Aveyontober 22 - Ball

!!!! I!!!! DID IT!!!!!! THE END!!!!!! WOOHOOO!!!!! Of course I had to end with my sweet children. When Rhen is queen she can declare an evening of celebration whenever she wants and dance the night away with her love and tbh I wish I was her right now, that's the Life. I am so bad at buildings so I was especially proud of the castle. Also I made the texture brushes for the lights and leaves!! Yay. The pose is referenced from a Cinderella screencap, the ballroom scene in that movie is Gorgeous and I've always wanted to try to replicate the feel so Yay for bucket lists.

I drew Rye, and I gave him stubble because it was Necessary. My roomies and I are playing av2 (mostly I am playing and they are watching but we switch off sometimes XD) and we just got to the part where we get Rye nd I am very excited In other news, one more prompt and I'll be done!! It only took me like a whole year-_______- Now, who's ready for THIS year's prompt set? XD XD XD

Aveyontober 17 - Nightmare

It's really interesting to me that so many cultures have or have had a tradition of shaving or cutting hair during mourning. The meaning and intention of it can be very different from one place to another, but almost everyone has a concept of it. Some people cut their hair after a bad breakup, or as a way to rebel and protest lack of autonomy. When my mom got cancer and had to cut her very long, very loved hair, I cut mine so she wouldn't be alone. I think probably, most likely, Amanda gave Dameon his disconnected undercut because it looked cool and rebellious and attractive, and I can't exactly complain because man did it work, but the thing about me is, I will headcanon about my faves, and it so help me it will fit the canon universe as closely as possible because I love these games and these characters and I am gonna see them get the love and attention they deserve even if I do have to do it myself. So my headcanon, which is not canon but which I have taken great care to make fit into canon, is that Dameon shaved his hair because he is grieving, and he is also grieving alone. This is as loud as he can speak to Talia about the hurt she caused. The is the only outlet he has to express that he loved his father and that he remembers what everyone else is trying to bury. He is about 11 here. He probably sewed his robes himself out of materials the binis collected, since uh, there were prooobably not any children's sizes lying around. The light is meant to look harsh and intrusive, I wanted it to represent the burden being placed on him when he is so young, when even an adult should have been given time to rest and process and heal. It is also supposed to represent his father's influence, which was not always everything it should have been despite Dameon's innocent trust in him.

Aveyontober 15 - Crown

Originally I was just going to draw Rhen and Dameon being regal or maybe something with flower crowns but I saw one of my old artworks of Rhen and Dameon expecting their first child and had the Feels again. I've always loved how much Rhen loves children. When I was a child it made me me feel safe and understood and now that I'm an old lady who cares for children it makes me feel validated and powerful. And it's so cute and sweet to think of Rhen getting to have her own family with someone kind and good like her, and getting to make a peaceful gentle home full of love and laughter. And I love to think of Dameon getting the chance to build the open and caring family he didn't have as a child, and both of them just being surrounded by love after everything they went through. They are just. Baby. There are 3 babies in this pic. My babies.

I know, I know, I drew a garden trowel instead. Nina is just such a cute and funny npc. How am I supposed to resist the mental image of this kind-faced, gentle woman just digging in a graveyard with her tiny little shovel, patient and serene like she's planting some flowers or something, how, I ask you.

Aveyontober 8 - Dark

In June I had a rough period (as in menstrual period) and I decided to sketch Rhen and Dameon to feel better and I decided to portray a headcanon as old as the onset of my periods that Dameon helps ease Rhen's pain during her periods because healer, and warm sun magic, and he would tho, and Rhen DESERVES it as does everyone else that has to put up with this nonsense MONTHLY. And then I put this sketch on hold so I could do aveyontober, but THEN my period started AGAIN on the day for the "Dark" prompt, and periods put me in a dark mood because they HURT, so this TOTALLY FITS the prompt and also I needed to work on it to stay peaceful. So I did. Yay.

