To Crown Prince Victor Nikiforov of the kingdom of Petersburg, nothing can be worse than an arranged marriage. A man desperate to marry for love, would do anything to avoid arriving in the new kingdom of Hasetsu, which was previously destroyed by a volcanic eruption that took the life of their own prince, where he is destined to marry Princess Mari, two years his senior.

As fate would have it, Victor's crew encounters a typhoon that throws the prince overboard. His life is spared, somehow, be it luck or destiny, and he wakes up on an unfamiliar and seemingly uninhabited isle. That is, until he notices the man hovering over him.

His savior is none other than the lost prince of Hasetsu.

i’m the weakest for royal and fantasy aus so of course this fic is showing up here, as a combination of both! it’s such an interesting story with a lot of heart, and so sweet and sad at times—i enjoyed this a lot :)

My honest review:

This fic is… something. First of all, it was the first of its kind in our fandom. It has extremely dark moments, and times where the author dares to give the reader a sliver of hope for Yuuri’s life and happiness, before snatching it away again

I love the time period chosen, I love the style, I love the flashback sequences. The most surprising part of it all is that the author, Red, isn’t a well-known writer in the fandom. She’s put out some incredible work!
