Heather Emma Hook was fucking doomed, absolutely fucking doomed.

She had fallen in love, most definitely….with you. The captain of the archery team at Auradon, Head of the renaissance fair planning committee that was coming up soon.

The daughter of Robin Hook, (y/n) Loxley.

She didn’t know exactly when she fell for you, but she knew when she realized she did.

Well, she couldn’t pinpoint it, but she had a couple “oh…oh no” moments.

One was when you had picked her up like she weighed nothing after she twisted her ankle chasing Gil around. She had legit fucking squeaked as you did so, wrapping her arms around your neck. She turned red as you grinned at her, your eyes sparkling.

Another was when she walked into the dorm rooms gym, dropping her hook on the floor as she saw you doing pull-ups, your back muscles making her fucking drool.

You dropped from the bar, shaking the sweat from your head, grabbing your towel and wiping the sweat from your skin.

You turned, your smokey (e/c) eyes locking with Heather’s shocked bright Blue ones. Heather swallowed harshly as she stared at your pretty lips as they broke into a smile. “hey, comin’ to work out?”

You asked, tilting your head, furrowing your brows as Heather stuttered off some excuse and bolted out of the room. “…huh” you sighed, dropping your towel and grabbing your water bottle, squirting some in your mouth and flopping into the beach nearby.

“She fucking hates me” you muttered, rubbing your face.

Heather was an outgoing, loud, playful girl, who easily socialized with others and made it known if she didn’t like someone. But she never talked to you, in fact always making excuses to avoid you and running the other way when she saw you.

Which fucking sucked since you had a humongous crush on the daughter of Captain Hook.

Her crystal blue eyes had hypnotized you as soon as you saw them, her pretty pink lips pulling you in, her wild chin-length black hair begging for you to run your hands through it, her siren voice pulling you under the waves.

Goooood you were fucking smitten with her, and she hardly ever looked at you.

What a sad life you led eh?

You turned the corner of the library, raising your brows as you eyes made contact with the jeaned butt of Heather Hook, who was on a high up ladder picking out some books from the art section. you felt your face burn as you looked away as quickly as you could. ‘don’t look at her butt, don’t look at her butt, dontlookatherbutt, dontlookatherbutt!’ you thought, continuing to move toward the history book.

“woah-wha-woah!” you spun around, gasping as Heather lost her balance on the high ladder, falling towards the book covered ground.

You jumped over the books and held out your arms, grunting as Heather's weight slammed into you, almost losing your balance and falling into the books but thankfully you held your stance.

“Heather, are-are you okay?!” you gushed, giving her a quick look over for any injuries.

“…” she just stared at you, her dark lined bright blue eyes staring at you.

“Heather” you furrowed your brows, staring right back at her, slightly snapping at her in a firm tone “are.you.okay, that was quite a fall, and im worried about you”

“y-yes” she squeaked, her hands curling up underneath her chin….goddamin she was too cute. You wanted to put a cat ear beanie on her or something similar to that.

“good” you stepped out of the way of the books and set her down “I don’t want you getting hurt” she just continued to stare at you with wide eyes, her face slowly turning red.

You clicked your tongue awkwardly and put your hands on your hips. “look I know you hate me but-“

“HATE YOU?!” Heather yelled, jumping as the librarian from the other side of the room shushed her “-i-I” Heather stuttered, wringing her hands together, biting her lip “I don’t hate you, hell I really like you-….i didn’t want to say that?!” she squeaked, realizing what she had said, looking back up at you.

You watched as her eyes darted around the room, her hands cupping her cheeks. “you-you like me?” you tilted your head, a grin slowly growing on your face as Heather was turned to a red bumbling mess.

“i-I well um- i-…yes” her head dropped to her chest, clutching her hands to her chest. You leaned closer to her, curling your fingers under her chin and tilting her head up.

You smiled, taking pride in her little squeak. “good thing I like you too huh?”

“wh-AT?” her voice crackled, her shocked Ocean blue eyes staring into yours. “you-really??”

“really~” you purred, leaning in and kissing her cheek “I've liked you for a while now, but you always ignored me so I assumed to didn’t like me at all”

“I've just been overthinking you” Heather chuckled, brushing a stray lock of hair behind her ear, her blush still heavy on her face.

“Alright then” you snorted, giving her a soft smile and tilting your head “if you would maybe. Go on a date with me?”

Heather's jaw dropped, the full force of her blush returning and she squeaked and buried her face in her hands, a few moments later giving you a shy nod.

“yay~” you quietly cheered, picking her up and spinning her around.

“ah!” Heather softly screamed, a small smile on her face.

You placed her back on her feet, kissed her cheek, and finally exchanged phone numbers with her.

“ill see you later yeah?” you whispered, pressing your forehead to hers.

She gave a shy nod, “Yeah, see you later~” she hummed, giving a bright grin.

