Daal Bafla (Halwai Style) is one of the most famous and loved dish among the people in Indore and other parts of Madhya Pradesh and Malwa. Dal Bafla is a soothing variation of Rajasthani Dal Baati and is usually served with Toor Dal Tadka, gatte ki gravy wali sabzi , aloo ki sabzi and coriander chutney, In Malwa Region in MP (India), in almost all of the gatherings and parties people make Dal Bafle which is a regional delicacy. It is a main course dish eaten with laddoos, choorma and ghee. This is a must have for anyone who is visiting the region and is an integral offering of hospitality for guests. The other version (with some variations) of this dish is also called as Dal Bati. Rajasthani feast is never complete without it.
Baati is directly baked in the oven, whereas Bafla is first boiled and then baked. This process of boiling before baking renders it a pleasantly soft texture in comparison to Baati.
It is very easy to cook and delicious to taste. So if you have guests coming at your home you can try to prepare this simple and tasty dish which is very easily prepared and requires a minimum of your time in kitchen. So that you can chit chat with your guests and at the same time prepare the food side by side.
