Have you had too much of the cold?

That's unfortunate. This is Ilia, and the cold is here to stay.

Some of your teammates have run into a ray of hope in the form of Dehlia, Captain of Ilia's Twelfth Wing of Pegasus Knights, who has begrudgingly agreed to lead you all to her village should you wish to follow.

(Blackmail is bad, kids.)

The village of Reval awaits, and its residents tentatively accept (most of) you with open arms. Sort of.

What you know

Okay so maybe dragons are real after all. Elibe dragons, that is. As opposed to being stuck on the other side of the Dragons' Gate as many would have instead surmised or hoped, given humans put them there awhile ago and all. You know how it is.

Prior to boarding your ill-fated ship, you were briefed as to the situation on Elibe pertaining to the Church of Elimine's stance on the dragons' return - that they ought to be welcomed back not as enemies but as friends. News is slow getting to these remote mountains. As far as they're aware, last they heard the church was of a very different opinion on the matter.

Many of the villagers have been going missing lately, in particular those meant to act as protectors.

What to do

You have it on good authority that though their wares are like to be scant, they do have some wares, at the least... Time to visit the local shoppe perhaps, see about some supplies.

The townsfolk are fretting over one of their own having been gone much longer than is customary for him. He's one of their foremost hunters, so they aren't exactly keen on this happening, you see. But what with the recent string of disappearances, they're a little nervous to go out looking for him...

Speaking of the disappearances, what's up with those? Rumours abound: maybe it's the pixies, or a vampire's work, or maybe someone's sacrificing people to bring the dragons back, or perhaps they're just losing their way in the cold. Who knows. Could be worth investigating though.

Stores are starting to get low - worryingly so with a number of extra mouths to feed. They're not setting off quite yet, but the villagers are readying to head out on a hunt soon, and you're all invited. Two hunts, in fact!

Lilina is content enough to watch from the sidelines, maybe find a bush to conceal herself further. In truth, despite her desires, she would rather stay hidden lest she embarrass herself. Though, it seemed this was not in her fate. She isn’t so much spotted, but the man behind her, and only then does her presence become known. Very known.

          She shrinks in his presence and even more so at all the buff mercenaries and knights gazing at them. Was she in trouble? She knew this party was something under wraps, but surely even authority figures could give her some grace.

          Hands move to fiddle with her bracelet as sweat beads on her forehead as she tries to think of some excuse to explain herself. She had briefly met the professor, but to see him again in a situation like this, well, she didn’t take him for the cut loose type.

          And what would he say if she told him she did want to join? This is not an activity for you students, it is past your curfew, or something along those lines. She didn’t want to leave if it wasn’t her own will, but she also didn’t want to face any reprimanding for showing up to a secret party in the first place.

          “Um… Well, I, I just…” she stammers, growing hotter with each syllable.

One of the men grins, resting his axe on his hip. “Look what you did, you’re making her nervous.” He rests the thing in her hands, urging her to take it. Her arms wobble, not expecting the sudden weight nor the axe at all. “Give it a swing, lass. It’ll help take your worries out.”

          He looks up to Diamant now, giving him a hard clap on the back. “Why don’t you show ‘er? Me n the boys would love to see the famed Diamant in action after all!” At this, his posse hoot and holler wildly.

Kurtbastian Fic Rec

Since Covid took over our lives a couple of years ago, I refuged to the fanfiction world to escape my non-existent life and I surprised myself by finding shelter in a ship that used to be just a fun idea to me. the more I read about this non-canon couple, the more I fell in love with them. so here's my KurtandSebastian fic list. make sure to check the trigger warnings supplied by the author for each fic before you read it because some of these could be triggering.

1.Glitter and Grease by scifigeek14

by far, this is my favorite dynamic between Kurt and Seb. I love it when Kurt stands up for himself. and I love it when Sebastian is not a knight in shining armor saving the damsel in distress but just simply a companion. someone who loves and is there for you. bonus point: Kurt strip dancing in black leather and lace. the visual it brings me is so aesthetically satisfying.

2. It's Hard To Be The One Who Stays + The Presence of Absence by romantic_drift (part 1 & 2 of Defying Gravity verse)

One of the greatest takes on the soulmate concept. from the moment you meet them to where it takes you. this is the story that made me want to fall in love.

3. Matchstick Dreams by egoistoh

Rom-com but the writer is a genius. never read a better description of these characters before. the characterization is just on spot. it's a fun and heartwarming story too.

