yo I'm still like in the process of drafting my letterboxd review of mean girls (2024) and I wanna make my review of that first before I go crazy on the lengthy analysis and critique rambles here but I need to get this off my chest right now. the main problem with mean girls (2024) is that it crosses the fine line between being concise and being rushed - and goddamn it is so rushed that it destroys the character establishment and development present in the original musical which fucking sucks because that is literally the og musical's greatest saving grace. so, to fuck that up in being so damn rushed is such a great disappointment personally and that's why my rating is 2.7 out of 5 stars-

#aND I FEEL BAD ABOUT GIVING THE MOVIE A RATING LOWER THAN 3 STARS #bECAUSE FRANKLY I DONT THINK THE CAST AND THE MUSICAL SEQUENCES (par stupid with love what the fuck was that) DESERVE THAT SCORE #BECAUSE IF I WERE TO RATE BASED ON THE CAST AND THE MUSICAL SEQUENCES ALONE - THE MOVIE IS EASILY A 4 STAR OUT OF 5 #bUT BECAUSE OF HOW RUSHED THE PACING IS GJDJD THE CHARACTERS PORTRAYED BY THE AMAZING CAST GET CAUGHT IN THE CROSSFIRE #anyways my main issue with the movie is the writing in between the musical sequences #otherwise i really enjoyed the movie like i really did! i loved the musical sequences and the cast was fuckin great!!!#however i am a writer first and foremost so fjdjdd aaaaa #i will elaborate on this point soon but first woo letterbox moments #mean girls #mean girls (2024)#mean girls the musical
