a bun with a pair of candy canes. Hinata's smile grew at the sight of her and she turned around completely before kneeling to be eye level with her.
Before Hinata could say anything, the elf patted Hinata's hand. "We are just so happy to have ya dear. Look atcha, done up like the princess ya are in the play."
"Thank you," Hinata quickly cut in before the woman continued. "But actually, you should know I'm not the fairy from the play. I look like her, but I'm not actually her. I don't want anyone to feel like they have to treat me differently because they think I'm the performer."
The woman blinked a few times. "Well that don't make a lick of sense."
Hinata stifled a laugh. "Fair." She mulled it over for a moment, before saying, "Well I suppose we'll just say, don't feel like you need to give me any special treatment?"
She pointed towards Hinata. "That I do understand. What should I tell everyone to call ya?"
"Hinata is fine. And you are?"
"Josie, or Granny Jo accordin' to the youngins around here that think they're funny." She shook her head and whispered, "They're not."
"Josie it is," Hinata replied with a laugh.
Josie chuckled and sent her a wink before turning around. "Well then, follow me Hinata. I'll show ya to Holly and Jolly."
Hinata found out rather quickly that taking normal steps would put her ahead of Josie, so she considerably slowed her pace and took the time to instead look around. Elves scurried past them, much faster than Hinata's guide, with stacks of hay and buckets of oats balancing precariously in their arms. Entering the adjacent building to the landing zone, Hinata finally got to see the reindeer for herself. They were thinner than she expected them to be—with twig-like legs and narrow heads—but still just as cute as she imagined. Each one had its own spacious stable, decorated with carrots done up with ribbons. Then in front of each door hung a hand painted sign with their name in calligraphy.
Past the stables they entered a cylindrical room. A staircase spiraled up along the walls, leading to ledges Hinata had to crane her neck to see. Cushions and piles of hay covered the floor, making it difficult to walk, and as Hinata went further in, she realized the walls were padded too.
"This here is where you'll be trainin the little guys," Josie said.
Hinata nodded. "This seems like the perfect place for it."
"Sure is." Josie sighed with a smile, then clapped. "Welp, I'll be seein ya. Got things to do."
"Oh"—Hinata glanced over her shoulder—"who is the elf I should be waiting for?"
"What elf?" Josie asked.
Hinata chuckled nervously. "The one that I will be helping train Holly and Jolly?"
Josie stared back at her as if something strange had crawled onto Hinata's face. A silence stretched and Hinata kept waiting for a reply, hoping Josie's old age gave her a momentary lapse in memory.
"It's just me…?" Hinata finally asked.
Josie crossed her arms. "See anyone else 'round here that can fly?"
Hinata sucked in her lips and blew them out with a pop. "I think there might have been a slight miscommunication somewhere—I'm happy to help, but I am not qualified, in any way, to handle this by myself. I don't know what Hermey told you—"
"He told me you'd try to get out of it," Josie interrupted with a cackle of a laugh. "Oh that old coot is usually a pain in my rump, but when he's right it's a hoot."
"I promise I am not trying to get out of it," Hinata quickly addressed. "All I'm saying is that I just learned to fly half an hour ago."
"You made it here!"
"Barely!"
Josie tapped her foot impatiently, a similar habit Hinata attributed to Hermey, but perhaps, she realized, should be more appropriately attributed to elves in general. "Why did ya fly all the way up here if ya weren't plannin on helpin?"
"Once again, I am happy to help," Hinata explained. "I just don't think I should be expected to train alone. Unless you for some reason expect your new upcoming reindeer to fly uncontrollably. Because that's what you will be getting with me in charge."
With a roll of her eyes, Josie waved her off and turned to walk away. "You're sellin yourself short, sweetheart."
"I'm really not!" Hinata called as a pair of wooden doors shut behind Josie.
The scrape of the doors against the floor grated against her ears. She winced from the sound, then found herself completely alone. Blowing out a breath, she backed up several steps until she was in the center of the room.