4. Breathe Me (3 parts) by cacophonylights

Hot. that's the main quality. Hot as Hell. angsty and sexy.

5. Shape My Edges and Broker My Assent by lilinas

Let's just say it's not the fic category I normally read. but this story is just...Magic. the angst, the hurt, the message, the storytelling, everything about this fic is perfect. I cried a lot reading it and couldn't finish it in a go because it's a traumatic story but the sadness was addictive so I couldn't not finish it as fast as I could. it will live rent-free in my mind for a long time for sure. it's not for everyone though. Mind the TWs.

6. everything this author writes: Lady Divine (DivineLady91)

honestly, I'm not joking. no matter what fandom or which ship, this woman never disappoints. I've read a good amount of her fanfics and Loved them all. to mention some of my KB favorites: Deliver Me 'verse, A Memorable Easter Eve for Kurt Hummel, A Thousand Ways to Fall, Private Dancer, Kurt's Bucket List, When You Come Around, and Twenty Minute Love Affair.

7. Handle Me by flipmeforward

very kinky but actually very cute. Explicit but so romantic. The general sense of acceptance and body respect.

8. Kurt Hummel Has Mail by erisgregory

A cute rom-com, where dumbasses make mistakes but they'll get their happy-ending eventually.

9. This Will Be Our Year by iaminarage

A sports AU, Ice skating to make it better, banter happens, love happens, and you'll have so much fun reading it.

10. A New Way to Fall Apart by thelegendofjenna

This is one of those fics that take place in the summer and proceed to make you feel it's actually summer. There's also this fantastic OC that makes you fall in love with the story ten times more. so much drama, so much friendship, basically teenagers being teenagers.

11. Going Through the Motions by JWMelmoth

This one holds a special place in my heart because: ✨Asexual Character!✨

12. A Little Late by cacophonylights

I'm a sucker for misunderstanding tropes, so...! apart from that this is actually quite lovely. valentine AU.

I didn't think putting A Change in the Weather and A Drop in the Ocean on the list would be necessary. that AU is fandom culture. another famous awesome fic is Barista Confessions that I love a lot.

I can't think of anything else for now. I hope these recommendations help someone. have fun.

The second time G'raha Tia held his son he thought his heart might burst from his chest.

His children were precious, beautiful little things, nearly small enough to fit perfectly into the palms of his hands, and despite all his fears over the last nine moons they were in perfect health, wailing as loud as the far-from-forgotten chorus of cheers he remembered from the Crystarium. Their mother was fine too, her face still radiant in spite of its exhaustion as she pressed against his thigh, overtaken by sleep at last. Despite the chaos of it hardly a bell ago, peace had overtaken the bedroom, the noise given way to a soothing spring breeze outside and the warm hum of a traditional Cieldalaen lullaby as his mother-in-law sang to his daughter across the room.

He wasn't quite sure when it started, but as he cradled Luneth close to his chest the muslin swaddling grew dotted with saltwater. A small gasp cut the sweet song in twain as Lilina caught sight of the tears rolling down to his chin and she reached out to grab her husband's sleeve, urging him to go over.

"You alright, son?" Toru asked quietly when he approached to place a firm hand on G'raha's elbow—the highest point that the Lalafellin man could reach while standing beside the bed, an echo of a reassuring grasp on the shoulder—but G'raha didn't know how to answer, a tempest gale welling in his throat at the final word.

Neither of the children were born with Lunya's white hair, though he knew to expect it when told that hers had been pitch black in her childhood, like Lilina's and now Luneth's. He also knew they would be small, far smaller than all the Crystarium's children he personally named and blessed as the Exarch by their dual heritage, and boast an innate magical talent.

What he hadn't considered was their eyes.

The gift Doga and Unei bestowed him was meant to be ephemeral—bound to a few years of his lifetime at most, he once assumed in his youth. But when Luneth and Nynya both opened their eyes for the first time, a familiar vermilion left G'raha thunderstruck.

Had he cursed his own children to face what he did?

His parents tried to keep him safe, but a position as the G tribe's nunh only went so far in authority and his mother's protective grip on him severed him further from his half-siblings, and they could not keep every torment from slipping through the cracks. Would he fall to the well-intentioned mistakes of his parents before him? Would his children resent him for passing on the royal brand, or would they become obsessed with it as he had, chasing a dream beyond the reaches of time so far that he forgot to live in the present? Was he even capable of being a good father when he was hardly even a good grandfather to Lyna, unable to leave her with more than a feeble half-goodbye?

