Jeff The Killer
Chapter 1: Encounters
Jeffrey contently hummed to himself as the poor animal's blood flowed around his callous hands, digging into the carcass with his hunting knife and savoring the sensation he felt.
Catharsis.
Pleasure.
Control.
It all mixed together into one indescribable sensation that washed over his body like the cleansing flood. He always wondered why nobody else in his life derived the feeling he got from indulging on their violent impulses, but at this point in his life, he didn't question it. People were brainwashed anyways.
"Jeff! Come in, it's time for dinner!"
His brother called out to him from the porch, and he looked over at Liu, attempting to hide the carcass of the dog he'd butchered with some leaves.
"Gimme a sec, alright?"
"Okay!"
Liu went back into the house with the usual pep in his step. Jeffrey couldn't help but let a sad smile come to his face as he washed off the blood on his hands and arms in a puddle. Liu always cared, so, so much..he was so full of positivity and emotion. How? What secret motivator did he have?
Dinner was quiet, as was tradition in the Woods household. Margaret and Peter would always get on the sibling's cases if they talked too much, or if Liu bounced his leg, or if Jeffrey looked at them the wrong way. It was even more tense than usual, since they'd just moved out of Detroit and into this new town called Spring Hills, in the middle of buttfuck nowhere, Pennsylvania. It was no idyllic suburban neighborhood, but sure as shit wasn't the gangland streets of their previous state. Jeff was thankful for that much, but unlike Liu, he wasn't hoping that the new house would cheer up his parents any. They were a bit happier, but one of their sons had giant scars on his face and the other had ADHD, so they weren't ecstatic.
After dinner, the two went upstairs and Liu went to his room, his mind worrying about the new school they'd be heading to. Was Jeff gonna be OK? Would the kids be nicer? He was both dying to go and petrified of going at the same time, but a moth had flown into his room soon enough, Liu had forgotten about the whole thing and was now talking to the moth in his room.
Jeffrey lay in his bed, his mind beginning to wander toward that Jersey Axeslasher case that was going on. A mentally ill kid killing several people before mysteriously disappearing? It sounded like the plot to a cheesy slasher flick, but as ridiculous as it sounded, it was true. He suddenly heard..a ringing in his ears. Confused, he looked around for a possible source, eventually concluding that he was just hearing things. Sliding his headphones over his ears, Jeff scrolled through his phone to find the song he wanted to listen to, letting a grin come to his face when he put on the song "Bored Of You" by Agent Orange. It resonated with him, and it had for a long while, ever since the attack. He was bored with normal people, with normality in general. It wasn't making him any happier.
"C'mon, we're gonna be late, Liu."
"I'm coming! I just need to get my scarf!"
Liu pawed through his drawers, looking for the scarf he'd been the proud owner of for 5 years now. It was a comfort item, something he liked to have around, and he'd hardly gone outside without it. It just..felt unnatural to be without it.
"Aha, found it!"
Woods wrapped it around his neck and happily pat the top of the drawer in front of him in excitement, throwing on a heavy overcoat he had and rushing downstairs, finding his brother waiting for him.
"What's with the school shooter jacket?" Jeff teased, giggling as he watched his brother roll his eyes.
"It's really windy around these times, you know that!"
"There's also the fact that a light push could send you flying into outer space."
The brothers continued to laugh and joke with one another, before Jeffrey noticed something standing in one of the houses. The place was an eyesore to look at. The house seemed to be hardly able to stand on my own, a large hole having been somehow knocked into the roof, the wood rotting and old-looking. Something stood in the window that commanded the older brother's attention, however. A tall, suited..thing. It was completely bald, and had no perceivable facial features whatsoever. This uncanny..thing held Jeff's gaze so intensely that the only thing that could drag him out of his trance was being knocked over by someone riding a skateboard.
"Aww, you alright, bud?" The fake concern in his classmate's voice was something he was all too familiar with from his time in Detroit. These were school bullies he had to deal with. The teenager rose to his feet, helping up his brother who had been knocked over as well.
"News flash, I don't give a fuck. Now, we haven't seen you pricks around before, so I'll put names to faces."