"Not the worst place to be left, I guess," she mumbled. "Should I just leave?" She craned her neck to see the higher platforms. "One of those has to have a way out…"
A way out…
The halls of Kamino flashed through her mind and with a sharp breath, Hinata wound her arms around herself. She shivered, swallowing thickly. Suddenly, even the vaulted ceiling seemed much too confining.
Hinata's feet lifted off the ground. Her entire body careened side to side, smashing into the wall. She gripped the extra fabric of the cushioned wall and steadied herself, only then realizing how loud her heart pounded in her ears along with her wings batting erratically behind her.
"Get a hold of yourself," she scolded under her breath, a lump choking her throat.
Even with the chiding, her wings continued, lifting her higher against her control. Then the doors scraped against the floor and a pair of fluffy reindeer trotted excitedly into the training arena. They were considerably smaller than the fully grown reindeer Hinata had seen earlier. Their coats were still fuzzy and their eyes large and innocent. They hopped around, their bleats bouncing off the walls as they searched for something, or someone. Hinata's grip on the wall lessened considerably. Her shoulders relaxed and her wings slowed.
"I'm up here," she called down to them, realizing her entire body was beginning to lower as her wings subsided. Kneeling to their level once she reached the ground, she giggled as both the reindeer immediately jumped into her lap. They were so soft, she thought. "Holly and Jolly, I take it?"
With a bleat, they both puffed out their chests, proudly showcasing the shimmering name tags fastened around their necks. Holly was just a bit smaller than Jolly, Hinata noted, and noticeably fluffier; while Jolly had a darker shade of fur.
"Well I don't have a fancy name tag," she said, "but I'm Hinata. I'm going to try my best to help you both learn how to fly."
They hopped out of her lap and sat like a dog would awaiting a treat. Hinata looked between them with an amused and curious smile as she stood back up. She brushed off the loose straw stuck to her dress and surveyed the room. The pinstriped stair railing caught her eye and she turned back towards her students.
"Alright, so, maybe let's start with seeing where both of you are at." She clapped her hands together in front of her, attempting to seem like she knew what she was doing. "Show me how far up the staircase you can fly and we'll go from there."
She watched their reactions, unsure how much they could understand. Jolly seemed to get enough of a jist as he stood up and shook his body, sending straw in every direction, much to Holly's dismay. Wiggling his tail, he readied himself before leaping forward. Hinata backed up, expecting a flight, but instead Jolly flopped straight to the ground.
"Ah," she realized. "So we're really new to this." Kneeling back down, she helped Jolly up then folded her hands in her lap. "Which is ok. I'm new to it, too. Maybe we can figure it out together."
Holly whined in such a way that it seemed like asking a question. Hinata looked at her and stifled a laugh at her tilted head.
"Yeah, I'm not a very experienced flier or teacher, for that matter," Hinata confessed with a lopsided smile and a shrug. "But I'm here and you two need help, so, let's figure it out."
Holly and Jolly awaited her instruction, or maybe they didn't have a clue what Hinata was babbling about and were entranced by the strange tall fairy talking to them. Both seemed equally likely in Hinata's mind, but she continued regardless.
"I'm not sure if your flight works the same way mine does, but from what I've learned, it's a special kind of magic. Rather than being an outside element you can draw on, it's rooted inside your heart." She placed her hand along her chest and closed her eyes. "If you focus, you can feel it there, faintly. It's like an echoing beat of your heart."
She peeked an eye open and was pleasantly surprised to see both of their eyes shut.
"Can you feel it?" she asked, grinning when both of them opened their eyes and nodded enthusiastically. "That's great! That's the magic that will help you fly. It's tricky to control, it's something I'm still working on myself, but that's the root of it."
She moved her legs from under her so she could sit completely and leaned forward, knowing now they could fully understand her. "Ok, so, the tricky part is that your emotions can interfere with it depending on how intense or sudden they are. That's something that will probably get better with practice and understanding. Intense emotions send you flying like crazy, calming down slows things—well, down. But to start, just focus on that beating magic and reach out to it. See what happens."
