HEWWO GAYMERS!
Welcome Back to the 2nd AwooGaming! Before we get into the Potatoes and Meat I wanna get one thing out of the way. Thank you guys SO much for getting my first article over 100 views. It means so much to me that people are willing to listen to some hyper fennec’s opinion on video games, and I only want to get better as we go along, Thank you Sooooo much!
Now with that out of the way, Let’s get started on AwooGaming #2, Pokemon Yellow! Very Topical. UwU
Pokemon Yellow
Hoo boi there’s a lot to talk about here. >w< Despite continuing to make bank just for brand recognition alone, Pokemon’s origins are pretty admirable. It was pretty much the baby of Satoshi Tajiri, and had a lot of blood, sweat and tears put into the first pair of games, Red and Blue. After the release in the west Pokemania was in full effect, with an N64 spinoff adding on content, an anime adaptation out and the sequels in development, Pokemon Yellow was made to give fans a sister game to the original duo. Not only that but also to coincide with Pokemon stadium, which released a month prior.
Gaynimeplay
This game was released when the Anime was in full swing, and is pretty much an adaptation. The main character’s default name is Ash instead of Red, Blue is now Gary, and Your starter is a Pikachu that can’t evolve. There are also various gameplay changes that make this more accurate to the Anime, like getting all 3 starters instead of forcing you to get only one like Red and Blue, Team Rocket now having Jesse and James, and some of the Gym Leader’s sprites, as well as teams being changed to better fit the anime.
There are also revamped Front sprites for every single pokemon, which closely follow their modern designs, as opposed to the, quite frankly, bad spritework of the originals. This makes the game look so much better in every aspect. Not only that but some versions of Yellow are Gameboy Color Compatible, which makes the palettes of each town distinct. This is definitely the best looking version of Gen 1 Pokemon regardless.
This is classic Pokemon gameplay of course, Collecting a whole team of different Pokemon and using different moves to create strategies to overcome challenges. There is no grinding necessary to make it through this game, which was very ahead of its time. There is also the very first implementation of a friendship system. Over the course of the game Pikachu will go from hating you to liking you, it’s not much, there’s only one real gameplay benefit, but it’s nice to go back and check up on him, cute points there. However there is one major issue with the gameplay, and that is your starter.
Pikachu is a terrible starter. He’s got low bases, you can’t evolve him, and he just sucks. He’s definitely the low point of the game, he’s pretty much useless in the late game, however your never forced to use him, if your heartless you can shove him in the PC. This problem would’ve been fixed if he was allowed to evolve but no, he ain’t. Gotta get that anime authenticity yo.
More like Stinkime Authenticity UwU
Gotta catch all the furries
SO how’s the furry representation in this game? Well Pokemon seem unanimously considered furry so let’s go with that. The Pokemon in this gen are quite weak if I’m gonna be frank. Most of them are either basic wildlife creatures, or inanimate objects
That being said, the good designs are legitimately great. All three starters are all just wonderful, the Eevee lines are all great, Pikachu and Raichu are great, Jigglypuff is how the pokemon should’ve been, as well as Sandshrew and Sandslash, Shellder as well. Ditto is a great concept, and the five legendary pokemon are just pretty much perfect. That’s really 25/150 that I personally think are worth mentioning. Sadly this gen was the first, and while I do think most of the designs are memorable, they are just way too simple, like Bird! Rat! CLOWN!
Stray Thoughts
This game is buggy, it’s not that noticeable on an average playthrough but there are some that do get into the way, as long as you don’t use status lowering/heightening moves past a +6 buff you should be fine.
Pokemon Stadium may or may not have extra content for the postgame, I don’t have it so I sadly cannot comment.
No comment on the remakes, I haven’t played them in a long time, I will get to them eventually though.
One thing I didn’t Mention yet is Multiplayer, using link cables was a major feature of the game. I’ll get more in detail on it later, don’t worry, I didn’t forget. UwU
Final Score
The game is old, very old, and clunky, but despite that it’s still fun to go through. The lack of grinding makes this an enjoyable romp with a decent challenge. The major hindrance is Pikachu being unable to evolve. Other than that It has great inclusions, presentation got spiffed up exponentially, and just in general is better than the Duos in almost every way, bar a couple exclusives.
Overall: 4/6
Sadly the pokemon designs are mostly too bland and simple. That being said the designs that are good have stapled themselves in gaming history, and deservedly so.
Furry Hotness: 1/2
OK here’s the part where peeps might get a little mad. Gen 1 has not aged well. Regardless of the remakes Gen 1 relies on one thing, interaction. Interaction with other people who are willing to go through a, while very charming, very dated experience, with limited options. The later games improve the groundwork so much which makes this game so difficult to come back to. I can’t in good conscience give this a recommendation. The only reason I can see where it can be fun is if you and a friend get it on the 3DS Virtual Console, where trading was carried over, and your still in for a dated and clunky game. The charm can’t save it. Play if your interested, but I don’t recommend. I’m Sowwwwyyy ;w;
Recommendation: 0/1
This game gets a 410 Score This game isn’t as recognizable as it’s older brothers, but if your interested in playing Gen 1, this is definitely the best version in my opinion, it’s a shame Gen 1 isn’t too great as a whole.
