I'll start by admitting that I haven't actually watched that many shows that let the scenery play a big role. I don't love all these 5 shows equally, but I do love how scenery plays a big role in all of them.

I wanted to add my thoughts on the shows under a cut because there was a lot of rambling, but Tumblr wasn't interested in letting me, so here are some screenshots!

hellos, do u know any other anime like bakaramon?

for the familiy and comedy aspect, i think yotsuba is pretty similar to barakamon

for the theme of what it means to be an artist, what is talent etc, I recommend ping pong by taiyo matsumoto :) (has a great anime adaptation)

"our dining table" is also a cute 1 vol. bl about about two brothers who let a somewhat lonely guy into their lives its cute hehe (might have a live action adaptation?)

there was also another manga about a single father but i forgot the title, it was pretty vintage rip </3

you could also just watcht he spin-off Handa kun, it's about handa's life in high school its very very funny , even makes some barakamon references yippieeeeeeee (also has an anime)

I thought I knew what I was getting into when I joined this fandom, but the fandom keeps proving me wrong (looking at you WRH/JFM prompts & whatever is up with scum villain). I can't tell whether I should be impressed by the 'creativity' (some ideas and posts are really well thought out) or mentally screaming in second hand embarrassment/ morbid fascination at ideas that keep escalating into strange kinky nsfw pits I never knew existed.