Holly and Jolly looked at each other, then shut their eyes. Hinata waited in nervous anticipation, drumming her fingers against her leg. Her wings batted against her back, but not frantic enough to lift her off the ground. A warm glow emanated from Jolly's coat. His fur fluffed as if air was being blown up from underneath him. Then his body raised off the ground, his legs hanging limply beneath him, until he opened his eyes and realized where he was. He cheered, kicking his hooves and prancing through the air.
Hinata gasped. "Yes!" she cheered along with him, flying up beside him without even having to try. Her wings glowed brilliantly behind her, along with her tattoo against her cheek. She hardly noticed between the sheer joy elating her heart and the sight of the tiny reindeer dancing around the room. "That's it, Jolly!"
A crash beneath them cut through Hinata's excitement. Looking towards the sound, she spotted Holly just a few inches off the ground, flailing her legs wildly, kicking straw and cushions across the room. Hinata swooped down and grasped Holly's sides, steadying her. Holly bleated with frustration, her entire body drooping.
"Hey, it's alright." Hinata cradled Holly in the nook in her arm. "You should have seen me the first time I realized I had wings—which admittedly was not that long ago.."
Holly whined, her body trying to rise higher, but Hinata held her in place. She could sense the magic emanating off of Holly's body. It felt different from Jolly's, which was warm and infectious with joy. Instead, Hinata sensed it was nearly identical to hers—uncontrollable like a whirlwind. Letting out a breath, Hinata lowered both of them to the ground, noting how much easier it was than before but she wasn't sure why.
Sitting quietly beside Holly, Hinata watched Jolly continue to fly above them. He kicked off the walls, twirling and dancing while continuing to cheer. The sound bounced off the walls and though it made Hinata smile, she couldn't help but notice how Holly only seemed to retreat further into herself from it.
"You've been having a hard time, haven't you?" Hinata asked softly. Holly let out a heavy breath and Hinata gently scratched the fur behind her ears. "I'm sorry."
Hinata wasn't sure what to say next. There were plenty of platitudes she could express, encouragement and promises that things would work out. But every time she thought of one, it wisped away with not being genuine enough. Though she was sure Holly's inner turmoil wasn't nearly as life altering as her own, even telling her she'd figure it out seemed wrong to say.
"You can't… let it control you," Hinata said finally. "That doubt and frustration. Even if it seems like nothing is working the way you want it to. The best thing to do is to keep moving forward. Find the silver linings that make it all worth it and focus on that." She looked up at Jolly and chuckled. "You know, I think that's exactly why Jolly figured it out so fast. His optimism overpowered any doubts he might have had." Holly peeked up as Hinata continued, "I noticed it myself when I got excited to see him flying. Before it was difficult to control my wings, but in that moment it happened without a second thought." Hinata grinned and lifted Holly up to be at eye level. "That's what we're missing—joy!"
Holly blinked several times, tilting her head side to side. With a giggle, Hinata placed Holly back on the ground and knelt in front of her.
"I know that everything seems overwhelming right now, but think of the happiest thought. Think about why you're doing all of this, why you want to fly and who you're doing it for. Think about the presents and Christmas and all of the things that make you forget the rest of the world is even happening."
Before Hinata even finished talking a warmth emanated off of Holly's body. Her fur fluffed up just like Jolly's had earlier. Hinata could nearly cry, her hands clasped together in front of her mouth as she watched Holly lift off the ground. Holly fluttered her eyes open, looking around frantically before she lit up and twirled through the air.
"You're doing it, Holly!" Hinata called out, jumping up and down.
Jolly immediately noticed Holly up there with him and flew over to celebrate. Hinata watched from below, a grin clear across her face. Her wings fluttered behind her back, glowing softly and allowing her to hover. Looking over her shoulder at them, she hummed with an understanding appreciation, then flew up to join the reindeer. The happiness in her heart resonated around her. She could feel its warmth, the exhilarating life it rushed into her movements. Her wings were an extension of her, not something she needed to fight to control. She spun and flipped with a whoop, laughing at her childish antics, but continued as Holly and Jolly followed suit.