The kid in the middle gestured to a lanky ginger that stood by his left.
"Skinny one's Keith,"
He then gestured to a larger kid that stood by his right, presumably the muscle of the trio.
"Big guy's Troy, and I'm Randy fuckin' Ellsworth."
"Okay, then.."
Liu let out a nervous chuckle as Keith approached him, scratching the back of his head.
"Well, I'm Liu, and this is my bro, Jeff.."
Randy's face went from a smug grin to a hateful sneer in record time.
"What the fuck do ya think this is, a datin' show? Keith, take this pussy's wallet, will ya?"
The lead bully's New Yorker accent was somewhat amusing to the two, but Liu was far from someone willing to be pushed around. As Keith approached, he grabbed the bully's wrist and popped him in the nose with no warning, sending him tumbling backwards. A confident smile went to the boy's face as he beckoned the others closer with his finger.
"Come get one in the yarbles, if you've got any yarbles!"
Liu seemed to be enjoying this little scrap he decided to start, but Jeffrey wanted it over as soon as possible, especially when he saw the evil look in Randy's eye as he grabbed a switchblade from his pocket.
"Liu, get outta here, he's got a blade!"
Jeffrey called out to his brother, grabbing a hunting knife he had on a sheath he kept hidden under his shirt and stepping in front of Liu. Keith and Troy were spooked, making it obviously clear that neither of them had seen a pair of kids as ready to fight back as the Woods brothers as they backed away from the knife-toting teenager. Randy, however..wasn't frightened at all. In fact, he looked delighted. Fascinated. The brief encounter was broken up by the school bus arriving, so the three bullies and the brothers piled into the bus to head off to school. Jeff made it a point to keep Liu away from the bullies, so he had him go in one of the front seats whilst Jeffrey sat right across from Randy and his cronies.
Their arrival to Oakmont High School was punctuated by a fascination by the other students, as was the usual for a lot of schools where new kids are a rarity. Oakmont was one of them. Liu seemed to thrive in this attention, unlike his brother. Jeffrey was afraid of even entertaining the idea of sitting with someone during break time, so he went outside where less of his peers were and where he could be alone. Continuing further until he'd reached the back of the school, he then laid his eyes upon a girl sitting on the curb, surrounded by the shade the brick wall behind her provided. She had a black nirvana shirt on, ripped black jeans and dirtied vans completing the look. Her skin was fair and the look in her eyes spelled out apathy that seemed to be close to Jeffrey's. Against what his mind was telling him, he approached the girl and sat next to her, gesturing to the cigarette hanging out of her mouth.
"They let you smoke out here?"
"Teachers never notice you smoking if you go over here. You want one?"
"Sure thing."
Taking another cigarette out of her pocket, she pressed the tip against the one in her mouth, lighting it, then passing it over to the boy next to her, who gladly took a long, relieved drag.
"Sheesh, you needed that, didn't you?"
"You don't know the half of it. What's your name?"
"Jane. Yours?"
"Jeff."
"Cool."
The two sat together in silence for a while, just smoking in the shade together, every so often glancing over at one another.
Meanwhile, on the inside of the school, none other than Keith and Troy sat next to Liu at his table, immediately prompting a glare from the shorter boy.
"Well, if it isn't dumb and dumber."
"Cool your jets, alright? We don't want a fight."
Liu was immediately surprised by this. What did they want with him, then?
"..Sure. What is it?"
"Hey, listen..that shit you pulled back at the bus stop was pretty cool, to be honest."
"Cut the shit, guys..what is it?"
Keith and Troy looked at each other, then back at Liu. He was just..done with these two already. Troy began where Keith left off.
"Okay, you know how your brother's a psycho, right?"
"He is, but hey!"
"He's way too similar to Randy, and personally..I think you should watch out, considering that's the case, man. I mean..shit, I remember when Randy-"
"Well, personally, I don't give two thirds of a shit. I've lived with him my whole life and I'm fucking fine! Now, if you want me to rip your goddamn head off, you'll have to ask in more polite terms."