You grinned back and spun around, heading back out of the library.

You took a single step outside the room before you remembered you had never gotten your history book.

1. What made you decide to roleplay this muse?

In late 2016, a good friend and Roleplay partner of mine and I, who were both fans of Descendants and loved making ocs, came up with the concept of Descendants characters based on the Disney parks and obscure Disney franchises. We came up with a multitude of these characters (who went alongside our regular ocs of the more mainstream franchises) and individual stories for all of them, alongside their relationships with one another.

My first idea from this concept was to do a Haunted Mansion character, I tried to think of what would fit best and decided to go with my two favourite characters! The Beating Heart Bride and the Hatbox Ghost! With that Erika De Claire Pace was born (originally named Emma!)! Alongside various other characters, ghosts (yes, more mansion ocs were made! Including Conner Hatchaway (made by myself) and Micah Ravenswood (made by my friend) as well as some from the Tower of Terror and NMBC!), mermaids, cyborgs, monsters, pixies and various other interesting characters! (All is which I would love to introduce at some point).

I ended up growing a huge connection with Erika in particular as I was dealing with a very similar experience to her, recovering from a heavily abusive relationship (though in my case, only a friendship), recovering from an eating disorder, bullying and various other issues. Writing a character who was able to come out on top of these issues was really important for me and helped me to recover (“if I can write it, I can do it, surely!”). I wanted the chance to use this character more outside of our main Roleplay verse (and multiple AU’s), so I took the chance to make a tumblr blog for her! The rest was history!

11. What’s a thread you’d like to do in the near future?

Oh so many! I would love to do a few more threads in Auradon, or more in the Mansion of course!

But I especially would love to do more with AU’s! Especially my VK/Isle of the Lost AU, Mermaid AU, Victorian/Human AU or even the Modern/Human AU (such as what I’ve done with @theheadlessgroom )

13. Three of your favourite threads

- Videodrome with @theheadlessgroom - Oh. My. Gods. This was SO much fun! The Modern AU, Giggles as a fluffy little dog, the old man turned eldritch abomination trying to feed on Erika’s fears, Randall setting a building on fire!! I adored this thread and would love to see a follow up at some point!

- Welcome Home with @beatingheart-bride - this was just so heartwarming and was such a nice thread to work on Erika’s relationship with her mother, and definitely captured the feelings of coming home to your loved ones after a long journey or in Erika’s case, school semester.

- I also did a thread way back when this blog first began with @islesfairest where both Erika and Evie experienced their first sleepovers! It was a very short lived thread but it was nice seeing Erika actually having friends in Auradon and a positive experience, and who doesn’t love a good sleepover?!

This one has changed so much over time to a point I usually give Erika multiple and even have a playlist for her. However, one that’s always been consistent since the beginning, and which I consider her main theme song would have to be:

22. Three interesting little tidbits or facts of your muse

1. Erika is actually left handed!

2. Erika’s fashion sense is quite alternative, wearing various styles inspired by Lolita Fashion, Cult Party Kei, Vintage (She favors the 1950’s style), Victorian Inspired, Renaissance Inspired, Gothic, Mori Kei/Cottagecore and various cute or girly styles, she also wears platforms practically all of the time.

3. Erika has a 4 octave vocal range and a strong vibrato, she was lucky enough to be classically trained which allows her to hit operatic notes- though she prefers much more modern styles of singing.

yeah and that’s why i include a few outliers as “other districts” (its the best analogy i got i know they are different) like Atlantis, Agrabah, and Northern Wei, and if we look at a map probably also including wherever Frozen is, and the “far far away” lands is what i believe they are referred to. like Disney villains, and basically any movie from the disney renaissance are the districts while the rest are the capital/district 1 and 2

Art’s birthday is May First, which comes from the thought that Mordred’s birthday is May Day. In case you were wondering yes Art is Mordred. So, why waste a post to say something that is stated elsewhere on my blog? Because May first is also known as May Day which has many celebrations associated with it dating all the way back to the Romans.

Art’s birthday is fairly understated but he does get a feast the night of May First which kicks off Camelot’s May Day festival which lasts the first week of May. It is just a bunch of activities and events to represent the coming of spring. It has many events that are had at the Tournament such as Ring Race and such but it is not a tournament. It is definitely more reminiscent of a renaissance faire, rather than the medieval times dinner and tournament feel that The Tournament has.

The May Day festival is one of the few that reach all stretches of Camelot (which is England and Wales more or less in Auradon). It reaches Sherwood Forest, and London. Where the tournament is centered on Camelot Proper, the May Day festival is celebrated everywhere. The most notable thing is lamp posts have light colored ribbons and flowers tied around them in London. Its a fresh look for London for a few weeks, and its a time when you can find Art outside of Camelot proper. He loves London at the time of the May Day festival.