"They have my eyes," G'raha said quietly.

"And what a wonderful colour they are," Lilina cooed as she rocked her granddaughter gently, though she never looked away from him as she did. The intensity of her gaze was the same as her daughter's, relentlessly sincere in their clarity. "A gift from a man who will make an incredible father."

"Will I?" he asked, feeling weaker than he ever had before as Luneth squirmed in his arms, mewling quietly. "I have passed on quite the burden to them."

"A gift," Lilina repeated adamantly with the full force of a storm. "Do you resent your own?"

His answer was instant, on his tongue before he could summon it. "Never." How could he when it gave him a way to save the lives of Lunya and millions more, when it brought hope to Norvrandt to hold out a hundred years longer? When it was the symbol of a love that withstood calamities to fulfill an ancient wish? When his father once called him his pride and joy?

"Yeyema has loved you regardless," Toru reminded him, looking at the woman who remained curled against G'raha's side, her devotion shining on her left hand and in the way she clung to him even in her sleep. "And so have we."

"They're beautiful," Lunya would still tell him even when he was long past the days when he desperately needed reassurance that his eyes were not something wrong or ugly, always more honest with him than she dared to be with anyone else, so much that he fell in love with her over and over and over again. "Like dawn over the Merlthor."

G'raha looked down at the bundle in his arms. Luneth gurgled, his kitten ears twitching as his father reached down to gently touch his nose, ruby eyes wide. In his son's sanguine eyes he could see the future, bright and beautiful and full of potential, and he thought that this might have been what his own father saw in him.

Toru looked back at Lilina, who shook her head with a smile.

Summary: When his already-fraught relationship with Roy escalates to a confrontation, Hector must decide how to make amends— if he can stomach the thought of apologizing in the first place. Takes place a year before FE6.

Warnings: Mild blood.

Author’s Notes: When I started this fic a few years ago, it came from a desire to respond to the (mostly FEH) fandom’s portrayal of Hector harboring a seething, sitcom-dad-level hatred for Roy out of an instinct to “protect” his daughter. There were two directions I could go: write something fluffy in which Hector and Roy are already pals, or explore a scenario where Hector evolves from antipathy into respect and even love. And, while realistically I’m inclined to think Hector never had a problem with Roy (and FEH later basically confirmed this), one of those is a story and the other is not.

Nevertheless, she felt a weight vanish from her chest at his easy acceptance. Really, she didn’t know why she had expected any different. Maybe her nerves really were getting the better of her tonight.

Father smiled widely at the sound of her laughter. “Well?” he prompted once she was done, holding out her dress in both hands. “Are you ready to try it on, lass?”

Without giving herself a moment to think about it, Lilina pushed herself out of her chair. “Yes,” she said decisively. “I’m ready.”

nora posted a fe3h verse for clara and i’m a weak fool so here i am with a 3h verse for roy...

elroy von pherae (typically known as roy to his friends and family) is the eldest son of eliwood von pherae, the marquess of a minor territory -- pherae -- in the leicester alliance. to better prepare for his inheritance of the pherae region, roy is attending the officer’s academy and is a student of the golden deer house. he is childhood friends with the current marquess of ostia’s daughter lilina, and was tutored by cecilia pre-officer’s academy but i’d have to actually sit down and think about how that works in fodlan. oh well, it’s fine.

he possesses a minor crest of roland, the second in his family for centuries to bear it. ( the previous is his father eliwood, who bears the major crest of roland. ) the mark is on his back between his shoulder blades. the associated hero’s relic is durandal, though it was considered a secret of house pherae and kept under lock and key even from its own bloodline until eliwood’s major crest of pherae surfaced.

okay, onto specifics!

availability: verdant wind ( default ), azure moon, silver snow.

if unrecruited in azure moon, roy will appear among claude’s forces during the gronder bloodbath. if defeated, he will die in battle. 

if unrecruited in silver snow, roy will simply not appear during the war phase.

roy is not recruitable in crimson flower except for under very specific circumstances: either edelgard or byleth must speak to him on the battlefield during chapter 14, where claude is fought, then best him in combat. they will be given the option to recruit him or finish him off. if recruited, his father must be kept alive until the end of the battle-- if eliwood dies, roy will refuse to join the player’s party. if eliwood is killed after roy has been recruited, he will revert back into being an enemy unit.

