The Himalayan Balsam (Impatiens glandulifera) might be mistaken for another one of tiny, colourful niceties dotting the higher meadows in the flush of monsoon, but for a naughty streak that has it branded an invasive species in many a lands…

the seed pods ripen up to be sensitive thin shells that explode on very little pressure — the latin name does give out a hint —  dispersing its treasures, and the excessive nectar makes the air around a mushy kind of sweet, attracting pollinators, as well as kids rampaging around their childhood in its habitat…