They went higher and higher, reaching the ledges that seemed so daunting and far away before. It wasn't long until they neared the rafters at the ceiling and where the spiral staircase reached its end.
"We did it!" Hinata cheered, grasping the rafter as Holly and Jolly arrived seconds later.
"Ya sure did!" Josie yelled, startling the three of them.
Hinata looked over to see a room the spiral staircase led to. There she saw Josie, along with all the stable elves and grown up reindeer awaiting them. Decorated tables of cake and presents stood in the center of them all, along with a banner that read, 'Congratulations Holly and Jolly!', across it.
The two young reindeer looked between each other with the biggest smiles Hinata ever imagined a reindeer could have. They flew over and Hinata followed. She landed behind them, smiling graciously as the elves thanked and congratulated her while a plate of cake was placed into her hands.
"What did I say?" Josie asked, nudging Hinata's leg with her elbow. "You were sellin yourself short."
Hinata smiled, watching Holly and Jolly show off their new flying tricks to the other reindeer. "I guess I was."

When someone joins the Ten Sages, they leave behind their name and take on a numbered title. For the vast majority of these characters, we never learn their original names.
In BlazBlue, we're given the names of One, Relius Clover, and Nine, Konoe Ayatsuki Mercury.
In XBlaze, we know the full name of Zwei, Marceline F. Mercury, and we can safely assume we know the family name of Sechs, Stroheim, but we don't know his given name.
The chances of us learning the names of any of the others are incredibly slim. But... it's kind of fun to think about, isn't it?
I've been thinking about names for the other Ten Sage characters we've gotten to know. Acht in particular is a character I find it easy to come up with ideas for.
Tumblr media
Under the cut, I'll share some of the thought process to why these names in particular stand out to me.
We know from Phase Shift that Ishana is a nation outside of the geopolitical world we know, untied to any modern country. The named Ishanans we know seem to be from different nationalities; Shuichiro is Japanese, the Stroheims seem to be of German ancestry, Elise's full name also suggests German heritage, Trinity and Celica's names are Western in General but could arguably be traced back to Latin origins, Marceline and the Mercury family name in general have a similar relationship with the general West and Roman origins, etc.
This makes me imagine Ishana as having a predominantly European culture, but one that has perhaps attracted people with magical potential from all the world's nations for generations.
With that in mind, I often find myself drawn to names from medieval European courtly romances, for that same kind of Western feel with a magicy twist. For Acht in particular, I really like the idea of giving her a name with ties to the fairy tales she seems so fixated on, in the way she talks about herself, Hinata, Touya, etc.
I'm also interested in giving her the name of some kind of tragic ballet heroine. Her role in the narrative can feel like that of a tragic heroine destined for despair, and the naming theme of her moveset in her only playable appearance (BBDW) centers around ballet and ballet terminology.
The same reasoning (the BBDW naming theme) draws me to French names, as all of her moves are in French.

KIYOKO was born on January 6th, 1997 to two parents in a small rural town in Japan. Her mother is a 1st-grade teacher and her father is an animator at an animation studio. She is the middle sibling and has one older sister and a younger brother.
She lived on a small farm with her grandparents as well as with her immediate family. She would often help her grandparents harvest and plant crops and would tend to the animals as well. For this reason, she dreamed of being a vet. Though, she had a passion for dance and was a ballerina. During a ballet recital, she was scouted by SM Entertainment and Starseed Entertainment but chose to go with Starseed after some contract conflicts with SM Entertainment.
She left her small town at the age of 17 and moved into the trainee dorms. She was known for being the most quiet trainee and she wouldn’t talk to many others or even go out with them. She became close to her group members though and if she was caught talking with anyone or going with anyone, it would be them. She was known for her mysterious allure and to this day, she is still not a talkative member in the company.

I didn't know Izumi hasn't had a center event yet :0
Perhaps a possible ballet-themed shuffle unit of Keito, Hajime, Hinata, Izumi, and Jun?
