MBP Showcases Two Motorbikes in Auto Expo 2023 to be Sold in India

On the second day of the Auto Expo 2023, the MBP a renowned Italian motorcycle brand showcased MBP C1002V and MBP M502N, two bikes. Most probably these bikes will be available in India in the future and sold through the Benelli-Keeway dealership. It is the company’s first time in the country to have launched the selling of its new motorbikes.

MBP M502N has skeel body panels with an aerodynamic stance. It is a street naked motorbike with a parallel-twin engine that is 486cc liquid-cooled. One of the advanced features includes a 4.2-inch TFT colour screen. The engine is also equipped with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike will provide 45Nm torque at 6,750rpm with 46.9hp power output at 8,500rpm.

This bike also has a KYB suspension comprising an adjustable mono-shock and fork. It will have a seat height of 790 mm, running on Pirelli Angel GT tyres. MBP M502N also offers twin brakes in the front and at the rear, there is a single disc. Another add-on is a dual-channel ABS. The bike will individually weigh without fuel as 198 kg.

MBP C1002V cruiser on the other hand will have a 5-inch TFT dash display with a projector LED headlight set in an aluminum alloy frame. It will bear a 997cc liquid-cooled V-Twin engine. Like its counterpart, it has dual-channel ABS. But it will have the support of KYB at the front and rear.

The Indian automobile market will also see a comeback by LML in the electric vehicles section. At the Auto Expo 2023, the company revealed the LML Star electric scooter that has a futuristic design with red accents and dual shades of white and black. This electric scooter also showcases LED Daytime Running Lamps and LED projector headlamps. It also boasts haptic feedback, a 360-degree camera, and LED lighting.

Battrixx investing in sodium-ion chemistry despite commercial challenges

New Delhi: Battery pack manufacturer, Battrixx, introduced high-voltage battery packs for the tractor and commercial vehicles at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, 2024. The unveiled products are for a 27 hp tractor, a 40 hp tractor, and two variants with power ratings of 15 kW and 32 kW light commercial vehicle targeting 0.5-tonne and 2-tonne vehicles.

Anand Kabra, Vice Chairman and MD, Battrixx, emphasized the incorporation of advanced technologies, such as active cooling, higher life cycle, increased energy density, faster charging, and faster discharging, tailored to meet specific end-user requirements in the battery packs. In an interaction with ETAuto, Kabra shed light on the company's latest innovations and future prospects.

With a focus on electric vehicles (EVs), Kabra mentioned that the growing interest is in the passenger vehicle segment, with several brands gearing up to launch electric variants. Battrix has already transferred technology for a 56 kWh pack designed for passenger vehicles, emphasizing the need for customization based on customer specifications, size, space, and evolving cell technologies.

Addressing the evolving landscape of battery technologies, Kabra revealed Battrix's investments in sodium-ion chemistry. "We don't see sodium packs getting commercial anytime soon, but from a battery angle, we will continue to make investments into such kinds of chemistries," he said. Despite challenges related to energy density and high-temperature performance in sodium-ion technology for EVs, the company remains optimistic about its future. Kabra acknowledged that while sodium-ion packs might not become commercialized soon, Battrix will continue to invest in research and development to overcome existing challenges. As for the current product portfolio, Battrix offers a wide range, including two-wheelers with various chemistries such as NMC chemistry, LFP chemistry, LMFP chemistry, NCA chemistry, etc., three-wheeler packs for rickshaws and cargo vehicles, battery management systems, and IoT solutions. The focus on high-voltage batteries is primarily on tractors and commercial vehicles, with ongoing discussions about potential expansion into buses and trucks. Auto Industry Update for 2024

My experience working for Lexus for seven years has made me intimately familiar with the brand. I’m working as a technician now but, after completing my BA, I hope to advance within the company. To keep pace with industry advancement I keep track of what other manufacturers are doing with their vehicles, including what new models are being released and what new technologies are being developed outside of Lexus. I do this by sampling other manufacturers' vehicles during used car reconditioning and by going to trade shows such as the North Texas Auto Expo. In this post, I will briefly discuss some new vehicles and tech that are important to the industry. The muscle car industry is going through significant changes for the 2024 model year. For the past decade, there have been 3 major players; Ford with the Mustang, Chevrolet with the Camaro, and Dodge with the Challenger. For 2024 the Camaro is being discontinued and the Challenger is going electric. I know full well that electric cars are the way of the future, but there is really something special about the traditional front engine, rear wheel drive All-American V8 powered muscle car that no electric car can replicate. That is the driving experience. All is not lost yet because while the Dodge and the Chevy muscle cars are to suffer the same fate as the dodo bird the Mustang is all new and redesigned for 2024. The new Mustang, known to Ford gurus as the S650 will retain the same engine and transmission options as the outgoing S550 model but will feature an entirely new exterior and interior design in addition to some new features and trim packages. One interesting feature is the electronic drift brake which will be optional on both four-cylinder and GT models. Another new model for 2024 is the all-new Toyota Landcruiser for the first time in over 40 years the Landcruiser will feature a 4-cylinder engine. Also new is the Land Cruiser hybrid system which is good for a combined 326 horsepower and 456-foot pounds of torque. That’s good for a torque increase of 55-foot pounds over the outgoing V8. The new Land Cruiser features a slew of off-road tech and a thirty-one-degree angle of approach. For those who are not familiar with off-road lingo, the approach angle refers to the design of the vehicle nose that will allow it to ascend steep slopes without scraping. As a lover of internal combustion engines, there is some sad news for the new vehicle market in 2024, but still a lot of exciting new vehicles coming soon.

Maruti Swift 2023: Maruti could launch the new Swift in India by March 2023. The India-spec Swift's 1.2-liter DualJet petrol engine (90PS/113Nm) will be electrified in some way, most likely with a mild hybrid system. Either a standard 5-speed MT or a 5-speed AMT will likely be an option for it. Later, a CNG kit ought to be a possibility as well. Possibly new additions include a head-up display and a 9-inch touchscreen gadget. It's likely that Maruti will continue to provide connected car technology, auto air conditioning, and cruise control. Its safety net may include up to six airbags, an electronic stabilisation programme (ESP), and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

Maruti Swift Hybrid: Soon after the Swift hybrid was displayed at the Auto Expo, rumours of its release on the market for automobiles began to circulate. The Swift hybrid's 1.2-liter petrol engine produces 91PS and 118Nm, while the electric motor generates 13.5PS and 30Nm. With this Swift model, Suzuki offers a 5-speed AMT gearbox together with paddle shifters. Maruti Suzuki Expected equipment: It adds equipment such as ventilated front seats, cruise control, and paddle shifters over the base Swift.
