The research paper

It is finished. It ended up about 1,800 words. I dedicated a whole paragraph to rant about autism speaks (politely). I’ve put it on google drive and linked it right after this sentence.

If there’s any abeism, please let me know. I tried as hard as I could to not have anything ableist in there, but I may have missed something. I’m slowly learning what is and isn’t, I wasn’t aware of what ableism really was until recently, so let me know if y’all find anything. I’m still learning!

And tell me what you think! Good? Bad? Incorrect? Correct? Anything I left out I should have added? I’m a writer, so any constructive tips are greatly appreciated.

Research Paper

Hi, everybody! So I’m writing a research paper in my World Literature class, and we were allowed to choose topics. I decided to do Autism and it’s representation in movies, (I may have to do a specific movie.) - Is representation accurate? I’m hoping to find one that is wholly inaccurate and has vast popularity, so I can just completely debunk it, but googling it is exceptionally difficult because I can’t seem to find ones that I know have been mentioned here. I know they’ve been mentioned here. If y’all could name the movies that you felt were the most inaccurate as to what Autism is, I would really, really appreciate it. 

If you can find it, it would be nice if I could get citable sources that debunk (for lack of a better word) the inaccuracies. 

I may also talk about movies that represent it accurately, and perhaps contrast the two. I know Power Rangers and Sesame Street would be good for that. If I need more, I’ll just ask.

I’m really, really excited about this. It fits really well with the month. I started to wiggle and stuff in my seat when it was announced and I’d figured out what I was going to do.
