Memo:
This is just to say / that autumn’s on its way.
Yes you have survived / to see this time arrive.
You can’t distill this flavor / so please take time to savor.
The things we’re used to, now and here/ could vanish in another year.
Fast is change now. / Things are strange now.
You can’t although you think you can / know what will not come again.

Got slightly bored and ended up deciding on rather or not to draw one of the very few others, or even the main two, but ends up picking Eileen even though humans are quite hard to draw, still tried. Only it ended up a bit more of a FarmCore style human being than I was originally going for, but kept it anyway with the long hair and then kind of kept going with making it slightly more Autumn and girlyish at the same time, then waited awhile and added in the bracelet on the right side. Left the rest of the things there, including the Hay. For the most part it should turn out well, but been busy and didn’t have time to draw humans for the most part and so this Ended up looking slightly strange since also included a winged necklace for some extra details and couldn’t really think of anything else to add there, above by the hair or by the wrist area, so it sort of ended up being a bit lopsided for some parts and had to erase some of the longer Lines and all of that, but keeping it like this. Tried adding the sun, but it ended up even more lopsided. Keeping it as is, though, since therefore it ended up being well enough that couldn’t exactly get much else going on with the art anyway. Was too busy trying to get something done.

I just had a dream where Odile adopted Aubrey and she grew up a lot happier and then Aubrey was living in this fancy looking place that Odile entrusted her to cuz she still goes on journeys so she'd visit Aubrey from time to time. And this dream also gave me a beautiful black woman character that I'd never seen before and is most likely my brain mashing together stuff that I've seen throughout the day and decided: Alright, this will be a gorgeous black woman. And yaknow what? So real of my brain to do that.

Vessels of Flesh and The Ever-Dying Mind
If I don't like this poem I'll write another; If I miss my bus I'll catch the next; If I have to wait out in the rain I'll look directly up, breathe in the cold fresh sky, and hope I soak all the way through; And if I fail out of college I'll still have paper, pen, and passion; And if I lose each and every one I love I'll still have memories no one can take away; And if my body dies and takes me with it, I'm sure some time I'll be reborn as human?, bird?, a plant?, a rock?, a cloud?, a one we can't imagine?; If every single god comes to an end a new one will respawn; If the simulation shuts some one will make another; If the cosmos freezes another will take over, as I'm sure it already has countably (or uncountably?) infinitely many times; If time comes to a complete and utter stop it will resume with not a moment passing; Laws of physics come and go; Universes spark and fade; Time branches and curls into some aleph-dimensional fractal; Gods and simulations, heavens and afterlives, times and spaces, speeds of light and strengths of gravity, chemistries of life and the imperfect vessels of flesh and bone who contain the mind, are all so inconsistent; And so is the mind: I die every single second and am born again, and so does the bizarre world I exist in; I am some one's reincarnation, and some time some one will be mine; So if I miss my bus I'll catch the next; And if I have to wait out in the rain I'll look directly up; And if I die I'm sure I'll find a way; And if I do not like this poem I'm sure some other I some other time most definitely will;

Night in the Woods and Pathologic 2 are literally the same game, beyond a few superficial contrasts in presentation there isn’t a single difference.
#this is a vaguepost @ my sister#it is a joke but also if you try to challenge this statement i WILL defend it#*ahem* in this game you play as someone returning to their small town after having left for college (which they did not complete)#the character is honestly great. sarcastic little shit who might stab you but has a heart of gold and is a hero of the people.#the town is a part of you but you're also separate. your home feels like it changed but maybe you're the one who's different.#the town itself is a character. the autumnal atmosphere is not only beautiful but also perfectly ties in with the story's themes of change#the central conflict to the setting of course being the tensions between the past/tradition and the future/progress#drastic measures are employed in order to fight back against all the inevitabilities of industrialization involving ancient powers that be#and you're left to unravel its secrets and address it in just under two weeks before more people get killed#the game is set around 12 days plus a prologue and an epilogue#anyway. you arrive in town and go to your parents house and get in touch with three childhood friends. nothing is the same as when you left.#day 1 will also slap you in the face with a murder mystery but it's far too early for the full scope of the story to be revealed#in the following few days you get to explore the town and choose which npc's to spend time with#the game is designed so that you never have the time to do everything. many events will be locked forever if you don't do them on given days#your character is brash and possibly even violent but still finds themself mentoring kids and showing kindness to strangers#you also talk with a number of older more engrained members of the community and learn about the town's history and spirituality from them#there's a stark contrast between the full and bustling streets vs the abundance of abandoned spaces and empty buildings#you'll also discover that your dreams are packed with meaning and symbolism and will sometimes even see you commune with supernatural forces#tensions will rise as you uncover more and more pieces of the mystery. this ultimately culminates in a journey into the earth below the town#your character visits the magical pit that resides there where you learn the final truths of the story and can finally put it all together#you make a fateful choice in hopes of saving the town and the game ends allowing you to wander it one last time to see the results#you can take your time and when you're ready to end the game you return to a stage you've visited so often for your final goodbyes#of course the similarities don't end there. the weather. the rats. earth/sky dichotomies. the discussions of labor movements.#the church conspicuously lacking any christian iconography. the giant animals as a representation of god but also not. the color palettes.#the human characters who look like stylized dogs and birds. the empty theater. man i could go on forever.#they even each have a side story where you play as a traveling scholar trying to unravel the secrets that lie beyond the veil of death#if i were a games youtuber i would make this into a 20 minute video with spliced footage from both games#for those who don't get the joke nitw has the coziest vibes my side of gaming despite its inherent sadness and patho2 is a survival horror

One-word prompts: Shield
Heather frowns at the sight of the arlen of Amaranthine picking up not a staff, but a sword and shield. “What are you doing?”
Neri raises both eyebrows. “Preparing to spar. What did you think I was doing?”
“But you’re a mage.”
Nathaniel laughs. “Clearly, you’ve never seen Neri in battle before.”
She glares at him. Blighted Howe knew this would happen, didn’t he. “Of course I haven’t.”
“I’ve studied arcane warrior techniques,” Neri explains, their tone diplomatic. “That means I can apply magic in melee combat.”
“That’s… terrifying.”
The feral hint in Neri’s responding smile sends a chill down Heather’s spine. “I used that to my advantage to stop the Blight. Don’t worry, I won’t rely on magic today.”
This friendly match now feels much less so. Heather quickly re-calibrates her mental image of the Hero of Ferelden. The stories about them must hold more truth than she thought.
