Me, to my friend, discussing both Barbie and Oppenheimer: I mean actually maybe people should just stop expecting a 2 hour movie or even a 3 hour movie to contain all the things and fix feminism or whatever. You can't fit all the important stuff into that slot, there just isn't room, and the medium doesn't let you ruminate over stuff properly. It has its place, it's part of the narrative, let it be what it is and take from it what's there, then find the rest somewhere else. Seek it out, don't expect it to be handed to you on a platter.