Aveyontober 18 - Bridge

I drew Vata because of the Rainbow Bridge that you have to open with the dreamer's tear. I drew him before while I had a cold and it was a miserable little attempt, so here is my official apology to Father Time. (An only slightly less miserable little attempt XD) In other news it cracks me up every time that the official name for his temple is just "Time Shrine." Talia gets "Tear Shrine" and Armaiti gets "Greenrock Temple" and Daena gets "Moon Temple" and the list goes on but Vata gets... "Time Shrine" XD XD XD

Aveyontober 2 - Pet

I actually drew pets because I do what I want, and what I've wanted for years was to draw Rhen and Dameon napping with all their pets. Dameon sat down first and was sitting normally and properly on the couch. Softly (the kitty) jumped up on his lap and was also very prim and proper and just happy napping while her mans scratched her ears. Then Spots (the tiger) was jealous of the attention and pushed everyone over in her attempts to insert herself into what was now basically a cuddle pile. Rhen got a blanket and joined because, cuddles, and she also thought it was funny. No (the dog) and Northerner (the parrot) just climbed over everyone because they are shameless. Serpent Spawn (the bat) is pretending to not be affiliated with any of them but secretly loves to catch a few moments of rest next to someone who exudes Calm (Dameon) and someone who can and will vanquish any disturbers (Rhen).

Aveyontober 5 - Rebirth

I have ranted about this part a hundred thousand times and I am never able to fully express how much it means to me. They get to grow past their pain and their fear and the suffocating darkness their lives placed them in and they get to be happy. They are able to walk through to the other side, together, and gain confidence, and freedom, and finally extend the kindness they have been trying to send out into the world to themselves. They have hope and they have each other and they build a beautiful life on that and have so many adventures and finally someone loves them not for their status or abilities or other circumstances of birth but just who they are and that sounds like a small thing but it's everything and it just!! Gives me so much hope in the world!!!!

May I present, her majesty Queen Vlissre of Venwood. She's one of my favorite npcs in the series. I say that every time but, she's so cool. She has the key to Faiara on a chain around her neck, like c'mon. And her AESTHETIC. Amazing. Also her husband (I presume) is just frozen in the marketplace and believed to be a statue and she just Goes With It. Best XD Creakykate on instagram drew this elven monarch first and her version is GORGEOUS and definitely inspired mine so I must give credit and also rec her work, she's amazing, check her out!

Aveyontober 1 - Faiara

Doing my prompt list in July this year. Will probably finish getting them posted here in like November because motivation to share on tumblr is less than 0% on average, but here’s the first one! My baby Talia Maurva meeting her mother Nino. I have many headcanons but some will make more sense shared with a later prompt so for now I will just say I think Talia's appearance is so human and so not-fairy because she grew up in a human village, and magic is often tied to location in Aia, so since she wasn't exposed to all the Fairy magic she didn't develop her fairy features as much. If she stayed in Faiara for an extended period her ears would grow pointed and she'd get some sick wings. That's my headcanon, thanks for reading.

Aveyontober 10 - Shapeshifter

Yvette!!! Technically she calls herself a familiar. And Ean is called a changeling. The only one to actually bear the title shapeshifter in the series is Frederick. I headcanon that's because animals with form-changing abilities are called shapeshifters, humanoids with shape-changing abilities are changelings, and familiars can only change between two types of forms (in Yvette's case, human and bird). Buuuut I drew Yvette anyway because I've only drawn her once and Frederick like twenty times. So XD

Have y'all SEEN Vesipia though? I love her design so much. She's gorgeous and ethereal and fae. She's so dreamy💙💙💙 She's one of the top reasons you just CAN'T skip AP, you're just missing out on too much, don't do it, play the free game!!! PAY THE OG DREAMER YOUR RESPECTS, MORTALS!!! (Also, headcanon that Talia looks more and more fae as she spends more time in the Dreamworld, like centuries instead of ~17 years)

Have this Phye, he's makin a sword to get his vengeance and his eyes are glowing with the fires of his rage. Which, mood.

... ......... ........................................... Okay no I do not know what an anvil looks like but it's FINE, just look at the shiny sword instead, I did so good on the dragon design. I mean, for me XD
