just like idwtkoh.... the reason i like jigokuraku is bc jigokuraku at its core is a story of love regardless of its form, (though ig a stereotypical romance isnt at the forefront as the main lovestory has already concluded prior to the main story) and i adore it so much!!! gabimarus love for his wife spurs compassion and love for other people despite his upbringing and hes able to create strong and fulfilling bonds with other people due to that, and sagiri's a naturally empathic and caring person who loves and loves hard and cares dearly about her friends - she cares so much about the people around her and due to that shes able to help and support people, and the aza brothers!!! their relationship had me crying over and fucking over again throughout the story i can not believe it. seeing toma grow from his codependency and learning how stand up for himself and make decisions and choube being so proud of him made me lose it im sorry im a sucker for family dynamics. these three and their respective love drives plot and Makes Things Happen (mainly gabimaru and choube) but to a lesser extent is passion!! sentas love of art and desire for freedom leads him to caring for yuzuriha deeply and admiring her. fuchis love of autopsies and medicine leads him to being one of the kindess and compassionate characters in the cast and that directly influences gantetsusai loves fighting who dearly wants to leave a legacy for himself of any kind but then expands that to make sure fuchis in that legacy as well.... yall.

Brothers

Them and their bond destroy me.

I feel like these few panels sum up their relationship pretty well: Chobei will go as far as to sacrifice himself and his well-being if it meant that his little brother would be safe. But Chobei is everything to Toma. Toma wants to be equal to his older brother because he wants to protect him too. Their love for each other is absolute and goes beyond everything.