Liu was just as confused and shocked as the kids around him. Where the hell did that come from? It felt like he wasn't in control of his own body when he said that..something wasn't right.
"H-Hold on, I-I-I don't know where that came from-"
"The fuck're you two doing here?"
Randy's sudden arrival startled his henchmen, as they thought he wasn't even in the building.
"Erm..we were just chewing this prick out for trying us."
"That's not what it sounded like."
An awkward, frightening pause filled the table. Then, Randy broke the deafening silence as he looked over at Keith and Troy.
"You two, we're headed down to the junkyard again. As for you, Liu..stay outta our fuckin' way."
The school bell rang, and the three walked off, disappearing into the crowd of students that went off to their respective classes. Liu waited behind for his brother, who, to his pleasant surprise, was with a girl he hadn't met before.
"Hey, Jeff! I knew you'd find a girlfriend!"
He teased, and Jeff playfully punched his younger brother's shoulder, a grin coming to Jane's face.
"We just met, dude. She's called Jane."
He then looked over at Jeff's new friend..Jesus Christ, she looked like a girl out of Liu's wildest dreams. His face immediately went a hue of red that he tried to hide with the hood of his jacket.
"It's..nice to meet you, Jane!"
"Liu..are you blushing?"
"No, you're blushing!"
"Pff, you look like you could be her younger sister."
"He looks like he could be my son."
"I don't look that young, I look my age! I can't tell if you're 17 or 27, Jeff."
Jeffrey let out an amused bout of laughter as his brother continued, Jane's smirk growing into a goofy smile.
"And you definitely look like someone who I could date, alright?"
"Sure, sure."
She was a bit worried that Liu was actually beginning to crush on her. A lot of people had asked her out before, but she was a lesbian and all the people who'd asked her out were dudes, so she'd ended up with the label of a heartbreaker. It wasn't that..she just liked girls. Why was that so strange? Oh right, she hadn't gone public with it yet. She didn't exactly want to, either, considering that she might give her parents a heart attack.
A couple hours later, the school bell rang, and Jeff and Liu filed up with the rest of the students and walked out, heading back home together with their new friend in Jane. When they got to around the middle part of the walk home, Jeff gestured to the decrepit building him and his brother saw at the bus stop.
"Hey, you guys wanna go explore that old place?"
"Fuck no, abandoned houses just..spook me out, man."
"I'll come."
"Hey, Liu, you're gonna need this."
Jeff took the hunting knife from earlier and held it out to his younger sibling, who looked up at him with a confused and slightly spooked look.
"You brought that thing to school?!"
"I did, you're gonna need it a lot more than me now that you're heading out alone."
"We aren't in Detroit anymore..you don't need to carry that thing around."
"Randy Cocksnot or whatever his name is proved that idea wrong today. What kinda kid wears aeropostale and carries around a switchblade, anyways?"
"Hey, you gonna explore this place with me or not?"
Jane hollered out from the interior of the house, Jeff handing the knife to Liu and jogging off to go look around the house.
"Hey, Jane, I saw some weird shit in here."
"Like?"
"Some guy with a suit standing in one of the windows."
"Eh, probably a homeless dude or something."
"Hey, it wasn't just a suit..he..didn't have a face."
"He didn't have a face? Oh, shit.."
"What is it?"
Jeffrey wandered into what appeared to be an old living room as him and Jane talked. The wooden floorboards creaked under the weight of him as Jane continued, following alongside.
"There's this..serial killer that people say has no face. He's been around for years, decades, apparently. Must be old as fuck.."
"Haven't heard of him. What's the press called him?"
"The Tall Man. He's like..13 feet tall or something."
"I'm not afraid of some old ass freak show attraction, if he is here, I'm killing him myself."
Jane was taken aback by Jeff's brazenness and ease of resorting to violence. She got into the occasional fight from time to time, but Jeffrey seemed to be asking for trouble from the get-go.
"If you say so, man."
"Hey, look at this.."
Jeff picked a scrap of paper up off the ground, before reading it aloud.
"Helen Otis, primary suspect in Bloody Painter killings, disappears from jail."
"Those were from the..80s, right?"
