But she grew on him a lot more than he expected. It was a nice surprise, to have someone bring out something new in him, a heart. "Noted, put thought into our dates. Asking for a friend, but what kinda flowers do you like, are you a rose girlie? Your middle name is Rose right, I remembered that correctly?" He could put thought and effort into things, he had this down. "Our second date will be after the new year. We are gonna go to this very lovely Italian restaurant and you will have the most amazing pasta of your life." Because they would be in Italy, as per his incoming Christmas gift. "Don't worry, I will be good. Raelynn is the one to worry about. I don't know what hooligan raised her but not a manner in sight." He said with a teasing laugh. "I'm sure we will find something, maybe a comedy. I think we both need something a little cheerful tonight. Plus I love seeing you smile and laugh. You have an adorable laugh." He said before he put some salt in the pot and stirred.

"Maybe, or maybe I want to keep you guessing. You don't want to play fight with me, Griffin. I have two little brothers. I learned to fight back quick." Avery laughed and shook her head. She had never been good at it, but she had learned to hold her own when it came to the fights she found herself in. "That might not be a bad idea. Hopefully they are easy on you." She couldn't give him any real advice when it came to parenting. Maybe one day, but not right now. "Think what you want, Griffin Gallo. I turned you down more times than I have any other guy." She teased back. "I like it too, but I like other things more. When people put thought into things it makes them mean more. I will take you up on the free lesson, though. It will be needed, I think." She smiled as she watched him cook. It was nice to have someone else waiting on her. "Please do try. My parents aren't hard to impress, but they do expect respect and manners." She ignored the sneaking away part. It didn't surprise her that he mentioned it. "I'm sure you do." She smiled and brushed some hair back behind her ear. Another night she might entertain him, but too much had happened today. "We'll find something random then. It'll be a surprise to us both."