recruitment requirements: b in authority, skill stat of 20-25.

personal skill: lionheart -- grants self & adjacent units atk/spd +3 at the start of the turn. ( it’s basically a watered down human virtue. )

crest: minor crest of roland. when it activates, the bearer can strike twice before being counterattacked, much like a brave weapon.

strengths: swords, axes, authority, riding

weaknesses: reason, faith, brawling

budding talent: lances

“canon” promotion: hero

paralogue: title pending, but it’s post timeskip. roy will hear word that imperial forces are attacking pherae while his father is recovering from an illness, and request byleth’s help in defending his homeland. they will accept, and the goal of the paralogue will be to rout the enemy while keeping eliwood ( and possibly lilina, if she’s not already a party member ) alive. upon completion, byleth will receive durandal from eliwood, as roy can safely use it.

if claude or roy speaks to eliwood during the paralogue in verdant wind, eliwood himself will join the party.

roy will also have a secret weapon available to him much like claude, mercedes, etc do: dragonbind, which can be found in a chest in enbarr in azure moon, silver snow, and verdant wind. it is an a-rank sword that allows roy to counterattack regardless of distance.

Slowly, Lilina begins to speak now with Weiss, absorbing her conversation with Corrin. "Lysander spoke of... beasts and cave-ins as I recall." Though it seems awfully quiet, for now. 

She takes a moment to pause, brows furrow as she begins to piece every bit of information they have together. Rules set in place by some other form of authority. To protect Weiss specifically, but if that were the case, then why had she been allowed to come with them? Though she had just met her, she would come bearing news of a family loss. Finally, she looks back up to her, expression stoic and determined.

"Weiss... I will do everything in my power to return you back home safely, but in the event things go awry... do you know how to fight? Or at the very least will you be able to run?"

Weiss blinks, and then nods lightly - vague acknowledgement of Lilina's promise. She pats the tome at her waist. "I am adept in magic. I need not run." Then, after a contemplative pause: "I will be all right. You need not worry. I am to guide you. Was there anything you wanted to look at, or shall we move on?"

A mage. Though instinctively, she wants to scold lightly by commenting if you say so, she knows better than to doubt someone else’s abilities until proven. 

“...Let us move on then,” she says, nodding decisively.

The group continues on, entering a second chamber hosting several large and deep basins. There are a few uncovered and if she were to lean a little closer on her toes, she would see a crystal blue substance inside. She couldn’t help but notice how similar the color is to the shade to the cavern and gems they had seen just prior.

She slows to a halt in front of one of the basins, staring up at it. Her gaze catches onto a ladder leading up to the opening and she climbs upon it. So there was life down here after all… Surely it must be somewhat safe to investigate further. 

When she reaches the top and gets a better view, the scent is nothing too pungent, but not what she was expecting either. From the looks of it, she suspects it would smell synthetic, but it has an earthy, slightly sweet aroma gently emerging from it. Regardless of how harmless it seems, she errs on the side of caution to reach out and touch it. Her hand retracts momentarily as it feels smooth, squishy, somewhere between solid and liquid.

“What is this?”

Weiss shakes her head. "I've never seen it before." She blinks, looking at it closer from another vat. She, too, climbs up a few steps, but instead of a cautious approach, just sticks her arm right in up to her shoulder. "Feels weird. But familiar." Swish, swish."

"Familiar in what way?" Her brow raises toward her first, then at back down at the material. If she could stick her arm so casually in it, she either was fearless or it was truly harmless. Lilina cautiously follows her lead and grabs a hold of a chunk of it where her reflection used to be, breaking the once perfectly glossed over top. 

"... Like something from long ago. I can't remember..."

"Perhaps we should take a sample... just in case." Lilina hops down and offers a hand to Weiss if she wants it, adding, "What would something like this be doing in a mine?" She kneads the substance in her hand, "unless the crystals we saw earlier are made from... this?" 

Weiss pulls her arm out, substance falling from her. Strangely, it doesn't seem to adhere to her as much as to Lilina - a quick shake and flick of arm and wrist and she's unencumbered. She too hops down, only noticing Lilina's outstretched hand after the fact. She blinks. Doesn't comment on it. "I think that is a safe assumption to make."