"90s. He hasn't been found since then..they found one of his paintings in a warehouse in 2013, might be more out there. They looked fresh.."
"Sheesh, you know a lot about this guy."
"The news would never shut up about him when they found that 2013 painting! They were captivated by that freak."
"Not surprised, the media flocks to that shit like vultures to a carcass."
Jeff pocketed the paper, before looking up at Jane, fascination lacing his tone.
"I'm gonna look into that Tall Man shit when I get home. Besides, mom and dad'll get pissy with me if I'm not there soon."
"Oh, alright. See ya, Jeff!"
"You too."
Jane was off-put by how her new friend looked at her for just a bit too long as he walked out of the house, the even more disturbing part was how..empty his eyes were. It looked like there was no emotion in his gaze, no love, no warmth, just a pair of cold, nigh lifeless eyes staring her down.

Once in a while you come across a song that really speaks to you, taunts you to give your take on it. “The Girl in the Wall” by Jessica Zimmerman was one of those songs to me. The game that the song was made for, The BOSS, was absolutely great. I loved watching @therealjacksepticeye play it, and as I’d wanted to play something similar to those old Gameboy Pokémon games, The BOSS was like a gift from game-making gods. That game was so much fun to play, despite not having Pokémon. ;) The original song (highly recommend you listen this before my cover): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1M-zCbyVVo The game: https://www.sarcasticpastagames.com/the-boss Sample credits to my cover: Guitarsamples from Axeslash Bass samples by me Drumsamples from somewhere Piano, strings and synth samples from Claymore To @sarcastic-pasta-games team, and to Jessica in particular, I want to say; thank you. Thank you for making that beautiful piece of music, sharing the sheet music (which I had some problems with because I can’t read sheet music :D) and making that game a reality. I’m so tempted to play it through again. I stumbled across The Boss DLC a day before yesterday and played it aswell, it was great to see the other side of the story. Really looking forward to Glitch as that style of games are really enjoyable, atleast when they’re as well made what you guys and gals have done. <3 (Damn I’d need a better picture for the song, other than Torbjörn!) P.S. To Seán, if you ever happen to read this ramble, I’d like to say on behalf of me and my wife; thank you for Jacksepticeye. It’s a pure coincidence that this release hits the same day as your birthday (not so in the community and such that I’d know this kind of things), so we want to wish you the best 29th birthday you’ll ever have! Keep it metal, ye mighty goofball! \m/

Axeslasher - Night of the Shears
“.. this song is about those that find comfort in the all too welcoming arms of fascists, white nationalists, and bootlicking chauvinistic men’s fraternities. These groups tried to infiltrate heavy music so many times its not even funny. We kicked their asses in the 80s, and now we’re setting Mr. Scissors loose on them for a ‘Night of the Shears’”

Jeff The Killer
Chapter 4: Postmortem
A month had passed since Jeff had arrived at the hospital. His time as the facility was a breath of fresh air for the boy, as everyone there treated him with a degree of respect and pity, be it a member of staff or a patient next to him. The doctors had informed him that the fire had caused second and third degree burns all over his body, and it was a medical miracle that he'd survived, let alone run all the way to a hospital several miles away from the field he described. He didn't have the heart to tell them about how he truly got there.
Jeff lowly hissed as he sat up to allow the nurse that visited him easier access to his face and body, which had been wrapped in medical bandages, head to toe. Every movement stung like a needle being jammed into his flesh, but Woods simply ignored it, as there wasn't much else he could do. He hadn't heard a word from his family or any of his classmates since everything went down on that night, and this only fueled the fires of hatred that burned within him. He hadn't felt more unloved in a long, long while, but there was a small, miniscule part of his mind that suggested that maybe things would get better! Maybe people would start to actually see him as a person for once!
Once his bandages were changed, the nurse looked Jeff in the eye, indicating she wanted to tell him something.
"Mr. Woods, your family's gonna come and pick you up today, alright?"
He simply nodded in acknowledgement.
Later that day, Jeff's family walked inside, his parents glancing at him, then at each other in a subdued disgust. Liu stood close by his parents, his fear of his brother much more apparent. He set down a plastic bag he held and pulled out a pair of jeans, Jeff's boots, underwear, an Uncle Acid shirt, and his plain, white hoodie.