Please! Give this review a Comment down below if you agree or disagree. You can also suggest what furry games you want me to cover! Thank you for tuning in too this week’s AwooGaming! I’ll see yall next monday! Buiii!

Donkey Kong Country
Taking a look at this game is like looking through a time-portal to how game making worked back in the 4th generation of gaming, It’s gonna be a common theme in this review as you may find. This game is the revival of the Donkey Kong series, and it put Rare on the map of Gaming, a reputation they would later use to completely dominate the industry of good dog-gone games for the years to come. Yeah thats right, Nintendo didn’t make this game. It’s kinda bold of them to give their dearest IP to an outside company, and it seemed to worked. The game got glowing reception, most reviews praising the graphics. How well will it hold up against me tho? >=3
Dongplay
Donkey Kong Country is a Platformer back when the era of 2D platformers dominated the gaming industry. As such the game had to do quite a bit to set itself apart from classics like Super Mario World, or Sonic 2. Well if you asked all those reviewers it was those graphics, so let’s take a look at the presentation.
The game uses pre-rendered 3D models, and the first one to use them, they were definitely revolutionary for the time, but how do they hold up now? Pretty well! The game still looks great mostly because the sprites are small. If the sprites were bigger than honestly the game would’ve looked crappy, like, just take a look at the Models, they’re downright creepy. But since they’re small all the crappy aspects are unnoticeable and they look great.
However I can’t say the same for the rest of the game. The game itself is very bland. Everything has this dark, mechanical tone, and it honestly is super forgettable and unfitting. Donkey kong Island should be that, an Island, alive, vibrant, colorful, but it’s completely drained of color, and a good number of levels take place in dark caves and mines, and even when you do go outside it’s so dark it feels like it’s night-time. It’s just not that great, and it leads to a lot of the levels meshing together and making for a real unmemorable experience.
But enough about presentation, let’s get into gameplay. And lemme tell yall, this game is heckin hard. Like, seriously, it’s so hard, but not really in the best way. Remember how I said that this game is a portal to how games are made back in the 4th Generation? Well this is how it works. Super Mario World is the game everybody really knows, its super easy to get into, with a super simple momentum that you really don’t need to pay too much attention to to beat the game.
Notice how I said “momentum”. I’m gonna theorize that DKC was made in order to teach players the importance of momentum, a lot of the game is momentum based platformer with really tight jumps over bottomless pits. I find that it focuses on timing, which inherently is fine, but this game suffers from Difficulty spikes within levels. It’s technically fair, but it just throws a super tough challenge after an entire level of a breeze-through, which happens in almost every level, and it gets very annoying very quickly, especially if your like me and your not prepared. If you are prepared though it will be fine I suspect, so go for it!
The Dong Himself
Aight so DK is a classic, has a tie, and is just a big monkey, his design is one ingrained in gaymer’s minds, and for good reason. Diddy Kong is cool, not much comment. Big Belly King K.Rool is great for those belly buppers, and a lot of the small critters, they are all fun too, but not really scream anything specifically, I struggle talking about the furries here, they’re simple, its not bad, but its not amazing, just good.
Stray Thoughts
There’s a Mechanic where you can swap between Donkey and Diddy. The gameplay differences are not so different that its a massive difference, but it is noticeable every now and then, and sometimes even annoying, but it’s not really that big a deal. …..thats all I got. >w<
Final Score
The game is a good portal to the 4th generation, it’s definitely interesting and fun, especially at the beginning, but it suffers from a really bad presentation and difficulty spikes are a frequent annoyance.
Overall:4/6
The designs are simple, but not much else, the main cast is great tho.
Furry Hotness:1/2
This is actually heckin difficult, but ultimately I can see this being really fun, just be prepared for a challenge and you’ll have fun with this. And no it’s not the dark souls of platformers.
Recommendation:1/1
This gets a score of 411
Well that’s all from me Sorry if this is a bit too short I just have very few thoughts on this game, If you felt I missed out on something please let me know in the comments down below, it helps out the site! See Yall next Monday!

Welcome to AwooGaming!Since this is the first article of AwooGaming I might explain a couple things on how it works!Firstly this is just some my opinion, these articles are not going for objective reviews, this series is more to look at Furry Games and see if they’re fun or not! If you disagree with me on certain aspects or just the article in general leaving a comment would be a great way to start a discussion so don’t be afraid to, even if you agree, any and all votes and comments are appreciated. The second thing I want to adress is the unique scoring system I have set up. This ain’t a normal review series, but a FURRY review series, and so I made up a new scoring system. The 621 scoreBasically I rate the game on 3 different criteria, -/6 for overall game quality-/2 for the Furry HotnessAnd -/1 for whether or not the game is worth your time. With all that out of the way, WELCOMEI am proud to present AwooGaming #1Star Fox 64!