Just took my friend's strongest cards. They did say Izumi should be in center
I personally would very much like to see ballet Hajime...
yea out of all of knights izumi and tsukasa still don't have their unit center events yet. technically you could count xxveil as an izumi center though.
also a ballet themed shuffle sounds sooo fun i bet it would look so pretty<3 tbh i dont know what happyele plans to do now the that first rounds of shuffles are over, they might announce the next round at the 8th anni tsukisuta but idk. i would love to see izumi in that shuffle too but since he was already the center for midnight butlers i don't think he could get center again😔

10,000 miles away (yet I’ve never felt closer to you)
Kageyama tobio / Hinata shoyo
Rated T, 2.2k, post timeskip
...............
Outside of Tokyo Haneda Airport, a teary-eyed set of goodbyes are occurring between the Hinata family and their son; their, as Hinata’s parents would say with pride, star, who is moving across the world from their small town of Musashi Japan to Brazil: to improve strength and skill in order to pursue his dream of becoming a Professional volleyball player.
Hinata hugs his mother tight, “Mom, thank you for always believing in me. It was you who first let me play volleyball, and your constant love and support have gotten me to where I am today. I couldn’t have done it without you.”. He doesn’t mention it when he hears her sniffle slightly, just closes his eyes and hugs her tighter.
She pulls away and cups his face gently. “Shoyo, go do big things, my golden boy.”, she smiles and kisses him on the cheek, drying her eyes with a handkerchief.
He moves to his father, embracing him as well. “Love you, Dad. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me, what am I going to do without you?”, he smiles into his shirt.
His dad laughs, clapping a hand against Hinata’s back. “I’m sure you’ll figure something out. You’re a Hinata, there’s nothing you can’t do.”
A small force thunks against Hinata as his little sister tackles him, clinging to him as if she grips hard enough it’ll ground him to the island. “Why do you have to go so far away . . ? I’m gonna miss you so much, Sho.”, she mutters against his shirt, voice quivering with tears.
“I know Natsu, I’m going to miss you like crazy,” Hinata tells her, patting her head comfortingly.
“I’ll come home during the summers though, and maybe you can convince Mom and Dad to take a family trip to Brazil. If you come I’ll take you to a theater to watch a ballet performance, that’s a promise.
They have really fancy ones there you know? And make sure you get Dad to record every one of your recitals, I want to see them all.” She nods, sniffling into his t-shirt and leaving a damp patch behind.
Finally, he turns to Kageyama, his best friend of four years; and despite knowing what great opportunities Brazil will bring, Hinata finds himself wishing he didn’t have to say goodbye.
His heart hammers in his chest. The letter hidden in his jacket pocket suddenly feels as if it weighs a hundred kilograms; carrying the weight of years of longing glances, wistful daydreams, and secret feelings.
He wraps Kageyama in a bear hug and tries not to let emotions get the better of him, to focus instead on making this moment last. He smiles when he inhales and is hit with the scent of jasmine and sage, the smell of home.
For the last 4 years, they’ve been practically attached at the hip. For the next 2 years, they’ll go months without seeing each other, the longest separation of their lives (Excluding of course when they didn’t know each other).
He tries to keep things light and bury the thought that leaving Kageyama behind feels as unnatural as leaving his own head.
“Don’t you go replacing me while I’m gone, okay?”
Kageyama rolls his eyes and lightly punches Hinata’s shoulder. “As if I could. Nothing and no one could ever fill your dumb shoes.” His eyes are glossy with tears threatening to spill over, but Hinata pretends not to notice.
Kageyama hated showing vulnerability in front of anyone besides him, and he’d already cried plenty in Hinata’s bedroom last night which he proclaimed was “So embarrassing, I can’t believe I’m crying over you, Boke.”
Hinata pulls the letter out of his jacket and quickly presses it into Kageyama’s hands. It was now or never, his one perfect chance to confess everything he’s been too scared to say to Kageyama’s face, too tongue tied to even mutter in person.
“I wrote this for you. Don’t open it until you get home.”
