Three ships I enjoy:

I haven't played DAO yet, but Cullen x Amell/Surana is really getting me! I love a good forbidden trope. On that same trope, Blackwall x Josephine in DAI. They're both being so dumb about it. I'm pushing them together (in my head) like the dog 'now kiss' meme. Before DA, my biggest ship was, and still is tbh, Julian Devorak from The Arcana with my OC. They're nearly tied with @lunastarhawk's OC, Altheia, and Julian.

First ship:

InuYasha and Kagome -- the first ship where I learned what a ship was! Shipping them for over 20 years. That was painful to write.

Currently reading: Oh, jeez. Not to out myself as incredibly boring and an absolute killjoy, but I'm in the middle of "Command and Control: Nuclear Weapons, the Damascus Accident, and the Illusion of Safety", by Eric Schlosser. It's a very interesting read about the evolution, politics, and inherent danger in nuclear doctrine.

Currently watching: At this moment I'm watching the Miami/Florida game. Recorded it since I didn't catch it live.

Last movie: Klaus, I think? Such a good movie.

the bad news is that if you romance solas you cannot get this dialogue because instead you get romance dialogue. the good news is that if you romance solas you will get to romance solas. if you just want to get the dialogue, however, either the second or third options on the dialogue wheel will get you there in a non-romance run.

Wait I did NOT realize that the inquisitor was the one who sought and found Solas' dreaming mind in the return to haven cutscene. I usually select the "that was incredible" dialogue option but when you say "that was... I don't know" (voiced: "when I asked to talk to you I didn't think we'd be doing it in the fade"), he responds with "since you went to the trouble of finding me in your sleep, it was worth doing something interesting," implying that you were asleep the whole time???

That's WILD I always thought that Solas was the one who engineered that encounter but apparently he was minding his business in the Fade when the inquisitor just rolled up and imposed skyhold on top of whatever he was doing and he was like well sure but I hate your choice of venue.

as far as colors go, deep pinkish purple moths remind me of you! moths such as:

the mint moth (Pyrausta aurata),

the common crimson and gold moth (Pyrausta purpuralis),

or the purple bordered gold moth (Idaea muricata).

however, i feel like you would be a large moth! possibly a silkmoth, such as

the promethea silk moth (Callosamia promethea)

or ceanothus silk moth (Hyalophora euryalus).

unfortunately a lot of silk moths donʻt seem to have the same pinkish purple colors smaller moths get away with. a shame.

lets talk about silk moths! the family saturniidae has about 2,300 species! some of the largest moths in the world belong to the silk moth family! with about 8 subfamilies (nine if you believe Ludiinae belongs), it has quite a lot of variety! many of the moths commonly considered as beautiful as butterflies are saturniids!

adult silk moths typically have large wings, and can often be found with bright colors and translucent eye spots. the average saturniid wingspan is between 1-6 inches (2.5-15 centimeters) but tropical species may have larger wingspans.

the saturniids are called silk moths because of their cocoons! most produce a silken cocoon, which in certain species can be harvested to make silk. adult saturniids do not have moths! they rely on the food they stored as caterpillars, and many only live for around a week.

most species of silk moths are harmless as adults, and many are harmless caterpillars as well! some eye-catching species are raised in schools or by children as educational pets, and the silk cocoons are sometimes used as a keepsake.

some of the most noteworthy silk moth genus are: the emperor moths, the luna moths, royal moths, and giant silk moths

some popular species are: Bombyx mori (domesticated silk moth, raised for silk production), the atlas moth (Attacus atlas, one of the largest moths), Actias luna (most well known luna moth), mopane worm (Gonimbrasia belina, emperor moth eaten by humans as a caterpillar), and the rosy maple moth (well known silk moth, also the smallest silk moth at 3.2 to 5 cms)

WIP Wednesday

I was tagged by @swordbisexual for this-- thank you! I've got an AU I lovingly call the "Baking AU", or the "Pastries and PTSD AU". I've been working on it off and on, and so here's a bit from the second time Annette and Cullen run into each other in the kitchens, featuring stilted tension and Annette being a bitch:

He glanced at her as he arranged bowls and ingredients on the counter, but he was far more content with silence than she was. It made her envious, a feeling she ruthlessly quashed.

The daughter of a Bann and grandchild of a Duke, jealous of a failed templar, the son of a poor Ferelden farmer?

She clamped down tighter on her thoughts, trying to banish the shades of haughty cruelty that dogged her footsteps still. Her hands tightened on her mug. Annette would not be her father; she would not be ruthless and cruel. She would not.

Annette tore her gaze up from her mug to see Commander Cullen watching her out the corner of his eyes. The silence was going to choke her, and finally, she said, “Is Ferelden always that miserable? Cold, wet, muddy, filled with undead?”

She’d resorted to discussing the weather— the indignity.

“No,” he replied, looking amused, “Sometimes it’s worse.”

Despite herself, she wrinkled her nose in distaste. The Hinterlands had been a war zone. The Storm Coast seemed to be permanently suffering light rainfall. The Fallow Mire was quite frankly proof the Maker had abandoned them all. And now she had visited Crestwood: humid, dank, undead-infested, rainy Crestwood.

What a wonderful country.

“At least Orlais awaits us,” Annette said, knowing full well he disagreed with the sentiment, at both length and volume.

Commander Cullen made a face, utterly disgusted and utterly predictable. “You can’t be serious.”

“Orlais is my home, Commander,” Annette reminded him, “I miss it.”
