I like to think like, he has the availability to use trading, gts, wonder trade, etc. This sounds more fluid and canon and the idea he got close to Unova is so funny to me

You know, BB Academy though is on water, so maybe he just went out onto the side of the Academy and fished from there using one of his previous pokémon? Even still, the Drayton thing is more sound.

Also makes me wonder how the hell he got a Gligar in Violet if Gligar are only native to Kitakami in Scarlet, so I'm wondering if it's a bullshit plot device where only he has the avilability or an awesomsauce wonder trade. I like to think he definitely studied while the player and Carmine were out doing their own thing.

...Then again, he doesnt know how to use technology, but does take note of the player's phone. Either way.

Thinking about Kieran and his Pokémon a lot so here are some notes I guess, idk for discussion or just ideas.

Dragonite: Dratini isn't native to Kitakami or Blueberry, so Kieran either caught one on mainland Unova (which requires fishing outside Dragonspiral Tower, which is a very funny image to think about.) OR (and more likely) Drayton gave/traded Kieran a Dratini that he got? That does make me wonder why though.

Politoed: Again, not found in Blueberry, but found in Kitakami. So Kieran either caught a new Poliwag before he left, or his Politoed is the son of his Poliwhirl. Given that Blueberry is such a competitive school, it wouldn't surprise me if the Dittos used for Ditto Blocks are also part of like, a school-wide breeding program where you can borrow a Ditto to try and get a different nature/abilities/IVs and stuff

Porygon-Z: Native to Blueberry, but a trade evolution. So either Kieran caught one directly from a Tera Raid, or he traded/traded back with someone. Noting this because it gives me the funny image of Crispin using the opportunity to trade evolve each of his Magmortars, so Kieran is angrily waiting for these six Pokémon to evolve.

Grimmsnarl: Only found in Kitakami, and no other character has it, so Kieran definitely caught it before he left. It did see a lot of usage in VGC 2022, so I'm not like, super surprised, but it is worth noting that Kieran went out of his way to get it.

Incineroar: Definitely understandable because of its usage in VGC. But it is worth noting that Litten isn't available until you as the player upgrade the Canyon Biome, which implies that Kieran didn't catch one until after your arrival? Or he traded with someone else who did have one beforehand. Still worth talking about.

Hydrapple: Okay, so this is obviously the evolved form of his previous Dipplin, BUT, I do think it should be known that Dragon Cheer (used to evolve Dipplin) isn't available until AFTER beating Drayton. Which means that Kieran beat Drayton with a Dipplin. For some reason. Which means he either already knew about Hydrapple, or Dipplin was a support 'mon before evolving, and then became his ace.

So my dad has a rule of thumb about buskers.  If they’re good enough to make you stop and listen, they’re good enough for you to toss some money into their box.  For this guy, I would absolutely shell out and buy one of those CDs that he has for sale.  He’s playing for one of the toughest audiences in the world -- New Yorkers in the godawful environment of an underground New York train station -- and he’s got a whole crowd of them mesmerized.

He’s playing sort of a “Greatest Hits” compilation of popular Jewish tunes (I’m really interested to see that he not only includes “Go Down, Moses” in this repertoire, but also gives a black power salute while playing it; I really want to sit him down and hear what he has to say about that tune), and he’s playing them very well.  I love his use of the saxophone in the beginning and at the end.  I almost think he plays the music better on the saxophone than on the clarinet, although some of that may come from the fact that the saxophone works better as a solo instrument in that kind of environment than the clarinet does.