His family gives him a knowing look, and he hopes he doesn’t look as sweaty as he feels when he responds with a pointed expression that screams "Please be subtle." Kageyama looks at him in confusion, but finally nods in understanding. They hug once more, heads tucked into the other’s shoulder, a final goodbye.
Hinata walks into the airport, turning to wave as the doors close behind him with a bittersweet smile on his face.
The airport processions go by without a hitch.
He checks in his luggage (Praying that nothing will be missing by the time he gets to Brazil), gets through security, and finds his gate with plenty of time to spare before his flight. Still, he feels a nervous stiffness throughout his body, each nerve ending a taut wire.
It was a huge decision he made, packing up his life and moving across the globe to follow his dream.
Well, one of his dreams.
He thinks of Kageyama and a future of waking up every day to the sight of him bathed in the
soft morning glow of sunrise, of golden bands sitting comfortably around their left ring fingers.
He thinks of the letter and how he poured out the contents of his heart in black ink against porcelain sheets of paper.
It had taken him dozens of times to get it just right, now he just hopes his feeling will reach Kageyama.
He decides to get Starbucks, perhaps some tea will help put him at ease. As he waits for his name to be called, he checks his watch. It’s been thirty-five minutes; Kageyama should be home by now.
Hinata wonders absentmindedly when he’ll read the letter, and whether or not he’ll hear from Kageyama before he boards.
That’s what he wants, or at least, he thinks it is.
Maybe it would be easier on him if he was already out of Japan when he finds out what Kageyama’s reaction is, but he’d rather carry a broken heart all the way to Brazil than have the other stress out waiting for Hinata to come down to earth and reply.
Miles away, Kageyama takes out the letter from his pocket.
He carefully rips open the vanilla envelope and extracts the folded pages, placing them down on the coffee table. Whatever Hinata has to say to him, it must be important.
He grabs the first page with a sigh, settles into the crook of his couch and begins to read.
My dearest Tobio,
.......
If you want to read what happens next, go check the story out here!

I was wondering will dissolve me have a updated?
Eventually. 😅 I'm still focused on other stuff and before I continue it, I want to research and immerse myself in the art of dance, because Hinata is a ballet dancer and I know I want to open the next chapter with her at practice, but I don't feel comfortable attempting it with the bare mininum understanding or, like, just pulling from a glossary of techniques. Like, I don't know shit about choreography, but I imagine there's some logic to it. And I vaguely understand that the body is telling a story, but I don't actually understand how. Dance has always gone over my head, but this Hinata is a ballet dancer regardless lol.
I'm kind of, to my own detriment, obsessively perfectionistic when I think it really matters and I just want to make sure it 'rings true'. 😓

TEXT ME: SHOYO x Y/N
series
(cw: reader is kenma’s older sister who does ballet)
(a/n: im so excited to be writing for this fandom. this is the first of a series! also im probably gonna do a timeskip so i can write smut)
words: 428
****
Hinata Shoyo’s head turns as a strange girl walks into Nekoma’s gymnasium. The teams are having a sparring match, just playing around as they practice with each other. It’s getting close to six pm: when most extracurriculars would usually be ending.
She has dark hair piled into a bun at the top of her head.
Someone calls Shoyo’s name as he just barely gets to a receive in time. His head is not in the game, as he watches the girl in pink tights and athletic shorts sit on the sidelines and pull out her phone. One strong leg is crossed over the other as she scrolls. Her pink tights end rolled up at her ankles; she has comfy, fur-lined shoes worn over bare feet. She’s wearing a tight black leotard with a bow knotted in the center of her neckline. She has—curves.
Shoyo swallows, and refocuses.
She stays at the sidelines until the match is over. Kenma jogs over to her, as she pulls out a chocolate bar from her bag. She hands it to him wordlessly, still looking at her phone.
Shoyo is walking closer without even realizing it.
“Hey!” He says, all smiles. She looks up at him and smiles back. She has pretty teeth.
“Hi,” she says, standing. She holds out her hand for him to shake. “I’m y/n, Kenma’s older sister.”
