I know we posted about a Powertool Records (Auckland, New Zealand) just a few days ago. The Fuzzies (also based in Auckland) appeared on the compilation, but I've been listening to the "Cupid" EP since, and really, it deserves it's own mention.

The Fuzzies do have a New Zealand sound. I wouldn't say it's Flying Nun necessarily, but certainly it fits with the sound of some of the 21st century New Zealand bands - frankly it reminds me a bit of The Dark Beaks crossed with Bad Sav (both on the excellent Dunedin based label Fishrider Records). And if I was going to go back to Flying Nun, I would mention The Jean-Paul Sarte Experience at their most rocking.

Fig was finally starting to accept that she was going to keep growing up. The world was going to keep turning, everyone getting older, the seasons passing. She was never going to be that terrified teenager covered in blood again. For better or worse, she couldn’t ever go back. She was trying to get used to that idea, trying to accept it. Some mornings were easier than others. But then nights like this- giggling with Gorgug, stealing food off his fork, watching mindless youtube videos while the world grew dark outside- made the bad mornings easier to handle. Maybe that’s what growing up was. Figuring out how to handle everything the best you could.

ugh can you imagine beefy!fatgum instead of him being that super fit physique when he's not in quirk form?? still has that muscle mass with a nice amount of fat to pad him up. loves it when you rub up on him too, the way your fingers can grip onto his skin makes it so much easier to ride him. <3