What this means, she isn’t sure, but she pulls a small tin container from the rations at the campsite and stores their new find in there for the time being.

coralin is... so tired. after the incident with roy and lilina and eliwood's plans to go against her word to avenge lilina, and the shouting match with soren when he criticized her trying to stay positive, she's come to the conclusion that no one in the order actually respects her or her authority which feeds into her self esteem issues, depression, and general feelings of inadequacy.

she's very tempted to relinquish said authority and just act as a hero-spawning machine with no say in what goes on around her- because clearly her voice and opinions don't matter, right?

Not to be that person ™ but the Koi to Uso manga pisses me off so much because every time it so much as looks at Nisaka, there is suddenly five million chapters that are as far removed from Nisaka’s character arc as straight boys thinking Nisaka likes Misaki. Like!!! It was just starting to get interesting with Nisaka and Neji (in that Neji realized Nisaka was being weirdly distant and that something is going on) and suddenly in 176, we’re thrust into some Lilina bullshit? Full offense but I don’t see how it’s relevant to what was already established in the previous chapters. Don’t get me wrong, I like Lilina but I cannot understand for the life of me the decision to switch to her. I wish the author would entertain a storyline longer before switching/adding another element of complication.

How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?

Three. When I finish writing the chapter, I go back over it quickly to catch any glaring errors. Then, JayhawkWrites, who betas almost everything I write now, goes over it for me. (Thank God for her! She's amazing!) Then, I go over it again once she's done, and I do a quick once over it again before I post.

If you were to revise one of your older fics from start to finish, which would it be and why?

Never Saying Goodbye. I feel like the plot is lacking, and I was very nervous about writing smut back then. I'd love to go back and give more emotional details as well as completely rework the (sorta) smut scene at the end to be a little more...confident.

What do you look for in a beta?

I've never actually had to look for a beta...JayhawkWrites volunteered not long after we became friends, and she's been doing it for me ever since. If I needed to find someone, though, I'd want someone who would be willing to let me bounce ideas off of them. I do a lot of talking/thinking out loud about fics with JayhawkWrites before I ever sit down to write. I would also need someone who is willing to point out when something sucks or needs more development.

If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?

Ohhh...This is a really hard question. I've read so many fics that I absolutely love, and narrowing it down is so hard... Recently, I read HKvoyage's story, The Seduction, and I didn't want it to end! So, it would be pretty fun to write a sequel to that story. I also love Lilinas's series Expectation Fails. It's been a source of inspiration for the D/s story I'm going to be working on soon, and it would be really fun to write a story in her universe as well.

Do you take liberties with canon or are you very strict about your fic being canon compliant?

Well, most of what I write is AU, so I'd say that I take liberties with canon when/if I need to. I'm honestly not sure that I've ever written a fic that closely adhered to canon...

Talk about a review that made your day.

I've had so many lovely reviews, but I think my favorites are probably the ones that mention their favorite line in the chapter and explain why they love it. I've also had a few where the commenter told me that the story I was updating was their favorite story in the In Every Lifetime verse. I love all my comments, though!

Do you ever get rude reviews and how do you deal with them?

Thankfully, I haven't really had any rude reviews. I've been quite blessed in that so much of what I've written has been well-received. If I did get a rude comment, though, I'd like to think that I'd try to do my best to ignore it.

What advice do you have for people just starting to write?

Don't get caught up in whether your fic is as good as someone else's or if anyone will want to read your story. Write first and foremost for you because you have a story to tell. Everything else is secondary.

Which fic do you most like to discuss with other people? Why?

I always have the most fun discussing whatever fic I'm currently working on because it's freshest in my mind, but I think my favorite fic to talk about was When Worlds Collide. There were so many pieces from JayhawkWrites story, The Silver-Scaled Mark, that I wove into this story that it's fun to discuss all the ways the two stories tie into one another and the In Every Lifetime series as a whole.

What's one aspect of writing fic that gets you really excited?

Going on a new adventure. Each fic that I write is chalk full of new things for me to research and learn about, and that's one of my favorite parts of writing fic. Along with that, too, is the personal journey I go on when I write a fic. Each story that I've written contains some little part of me, and I always find writing to be very cathartic.

Never Saying Goodbye -  Kurt is looking for a way to prove to Blaine that they will be together forever, even after Kurt's graduation and move to New York. Kurt doesn't think words are good enough to suffice, so he comes up with a better, much bigger way to prove his commitment to Blaine.