What’s a Star Fox 64?Star Fox 64 was released in 1997 for the N64. Known as Lylat Wars in Europe, this follow up to the SNES classic is one of the most beloved games on the system. It’s also a major face of the furry gaming community, at least, the nintendo crowd of furries. It’s cast includes the Iconic Fox McCloud and Falco Lombardi, as well as Peppy Hare and Slippy Toad, all of them pilots of…Star FoxFirst we GOTTA talk about this plot. It starts off with a narration of the defeat of the original Star Fox, which includes an evil scientist, betrayal, and a dead father. This story is cliche, hammy, and the voice acting is so bad, all to make this mess of perfection. The story doesn’t take itself too seriously for the most part, and that’s what makes it great, your just the elite team of pilots out to end an evil scientist’s dastardly deeds of destruction, that’s all you need from it. It’s just a blast to go through this game and just listen to all the one-liners and villainous speeches, only for them to be cut short with your mad skillz. Speaking of Skillz, we should probably get to the GAME part of this game, and hoo boi, this game is insanely fun. There’s never a dull moment in this game, the game drops you into the Lylat System, where you always start in Corneria. Then you make your way towards Venom’s defenses. It’s a linear experience with a whole lot of sweet variety. All the different planets are all completely baron of natural life thanks to andross, but every single one has a feel, a different atmosphere, it feels like your just going forward in this once beautiful Space System. The graphics also help in this aspect. The models are mostly for robots so they end up aging pretty well. Aside from some lag spikes here or there when there’s a lot on screen the game runs so cleanly. But enough about the world, let’s get into how this game plays, and what makes it so fun, the GAYplay hahaaaaaaThis game is a simple shooter, basically you control Fox as he glides across the screen with ease down a straight path filled to the brim with enemies and obstacles. You start off with a simple pea shooter, 3 Bombs, 2 lives, and your Star Fox Allies. Your goal is to Complete each mission without dying….I mean like…duh. Throughout each level are collectable Gold and Silver Rings for Health expansion and Replenishing respectively, Laser Upgrades, and Bombs, as well as Wing Repair if the wings on the arwing break. There’s also a couple levels that shake things up with the control scheme, which offer a great change of pace and keeps things from being too stale. All Range mode levels and bosses also appear from time to time, creating these awesome dogfight battles that are really intense. You can get by just fine without really being good perse, but where this game really excels are the alternative routes. Performing well, protecting allies, or just flat out doing things for style points can net you harder levels that have unique story benefits, making each playthrough a joy to go through. Another thing to consider are your partners, keeping them alive can net you certain secrets and even new levels in some instances, and it keeps you from just spamming willy nilly with your laser, as you can damage them. I’m being as vague as I can with this because the real joy of this game is experiencing it firsthand and just being rewarded with all these goofy, cheesy, and insanely fun moments. What’s in it for us UwUNow let’s get into the reason yall REALLY should play this gameWe have these heccin furries fighting an army of monkeys in space, and it’s the best. Fox is extremely sassy, sputing a couple one liners here or there, but mostly just trash talking the pretentious villains. Falco is reckless, confident, and just overall independant, He’s basically the sassiness adn trash talking side of Fox, in fact I wouldn’t be surprised if Fox picked it up from him, He’s also one to get frustrated at the fact that people help him. Peppy is the least interesting sadly. He’s the only member of the original star Fox and is a mentor, mostly resorting to giving tutorials in game and occasionally talking about how Fox is like his father. Just not much to dive into as a characterTHEN WE HAVE SLIPPY…he’s aightHe’s not as bad as his reputation leads on, he’s just kinda there, he gives you the bosses shield meter, so he’s definitely the character you want alive the most. He is a bit reckless but mostly this is unexplored. But there’s one character that rules over every character in terms of just furry hotness.Wolf is literally god, when he isn’t kicking tail than he’s commanding the heart of every gay furry in existence…..including me. Stray ThoughtsThe N64 version is the definitive way to play. Current controllers have difficulties emulating the weird control stick of the N64 controller, making precise movement hard to get used to, but it’s still not game-breaking, if you get it on Virtual Console than your still in for a great time. Haven’t touched the 3DS remake, from what I heard it’s good, although some of the portraits to me look way off. No comment on if its better or not. Vs. Mode I’ve only played a little a couple years back. From what I remember it was fun enough, might play a couple rounds here or there just for some quick fun matches. Final ScoreI struggle finding anything about this game that had me frustrated or annoyed or bored. It constantly gave me an adrenaline of fun, fresh gameplay that anyone can enjoy. 6/6How is the furry hotness? It has daddy2/2Should you play this gameYes, definitely, it’s fun, addictive, and I wanna play it all the time nowPlease help1/1This gets a perfect 621 score from me UwUAgree or no? Let me know by commenting! You can also suggest games for me to cover in upcoming articles. See yall next Monday with a new review.
