Happy Friday the 13th, Memphis! Here are the five things you won’t want to miss in Memphis this weekend, plus a few extras. Don’t forget to check out the Fall Events Guide, the Halloween/Haunted House/Fall Fest Guide, or the Oktoberfest/Beer Fest Guide. There’s also a Fall Break Guide with some special kid-friendly things going on this weekend and beyond. Read on to find out where this artwork came from. ^^ 1. Pink Palace Crafts Fair, Audubon Park, Friday – Sunday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., $9 adults / $7 seniors and military / $3 kids, family-friendly The 45th annual Pink Palace Crafts fair offers three days of outdoor artisan demonstrations in everything from candle making to metal-smithing), kids’ activities, eating and shopping at booths run by artists and craftspeople from around the country. Proceeds benefit the Pink Palace Museum. Note that the Fair is over at 5 p.m. on Sunday. 2. MEMFix: Madison Heights, Madison Avenue between Cleveland and Claybrook, Friday, 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., free, all ages/kid-friendly MEMFix is at it again with another neighborhood activiation, this time where the Medical District and Crosstown meet. Head over there on Friday for lunch or after work for tons of pop-up shops, open houses at existing spots, live entertainment, and lots and lots of food. 3. Cooper Young Beer Fest, 795 S. Cooper, Saturday, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m., $50, 21 and up There are only a couple tickets left for the 8th annual Cooper Young Beerfest, where you can taste brews from more than 30 regional breweries. All proceeds benefit the Cooper-Young Community Association. Go here for five reasons to attend this year. 4. Steamroller Printing Party, Five In One Social Club, Saturday, 1 p.m. – 8 p.m., free, all ages/kid-friendly Steamroller printing is back for another year at Five In One Social Club on Broad Avenue. Artists carve really awesome (seriously mind-blowing) images into giant wooden blocks, then use a steamroller to make prints. Click here to see all of the designs and make your orders. If you haven’t been in their shop, you really need to check it out. The Artwork: The print at the top of this post is from a Steamroller Print Party a few years back, artwork by Miguelito Equis. Photo courtesy of Five In One Social Club. 5. Memphis Food & Wine Festival, Memphis Botanic Garden, Saturday, 6 p.m. – 10 p.m., $200, 21+  This festival, now in its second year, will showcase exceptional food, wine, and music from Memphis as well as regional and national chefs. Enjoy samples from nearly 40 chefs, wine samples from about 40 wineries, and tons of great music.