"Hi, Jeff.." Liu nervously stuttered out, handing the clothes to his brother, who'd already stood up. Walking past them all, Jeff went into the bathroom and put on his clothes, before peering into the mirror, looking at whatever the bandaging couldn't cover up. It looked bad, at least from what he could make out. His flesh was sheet-white from hypodermic scarring, and it was stretched impossibly thin around his face. There was hardly any hair left on his head, apart from a few loose strands that fell over one side of his face, doing very little to hide his ghoulish scars and the smile that remained there, ever haunting him years after the incident that brought them to the world in the first place.
Jeff eventually exited the bathroom, clothes covering his bandages, and the family of four set off together, in silence. Margaret and Peter kept exchanging whispers to each other, and when Jeff bothered to question what they were talking about, they told him to keep his mouth shut.
During the car ride home, the tension between the family seemed to be..growing and growing as time passed. Not a word was spoken between them, but it eventually crescendoed when Jeff's mother pulled the car over to the side of the road.
"What's going on? Did we get pulled over or something?" Liu questioned, confusion dawning on his face.
"..Listen, Jeffrey..me and your father..we've decided something." Margaret started, Peter continuing.
"We just..can't have you around anymore. We're getting into too much trouble because of you, and..you're becoming a threat to us, as well as yourself."
Margaret pulled two 20$ bills out of her purse and placed them in her eldest son's lap as her husband continued talking.
"We're gonna leave you alone, just as you used to ask us. Now..just.."
He let out a long sigh, before motioning to the door Jeff sat next to.
"Out, please."
Liu grew more and more panicked as Jeffrey, bloody tears welling in the corners of his eyes, stepped out of the car.
"Wait, you guys just can't-"
"Shut it, Liu! Don't make this harder than it has to be. Now shut that door, would you?"
Liu, through shaky breaths and a trembling hand, reached across the car and shut the door, the car speeding away from Jeff. A sob let out from Liu brought more ridicule from his mother.
"Listen, we tried to raise him with tough love, and he isn't receptive to any of it! We're doing you a favor, now stop your crying."
"A-Alright..it's just..I didn't even get to say goodbye.."
"He doesn't deserve one, you know how he always gets into fights, if we brought him to school, he'd kill that Jane girl that rejected you!"
"..Okay..let's just go home."
Jeff stood on that deserted highway for what felt like an eternity, his mouth somewhat agape. Did that..really happen? Had his own family rendered him such a lost cause that they literally abandoned him on the side of the road? Jeff looked around, nobody else being there to console him or help him carry on. Just miles and miles of trees and the occasional passing car. Woods aimlessly wandered forward, softly sobbing to himself as he did, bloody tears making wet lines in his bandaging. As he walked, Jeff eventually happened upon a crossroad. Merely looking at the intersection made a knot turn in the boy's gut.
Something was off about this place.
Was it the loneliness? Was it the betrayal, the feeling of abandonment?
Did he finally lose his mind?
Jeff didn't know, and he hated that more than the uneasiness of the crossroads itself. He stared into the distance, the trees that lined his various pathways draping shadows over him like a well-fitted blanket. His low sobs soon turned into disturbingly playful giggles, growing and growing like a parasite until Jeff had fallen to his knees, screaming and howling with a devilish cackle. Then..he saw one of the trees move. Still, he couldn't stop laughing..even as The Beholder grew closer and closer.
"It's truly a tragedy, ain't it? Abandoned by your own family.."
The demon outstretched one of his pale, inhuman hands, offering Jeff a helping hand..something he was hardly used to seeing.
"Humans are fickle things, aren't they? Put your trust in me, and you will never be abandoned again."
He couldn't pass up that chance. Taking the hand of the demon, Woods stood up, smiling widely underneath his bandaging. His family..his friends..everyone he met..he decided that they were like wild dogs, that they were just as amoral and monstrous as he was, and that he needed to put them all to sleep, cut them open for his own amusement. The blood that would douse his hands would fit like the perfect pair of gloves, and the gore that would splatter across his face would make for the perfect mask.