She’s shy, he can tell, by her small, gentle bird’s voice and her downturned lashes. But she shakes his hand and smiles at him all the same. When she meets his gaze, her eyes are bright. She’s smart, he thinks.
“Shoyo,” he says, “Did you see my spike?” He says it quickly, earnestly. Does she think he’s cool? “It went pow! And whoosh!! and blam!!” He makes the motion with his hand.
She shakes her head,
but
she’s smiling.
“Next time,” she says, hefting her tote bag over her shoulder. She has a jacket tied around her waist. Kenma has his own belongings now, too.
“Ready?” He asks in his low, softspoken monotone.
“Mhmm,” she hums, still staring at Shoyo. “Text me,” she says suddenly, handing him her phone. It’s open to a new contact page. “If you want.”
“Oh!! Sure!!”
He taps his digits into this pretty girl’s phone, and smiles as she walks away. She and Kenma start a small, gentle conversation as they leave.
Shoyo grabs his stuff, seeing her first text message: “y/n” so he has her in his contacts list. He sends back a volleyball emoji.
She sends a laughing face.
Shoyo smiles.
Cool.

Hi!! We’ve both been less active but I’m sure we both are still missing each other…how have you been, once again? I’m sure it’s very stressing to think about the idea of wedding now, it’s probably very frustrating too. I can’t confirm much for you, but I really hope and pray in my own way that someday you can fulfill that need, even if it’s not in the way you now wish it to be. These days are an example of that for me! I’ve always wanted to be a ballet dancer since I was a child (became an irl of a ballerina, you know!) but my mom could never afford or be able to bring me to classes, which frustrates me; I always wanted to be a professional dancer. Well, these days I got my first dance class! In fucking kpop!! And maybe it’s not what I wanted and maybe it’s not the career that I’ll have, but it still gave me so much happiness; it wasn’t exactly what I wanted for, but in the end it fulfilled and satisfied the little child in me. Ranting aside, I think that’s possible for you, too. Maybe the “picture perfect day” won’t be as you wish now, as you dream of; but maybe it’ll bring you just as much happiness you know? Wether it’s not a wedding, wether you fall in love with someone else in this reality, or even something else, I think it’s possible for you to find that happiness, somewhere, somehow. I can assure you! When we’re in the shit as teenagers we’ll always be scared, thinking that this truly will never end. But it does! Trust me, it does. I hope you’re feeling better now! About the uni thing I asked some days ago…damn I just remembered you’re America and you guys have to pay for your Universities and </3 I am so sorry?? If you could maybe move to Europe in the far future to study medicine maybe? I don’t know, but if I had a dream like that I’d want to chase it at all costs…but you should do what makes you happier and safer now! We’re young, we have time to dream. To change! This was a bit of a messy ramble honestly, but I’m still glad I put my thoughts out about this to you :} and I hope it brings some light to your ongoing day too!!

hi, im doing alright, just exhausted,, and i get what you're trying to say but i can't imagine myself falling in love with anyone else, let alone to the point of marrying them. even just considering it makes me feel sick, like im betraying hinata. i'd rather die
i've just been in the grief trenches the past few days, hence the elevated levels of complaining (my dad passed away 9 years and 3 days ago now, so its just. a rough time of year. it comes in waves)
and yeahyeah haha uni is EXPENSIVE here especially if you want to go to a good one, thats why im starting at community college and hopefully getting financial aid as well. the state im living in has a grant that pays for your full community college tuition if you get approved for it, which would be a LIFESAVER since the job search is taking for fucking ever /silly
and yeah, i could at some point move out there for med school, but i'm content with my current path in life i think. i can still work within the medical field even, working on in-house software and IT management and stuff like that. it's not what i wanted to do as a kid, but it's what i think will make me happiest. i cant handle being in charge of someone elses life, it'd burn me out too fast
im so glad you got to do your first dance class though!!! whether it turns into your career or you just end up doing it for fun, i hope you continue to have a wonderful experience.
