”because ive been punched before.” ava shrugs. “if i agree to this, and im not saying im going to.” she started looking at malachi. “you have to stay in the back, you can’t be all rushing to my side the second someone gets alittle angry at me.” ava couldn’t believe she was actually considering this idea, but she was. ava knew it was probably a bad idea, but she would consider it next time she had to go and meet with a source she also knew malichi would worry about her eye if she didn’t say something to ease his mind. “if the swelling’s not down by tomorrow morning,” when she said morning they both knew ava ment lunch time. “ill go to the doctor.” she proposed, ava figured it would be fine by tomorrow, or atleast she figured it wouldn’t get anyworse.

”i mean, i would have preferred to not get punched in the face.” ava shrugged. “but hey, shit happens.” ava said while she repositioned the icepack on her eye. “people only agree to talk to me because they see a short blonde woman and think im unintimidating and non-threating… no offense malachi, but your kinda…” ava trailed off looking for the right word to use. “frightening.” she said with a chuckle. “or at least to most people, i know your just a big softy.”

”i mean, i would have preferred to not get punched in the face.” ava shrugged. “but hey, shit happens.” ava said while she repositioned the icepack on her eye. “people only agree to talk to me because they see a short blonde woman and think im unintimidating and non-threating… no offense malachi, but your kinda…” ava trailed off looking for the right word to use. “frightening.” she said with a chuckle. “or at least to most people, i know your just a big softy.”

“yeah, if i went to the doctor simply because i got punched in the face i would end up in the hospital alot.” ava said jokingly, attempting to lighten up the mood. “and hey, while my face now hurt’s this is technically a good thing.” she grinned. “no one gets mad enough to punch someone in the face unless there either a. close to the truth or b. right on the money.” ava grinned while that probably wasn’t necessary true ava had always used people emotions to gage how close to the truth she was, she momentarily took the ice pack off her eye as she pushed herself up to sit on the counter. “which mean’s i’m close to finding out the truth.” ava said as she placed the ice pack back on her eye.