Late into the night, Randy Ellsworth was scrolling through his phone in the junkyard, a sadistic grin coming to his face when he saw in the local news that today marked the day of his victim's release, thankful that nobody seemed to know that he was behind the brutal attack. Then, a hard, blunt object smashed into the back of his head, causing him to grip the back of his head and cry out in pain, before looking up at the person who attacked him. Randy went pale when he saw who stood over him, crowbar clutched tightly in their taped hand.
Jeff Woods.
"Hey, listen, man, we're cool, right? I-I'm so-"
The crowbar crashed into his skull again, Woods mounting him and smashing the blunt tool into his head, again, and again, and again, until his brain matter and blood were caked onto his body and face, and nothing was left of his head except a few pulpy chunks of grey matter. The hatred that burned in his heart finally seemed to cool, and that blend of pleasure, control, and finally hatred blending together to create an orgasmic feeling that endlessly crashed over his body, wave after wave causing his eyes to dilute and grow more crazed than they'd ever been before. The killer reached into Ellsworth's pocket, ignoring the twitching of the bully's hands, and slowly removed his switchblade, smirking and letting out a sickeningly joyful chuckle as he did. Hearing more footsteps approaching, Jeff quickly looked around, finding none other than Keith and Troy approaching, unknowing that their leader had been turned into a corpse.
"Hey, Randy! You..wanted to meet us?"
Keith called out, growing closer and closer to Jeff's hiding spot. Before long, and to both of their surprise, Woods lunged at them, quickly plunging his knife into the temple of Keith's skull, the bully quickly crashing to the ground as Troy ran away, screaming bloody murder as Jeff chased after.
Troy was fast, but Jeff was quicker on his feet, and midway down the driveway to the junkyard, he leaped onto the teenager's back, plunging the switchblade in and out of his chest, over and over, a deranged grin adorning his bandaged face as Troy collapsed, futilely attempting to fight back as Jeff plunged his weapon into his victim's gut, slitting it open and reaching inside, yanking out his intestines like streamers. The bloody bandages that once adorned Jeff's hands had begun to fall off, exposing the raw flesh underneath as the killer clutched the purple entrails in his hands, Troy coughing up blood before finally dying. Jeff was..entranced by the gore, by the guts held in his hands. Woods dug his knife into the dead flesh of his victim like a painter who participated simply for the calming serenity.
An hour later, Jeff found himself outside the house of his family, knowing what came next. Using the spare key underneath the welcome mat, he let himself into the house, trailing blood inside as he ascended the stairs to his parent's room, carefully walking as to not wake them up. Before he went to finish his work, he ventured into the bathroom to see what he looked like. Cutting away the bandages with his new blade, the last remaining bits of sanity he felt he had slipped away when he saw what stared back at him in the mirror. It was just as horrifying as he'd predicted..pale skin, nearly bald, burn scars littering his entire body, let alone his already scarred face. Soon enough, he heard a gasp from a few feet away, his mother staring him down, shock and terror in her eyes.
"Jeff, what the he-"
The killer moved quickly, placing a hand over his mother's mouth and stabbing her in the throat, twisting the blade and watching with a disturbing joy as she died in his grasp, choking and sputtering on her own blood. With crazed joy in his slow steps, he pushed open the already ajar door to his parent's room, his father laying peacefully in bed. Before he could notice him, Jeff leaped onto the bed, surprising his father before stabbing him, again and again, relishing in the pain he caused as the life drained from Peter's body.
One Left.
The Brother.
Walking down the stairs, Jeff began to actively cultivate the hatred in his heart as he approached his brother's room. He hated him, now, even more so than his parents. He felt that Liu had abandoned him, when he'd stood by his side for his whole life..he found no point in not killing him right now. Swinging open the door, he stood in the doorway, blade gripped tightly in his hand.
"Who..who are you..?"
Liu asked, turning his light on and rubbing his eyes. Then..a sense of dread washed over him as he saw his brother, caked in blood, standing over his bed.