Five Times Kurt and Blaine Didn't Plan on Getting Sexy and One Time They Did -  Blaine is the sexiest thing Kurt has ever seen. Kurt is the sexiest thing Blaine's ever seen. They have a hard time controlling their urges and keeping their hands off of one another. In this story, they always fail.

Just When I Was Falling -  When the counselor catches Kurt looking at a pamphlet about depression, she gives him a website to visit where he can chat anonymously with other students who have been bullied. A reluctant Kurt signs up and makes his first post which launches him into an online friendship with someone he'd really like to know in person. And, maybe someday, he will.

Xander: After facing you in battle so many times, I can sense when you are nearby. I considered you one of the most – no, in fact the most dangerous opponent I faced when I was fighting by Princess Veronica’s side. Your unorthodox strategies and improvisations kept me constantly on edge when I was fighting.

(y/n): I could say the same about you. You can turn the tide of a battle with one swing of Siegfried. It’s… reassuring to have you on our side now, Prince Xander.

Xander: But clearly I have not completely earned your trust, since you saw the need to spy on me, Summoner.

(y/n): No! I invited you to this castle of my own accord. I entered that grand battle willingly and won you over as a comrade. It’s just…

Xander: It’s just?

Xander: Have I offended you somehow? You’ve been avoiding me since the other day.

Xander: Unfortunately, I’m no stranger to that sort of thing. People often tell me that they find me rather intimidating.

(y/n): It’s not that either… Prince Xander, I’d like to ask a personal question, if you don’t mind.

[Xander raises a questioning eyebrow, but nods in assent.]

(y/n): Umm, do you find being in a war too much sometimes?

Xander: There are occasions when I feel sorrow for my enemies. But as a prince and a soldier, I cannot shy away from the fighting. If anyone gets in my way, their fate is to be cut down by my sword. That is all.

(y/n): Oh…

Xander: You are quite seasoned in battle, are you not? If memory serves, the one calmly giving out orders no matter how chaotic the situation gets is you. You cut an imposing figure in battle, (y/n).

(y/n): That’s because there’s so many people relying on me to do the job right. I can’t afford to make even one mistake because it’s not me getting hurt out there, it’s my friends and allies. I don’t have the magic potential to even be a healing support, much less fight! I’m useless. All I do is stand safely at the back and tell people what to do.

Xander: What? Is that what you’ve been thinking of yourself? You are our tactician, a valuable asset to our ranks!

(y/n): In my world’s history books, there are many wars that were begun simply because some people in charge didn’t like their neighbours. Soldiers were simply collateral damage, civilians became innocent sacrifices. How can I look at our army and not feel guilty for forcing them to fight for Askr?  

[The summoner covers their eyes.]

(y/n): I still can’t wrap my mind around all this fighting – that I could walk out of the castle and be stabbed if I wasn’t careful. Coming from a peaceful world where hardly any one carries weapons and then being thrown into such a violent world where even simple farmers have to know how to fight. But listen to me going on and on about myself. I’m sorry, Prince Xander. You shouldn’t have to listen to my -

Xander: No.

(y/n): Huh?

Xander: You were thrust into a difficult position despite your inexperience, yet you rose to the challenge as best as you could. You are quite like Princess Veronica in that aspect. Even your eyes remind me of hers.

(y/n): Do you… miss her? Whenever you talk about her your face kind of relaxes.

Xander: Heh. Do you suspect me of showing sympathy to our enemy, Summoner?

(y/n): Sometimes I feel sorry for Veronica too. In my world we would never have a young girl lead a nation’s army. She’s just a kid!

Xander: I feel much the same way. It is one of the reasons why I willingly chose to fight for her in order to share her burdens if I could. And now I can do the same for you, (y/n). I have pledged my loyalty to you – now allow me to offer not just my fighting skill but also my guidance. If you ever feel constricted by all the responsibilities you have, come talk to me. Perhaps I can lighten your load.

(y/n): Really? I don’t want to trouble you, though.

Xander: No trouble at all. We are comrades now, and we should support each other, no?

(y/n): Wahhh… you’re actually really nice even though your eyebrows are so fierce-looking, huh?

Xander: Excuse me?

(y/n): Nothing!

Xander: The leaves are starting to change colour. Have I been in Askr for that long? It seems like only yesterday that I was in Nohr, enjoying one of our infamous winter frosts with my family…

(y/n): Now you’re the one with the sad look on your face, Xander. What’s up?