Headcanon: How many kingdoms/lands are a part of Auradon

Okay so this is my half thought out idea of how the United States of Auradon came to be and the current landscape of it, mostly for my story “We’ll Light the Fuse” but I guess in general as well. Sorry for any spelling issues:

The Original Kingdoms/Lands

The original kingdoms were the first kingdoms that joined together to create the United States of Auradon, similar to I guess the 13 colonies of the United States of America. (I’ll explain what would have been the Britain equivalent in a different post later. Maybe.)

“The Golden Age” films:

Tarzan --> Tarzan doesn’t necessarily participate in Auradon’s politics but the land is protected by Auradon and it’s a crime to try to hunt any of his gorilla family.

So as mentioned before, the above movies and their settings all happened before Auradon was formed and their locations can, in some way be thought of as the original kingdoms that joined together and voted for the Isle (obviously not unanimously but that’s a post for another time).

The Kingdoms/Lands That Eventually Joined Auradon 

Now, these are the kingdoms/lands who weren’t sure about whether they wanted to join Auradon. They initially weren’t excited to give one person, “The High King”, power over their lands. For whatever reason though, they eventually joined Auradon soon after the Isle’s creation.

“The Second Dark Age”/ “Post-Renaissance Era” films:

The Emperor’s New Groove --> Originally, Kuzco didn’t want to join Auradon but sometime during the events of “The Emperor’s New School” the economy of his kingdom plummeted due to crop failure and the slight unstableness that was left after Yzma was defeated. (She may have been a villain but she was honestly the only thing keeping the empire somewhat stable during Kuzco’s pre-llama days). The advisors who were watching over the kingdom while their Emperor was completing his education panicked and took the offer of help that Auradon offered in exchange for them joining the United States of Auradon and sending Yzma to the Isle. Kuzco and Kronk did try to fight to keep Yzma from being sent to the Isle (yeah, she did try to kill Kuzco and take his empire away from him but she was honestly the only family he remembered having before meeting Pacha, so that’s gotta count for something right?) but in the end, since Kuzco had still yet to marry and have an heir in case of a worst case scenario (Yzma trying to get revenge on him again) his group of advisors didn’t listen and signed the papers to ship Yzma off to the Isle of the Lost. 

Lilo and Stitch --> At first, this little island nation wasn’t even on Auradon’s map in terms of political power. However, after the arrival of Experiment 626 aka Stitch, and the realization that there are others out there in the universe, Auradon pulled the land of Hawaii in on the agreement that Stitch or his creator would not be forced to go to the Isle of the Lost (remember, Stitch hates water and the Isle only gets junk so it would have to take a few years at least before he would have been able to break out) if they joined Auradon as representatives of Auradon (and kind of the entire world) as their ambassador for the Galatic Council. If Stitch failed to mention that he’s not on the best of terms with the council and the only reason why the Council hasn’t just destroyed the Earth is because of mosquitoes, well, that’s Auradon’s fault for not being smart enough to know. Stitch is just glad to be able to stay with Lilo (who is the same age in the film) and their small family.

Meet the Robinsons --> In terms of this movie’s timeline, it’s been a several years after the movie and Lewis’s company is small but quickly growing, especially with King Adam and Fairy Godmother trying to retire magic.

“The Second Disney Renaissance”/ “The Revival Era” films:

Princess and the Frog --> The city-state of New Orleans joined Auradon a year or two after the USA was first formed. 

Tangled --> The King and Queen of Corona were at first hesitant to join Auradon when initially offered. They had lost so much with the disappearance of their daughter. However, after Rapunzel was returned to them by the infamous Flynn Rider aka Eugene, the King and Queen decided they needed to take the necessary precautions to make sure something like that never happened to anyone in their kingdom again. Rapunzel though didn’t like the idea of resurrecting dead villains and putting them on an Isle to serve as punishment. Though Mother Gothel was emotionally abusive and had kidnapped her and lied to her for all of her life, she was still her mother. There were still numerous times that she could remember Gothel either being a very good actor or somewhat genuinely caring for her. Her parents had already decided however and the agreements were made. A few years later, when the census was taken, and Rapunzel saw the new name Ginny Gothel she cried because she had essentially done what Gothel had did to this little child: take away the childhood she should have had. When Ben proposed to give the children of the Isle a chance, Queen Rapunzel was the first one to sign and support the new boy king.

Big Hero 6 --> It was very recently, like at some point during the beginning of Ben’s teenage years that San Fransokyo joined Auradon (though the events of the film happened years before that, when Ben was like 5 or 6) and only under the condition that they could choose what to do with their “villains”. 

