Right okay so-

Snapped strings is a timetravel au focusing on Sunstrike, Reedwhisker and Poppyfrost. Altogether about 22? Cats get sent back but Sun, Reed and Poppy are the protags.

They ended up in the past because the two cat afterlives fighting, killing other mortals and dead cats caused the timeline to snap, essentially. It would've been growing more unstable when the spirits got more involved with the clans lives anyhow.

They wake up in forest Windclan territory. Poppyfrost gets into a fight with a Windclan patrol and Reedwhisker is extremely confused, as he would actually recognise the forest, unlike Sunstrike and Poppyfrost.

Firestar is found running through Thunderclan territory after beating up Thistleclaw. His group consists of Whiskerpaw,Olivenose and Whitewater. They hang around near twolegplace and pretend to be kittypets. Yes they take on kittypet names.

The catchers live at the barn, which is at its pre-barley era.

Snowbird, Dovewing and Whitewing don't get a group until later. It's very sad. Also Dovewing is deaf now.

Breezepelt has become a babysitter.

Briarlight and Duskfur are in a group together.

The four clans group consists of Crowfrost, Kestrelflight, Icewing and Hazeltail. I have named them that because they're all from different clans.

The Actual reason why the lake cats are in the old forest was because this au was originally combined with another au I had (the snowtiger au) which was set in the forest and I just never changed it. There in-universe reason is that the snap happened just as tigerstar died so it got sent back to his era. Tigerkit time

Sunstrike, Reedwhisker and Poppyfrost become Sunny, Reed and Poppy because they're boring. They somehow join the clans, probably Riverclan. I was thinking maybe when they get Mistykit and Stonekit they see Reedwhisker and think he's the father considering the loner story we had for misty and stone. Not fully set on how they get in.

The catchers is Foxleap, Dapplenose and Starlingwing. They're barn cats who have the last name Catcher. They become Fox Catcher, Starling Catcher and Fish Catcher.

Firestar, Olivenose, Whiskerpaw and Whitewater hang around twolegplace and become Rusty, Mr.Whiskers, Olive and Puddles. Firestar suggested Mr.Whiskers. They meet Pinestar :)

Breezepelt and Lilykit are also a group because I think babysitter Breezepelt is funny. They become Wind and Lily and later join a clan because of Lilykit.

Briarlight and Duskfur are a group and become Briar and Dusk. Not sure where I want to place them yet.

The Four Clans also just adopt their prefixes.

Dovewing becomes Dove, Snowbird becomes Snowy and Whitewing becomes Slush.

So the cats who got sent back are: Firestar, Whiskerpaw, Olivenose, Whitewater, Sunstrike, Reedwhisker, Poppyfrost, Breezepelt, Lilykit, Briarlight, Duskfur, Kestrelflight, Crowfrost, Icewing, Hazeltail, Dovewing, Snowbird, Whitewing.

The general plotline is "Help Girl I'm In The Past" and just trying to undo this. Yet, some of these cats are supposed to be dead. So not every cat actually wants to go back. Some cats just prefer the forest to the lake. How are they actually going to get back? It seems like a bit of a lost cause to try.

So what do clan cats do when they're in a spot of trouble? Ask starclan for advice. Starclan's message goes all warbly and fucked up and something shatters in the distance.