"A monster, Liu. A monster that's surrounded by monsters."
Then..something snapped inside of Liu. The same mindset that had made him act out violently before snapped into his conscious, taking his lamp and smashing it into his brother's face as he charged, climbing out of bed and arming himself with the rosary that he kept under his pillow at night.
The conscious Liu came to call Sully.
Wrapping the rosary around Jeff's neck, Sully proceeded to strangle the killer until it broke around his neck, taking the broken lamp stand and raising it above his head to strike Jeff, who countered with a wild kick to the chest, knocking the smaller boy back. Jeff stood up and put some distance between him and Sully, who in no time sprinted toward him, Jeff's hunting knife clutched tightly in his hand. Moving forward to stab him in the neck, Jeff grabbed the blade-holding hand at the last moment, taking his own knife and jamming it into Sully's gut, pushing him away and retrieving the hunting knife that fell from his grasp.
Sully held himself up with the counter, the pain of having a switchblade jammed into his stomach being thrown aside as he ripped it out, keeping the blade between himself and his murderous brother, who simply laughed and rushed forward again. Sully used the momentum to grab Jeff by the hoodie and throw him through the kitchen window, the killer crashing out on the back lawn, lacerated by the shards of glass and injured by the fall. Certain that the attack had taken his brother out of commission for long, Sully began frantically searching for a bandage to cover his stab wound, still hissing in pain as he did.
Glancing back up, Sully saw that Jeff had opened the back porch door and let himself back inside, a limp having formed from his fall outside. In a manic move of desperation, Sully took a kitchen knife from one of the drawers, hurling it at his brother and missing wildly as Jeff ran at him. Using his momentum again, Sully rammed the switchblade into Jeff's stomach, briefly lifting him off of his feet with the impact, before taking him and slamming him onto the dinner table, ripping out the blade and jamming it into his brother's shoulder. Panting with exhaustion, adrenaline flooding his veins, Sully lifted the blade into the air one last time..
Jeff's hunting knife was then jammed into the side of his cheeks, splitting the other side of his mouth open as well.
Sully stared in shock at what had happened, and Jeff stared on with a glimmer of sadism in his blood red eyes. Ripping the knife forward, Sully's face was torn open, his scars mimicking his brother's, who followed up his assault with another slash to the face that cut the corner of his face open, and a kick to the chest that sent him flying back. He tripped over the carpet, suddenly falling backwards and breaking his neck on the counter with a loud snap, before slumping down on the floor.
Jeff just..stared at the still body of his younger sibling, the gravity of what he had done beginning to weigh down on him. The one person who would've stuck it out with him was dead..but his deranged mind challenged even the notion that his brother would've been there for him in the first place, considering everything that happened before the fire. A wide, sickeningly prideful smile formed on his bloody face, slowly turning and writing a message in blood on the wall.
"Vengeance Is Mine."
The cool air of the night was not so much the marker of the bloodshed's end as it was mere respite from it, the only sound audible to Jeff's ears being his shaky breaths and the hum of the street lamps he passed underneath. Aimlessly wandering through the neighborhood, the sight of Jane hugging her parents on the front porch of her house caught his eye. The cone hats and the 18th birthday bannister that hung from the windows on the inside of the Richardson home tipped the killer off to the occasion. He watched from the shadows as Jane drove away, presumably to a house of her own as her parents walked back inside. Remembering the things the girl said about her parents, Woods cleansed himself of any guilt he might've felt as he stalked toward the house, glancing around to check that nobody was watching.
Jeff avoided the lights that were on in the home and made his way around the back, the sliding glass door providing him easy viewing to the sight of Jane's mother, Aurora. He couldn't help but admire her appearance, simply watching from afar for a good while and studying Aurora's movements as she put on the pot of coffee she had. Coffee at midnight? He couldn't help but raise an eyebrow to this, but he soon disregarded it as he slowly slid open the glass door, hunting knife tightly clutched in his hand. His footsteps silent to Aurora's ears.