Xander: (y/n)! I was just lost in thought.

(y/n): Really? You look very tired, though. Have you been sleeping well?

Xander: I suppose I’m just worried about my family, wherever they are right now. Are they safe and healthy? When will I see them again, if we manage to survive… If Icould sur…? Forgive me, (y/n). I’m just wool-gathering.

(y/n): Xander, are you alright? You look so pale. Let me take you to the infirmary, or bring you a cup of tea or, or…!

Xander: Calm down. I’m not about to collapse on the floor. The talk we had the other day about how all this fighting weighs heavily on your spirit lingers in my mind. After all, it’s important to consider the morale of our tactician.

(y/n): Well, about that… the reason why I approached you about it was because I sensed the same feelings from you.

Xander: From… me?

(y/n): Yeah. You talk about the necessity of fighting to protect your homeland and all that, but you always look so strained after each battle. You said that crossing swords can tell both parties things that mere words can’t convey… well, after fighting against you and now with you, I just got the feeling that this war depresses you like it depresses me. I mean, we didn’t exactly cross swords but… Oh man, am I confusing you?

[To the Summoner’s shock, Xander starts to laugh.]

Xander: No, no, I’m not mocking you. There’s no need to make that expression. Your perceptiveness surprised me, is all. So all this time when you were watching me, it was because you felt I was a kindred spirit?

(y/n): I knew for sure that you didn’t fight us out of mere spite, at least.

Xander: Ha! The other Heroes still regard me with suspicion, but you always look at me with such honest eyes. I thank you, Summoner. Your words gladden me… and you are right. You and I are more alike than I thought.

(y/n): Really? Then we could be besties!

Xander: Bes… ties?

(y/n): Best friends! Friends!

Xander: Friends, huh?

[(y/n) and Xander have reached support rank A.]

S SUPPORT 

[The Summoner returns from the training tower, shivering.]

(y/n): Whew… that was tough. Those Brave Lyns and Love Abounds Lilinas were such a pain in the-

Xander: (y/n). I would have words with you.

(y/n): Oh, Xander! What’s up?

Xander: I thought we had come to an understanding. It seems I was mistaken.

(y/n): Huh? What do you mean?

Xander: Take today, for instance. You assigned me to a search and destroy team but held me back, letting my teammates do most of the work. In fact, every time I tried to go to the frontline, you stopped me and sent someone else instead. I know that trust has to be earned, but I thought we were already…

(y/n): Wait-

Xander: I thought you knew that my loyalty now lies with Askr, but it seems I was wrong.

(y/n): XANDER, THAT’S NOT IT!

Xander: What?

(y/n): I, umm, shouldn’t have yelled. I-I’m sorry, but you’re wrong! I totally trust you! It’s just that I can’t fight, but I still wanna protect you and this is the only way I know how.

[The Summoner lowers their head.]

(y/n): I know as your superior I shouldn’t let my personal feelings control my actions, but I hate it when you get hurt! I mean, I hate it when the other Heroes get hurt too, but when it’s you, I can’t help myself! I know it’s dumb of you to try and protect you in this way, but…

Xander: …I see. But that was foolish. Very foolish. I am here as a soldier and getting injured in battle is part and parcel of this chaotic life. However…

[Xander gently pats the Summoner’s shoulder.]

Xander: Seeing you so worried about me actually makes me happy. It gives me the confidence to give you this.

(y/n): Wha- This is an engagement ring! Xander!

Xander: Spending all that time with you has opened my eyes to the sort of partner I would want, the sort of person I would want to rule the Kingdom of Nohr with me. And that person is you, (y/n). Brave, compassionate and strong in the face of struggle. The one I love is you. 

[The summoner and Xander both blush.]

Xander: Perhaps it was rash of me to ask you to abandon everything you know to come with me to Nohr, but I had to try. I understand if you decide to turn me down.

(y/n): I’m honoured, and I think… I think my family would understand. You’re my best friend, Xander, and they always told me to marry the person I love best in the world. But are you sure you really want me? I’m not royalty, or even nobility.

Xander: Status and rank mean nothing to me. Your spirit and personality has shown me that you are nobler than several members of the Nohrian court that I am loath to mention. So I ask you once more, and properly this time. (y/n), will you marry me?

[The Summoner laughs and throws themselves at Xander, hugging him tightly.]

Xander: I take that as a resounding yes, then.