The killer soon lunged forward, grabbing a firm hand over his victim's mouth to keep her from shouting, pulling her back and stabbing deep into the corner of her neck, blood leaking and spurting out of her wound, the crimson fluid leaking from Aurora's mouth as he shoved the blade deeper into her neck. The killer then slowly removed the blade, letting Aurora slump onto the ground with a thud, blood pooling and soaking into the floorboards of the home. Jeff heard the bathroom door shut upstairs, so he silently made his way there, a firm grip applied to his knife as he got closer and closer. The door eventually began, and like a well-oiled machine, Jeff attacked. Kicking open the door and knocking Bruce down with it, he held down the man and jammed his knife into his chest, frantically stabbing him over and over, laughing and screaming as he did. The knife never gave, even as the room was showered with blood, Jeff's face dripping with crimson.
Dropping down and laying next to the corpse, he let that sensation wash over his body once again.
Catharsis.
Pleasure.
Control.
Sitting up and beginning to collect himself, a devilish idea planted itself in his head like a poisonous seed. Taking Bruce's dead body by the wrist, he dragged it downstairs and sat it down at one of the dinner tables, taking Aurora's corpse and doing the same. Both corpses resting at the table, Jeff turned around to leave, only to find none other than The Tall Man standing in the doorway.
"Well..hello, stalker. We finished here?"
"Indeed. Come with me, I need to take you to your new home."
The killer looked over at the corpses, his twisted mind drawing toward the idea of Jane's horrified reaction when she heard about the demise of her parents on the news.
"Heh, shame I'll miss out on Janey realizing her parents aren't gonna be with her for any more birthdays."
Jeff turned back around and outstretched one of his scarred hands and intertwined it with the monster's, teleporting to a vacant mansion in the middle of nowhere he knew.
Meanwhile, in a place known only to it's inhabitants, Toby Rodgers lit up a cigarette whilst he stared out the window, alone in this empty office building with only his thoughts and the smoke that was slowly killing him, not that he cared. Reaching into his pocket, the boy took out a picture he had, the picture of his family he had taken with him.
"...What's the point of resisting? What's the point in..anything?"
He said to the picture, a sad smile forming on his pale, dirty face.
"How much has that thing seeped into my mind? Are these my thoughts, or just what it wants me to think? I mean..at least I won't harm anyone else. But, still..knowing what I've done..and knowing that I could've just put up with it eats away at me. Heh, here's hoping that..thing's enjoying my suffering."
Taking a long drag from his cigarette, his sad smile turned to a spiteful sneer.
"I'm kidding. I hope it burns."
He could hear footsteps coming from nearby, so Toby readied one of his hatchets, pocketed the photo, and stared at the doorway, prepared for whatever was coming for him. He heard a British-tinged voice humming along to a music box it had, growing closer with every second.
"Who's there?!" Rodgers shouted, catching the stranger off guard.
"Exactly..who IS there?"
Toby was..in for a shock. A clown stood in the doorway, a black and white creature with long, sharp claws, shark-like teeth, and a serpentine tongue. It's eyes were emotive, despite being blank slates, and it eyed Toby up and down, like a lion sizing up a zebra. What was especially concerning was not only the spike-like nose it possessed, but the blood that stained it's clothing and teeth.
"Who are you? I haven't seen you around these parts before, and humans are quite rare, indeed!"
"M-My name's..Toby.."
"Oh, Toby, dear! Daddy long legs has said so much about you! You're one of the first Proxies to resist his influence, in fact.."
"W-Wait, Proxy? What's that?"
"Oh, Proxies..hey, do you want to come over? I'll explain everything over tea, how's that sound?"
"G-Good.."
"Well, we're off!"
Turning on his heels, the clown motioned for Toby to follow him.
Meanwhile, in the corporeal realm, Liu's still body twitched. Then it twitched again. Rigor mortis wasn't setting in, and this became clear when his head snapped back into place, his shattered neck repairing itself, and his wounds beginning to cauterize by themselves, forming scars in their place. Liu Woods was dead, surely, but Sully would take far more than just a shattered neck to kill. It was a demon, and it had possessed the boy's corpse, intending to use it for it's own sick desires. Sully stretched his new body, the corpse cracking in response as he walked outside and into the night.