The Kingdoms/Lands That Are Allies But Are Not A Part of Auradon

These kingdoms/lands of these films were not about having King Adam (the Beast) ruling over them but also didn’t want to start a fight with an ever growing super-kingdom:

Atlantis: The Lost Empire --> We’re actually keeping the timeline with Atlantis so at this point it’s been over a hundred years since the events of this movie. Though Atlantis is no longer just a myth and has allied with Auradon, Queen Kida and her husband are not idiots and don’t trust someone with a temper like King Adam to have full control and say over the crystals of Atlantis. Plus, Kida is a BAMF queen and she’s not going to let some former beast rule over her.

Treasure Planet --> Goes along with the Stitch being part of the Galatic Council bit. Someone from the movie, maybe Jim, is also part of that Council. Overall, the council doesn’t really do much on earth though every now and again, they’re interested in what the earthlings called “magic” (they chuckle because they understand the complex theories behind “magic” that takes it from hocus pocus to actual science) and their desire to repress something that is so natural. 

Brother Bear --> Mostly keeps to themselves though will come out in full swing if Auradon gets lazy about protecting the environment.

Frozen --> Same as with Atlantis. Queen Elsa doesn’t have time for King Adam (though she and Queen Belle always meet up for brunch or something whenever they’re in one or the other’s lands) and his pettiness and she’s a BAMF queen who doesn’t need a king and will not hesitate to freeze anyone who tries to attack her kingdom. 

Brave --> Haven’t figured out exactly where this fits but just going to put them under haven’t joined for now.

Something exciting is coming! By now our members will be familiar with in character events; from our opening party, hosted by Princess Aurora, to Belle’s upcoming charity ball, we’ve hosted plenty already. Some of you have even had your characters host events themselves! Here at Ascendants, we’re excited to reveal to you our next big thing: out of character events. Have you ever thought about what the world of Auradon would look like set in Beauty and the Beast’s renaissance, or what your muse’s life would look like in a few years’ time? In an out of character event, you get a certain time period to explore this in whatever way you want. Better yet, our members get to pick which one happens first! 

Once an event is chosen and a date is placed, the mods will create brand new channels in the group’s discord server which will be dedicated to the event. A week will be dedicated before the event for plotting; the time period might be established, as well as laws of the world, fashion, and character relationships and dynamics. You’re interested, right? Well, maybe it’s time to read a little bit more about your options!

OPTION ONE: A Journey Through Time

Welcome to eighteenth century Auradon, a time of political change and turmoil. King Benjamin’s decision to lift the magical barrier which sealed the Isle off from the rest of the world was met with far more displeasure than in our modern Auradon, and the villains of the Isle are pariahs; a few months into their freedom, the villains and their children have been outcast from society as if they’re no more than vermin. Lady Mal, the infamous lover of King Benjamin, is facing more and more criticism as the days pass. There are even calls for her removal. Will King Benjamin be the reason for the end of Auradon’s de Bourbon rule? If so, will the current members of the royal family make it out alive? Your muse’s actions in this new Auradon, whether good, rebellious or criminal, weigh far heavier than they do in the modern world.

OPTION TWO: Fate Is Twisted

Welcome to a reversed Auradon, inspired by the Starkid musical Twisted. Have you ever wondered what warped tales the residents of the Isle tell their children about the true events of their origin? What if those tales weren’t warped, but were indeed true? The beast really was the beast, using evil magic to force Belle to fall for him; Gaston really did want to help, forming a mob to kill the beast to save his one true love.  Jafar was a good man who only wanted to help his kingdom, but he was forced into near madness when a thief called Aladdin forced his plans to fail. Ursula Triton was forced from her throne by her power hungry brother, Tidas, and only wanted her rightful throne back from a usurper. Captain Hook only wanted to teach the meddlesome Peter Pan responsibility; he never knew his father, after all. Twenty years ago, these famous figures banded together to rise up against their oppressors. They formed a democracy which culminated in the real evildoers being sent away to a place off the coast of Auradon called the Isle. But when the son of Belle and the beast, Ben, was picked as one of four TVK’s ( true villain kids ) who would come from the Isle and attend Auradon Prep, the love between Crown Princess Mal and himself blossomed swiftly. Now, the barrier is dropped and the true villains are out in the streets once more. Can they mend the rift between their cultures, or are they doomed to be rivals for all eternity?

+ Reasoning for my choices

While Ben's track suit in the canon movie waa fine, I felt like he should wear an outfit where the gold outweighs the amount of blue. Plus if he's going to be traveling outside Auradon, it's better for him to blend in. For the older looking suit, I would say that's something h8e wears within Auradon, showing his authority as future king. I tried to pick a jacket reminiscent of the suit the Beast wore during the iconic ballroom scene, but at the same time not too dated. I was thinking combining the two for a blend of old and new.

Evie

Given the quasi medieval/renaissance style of the original Snow White, Evie's outfits would be something akin to that. Being the fashionista of the group she would create the costume herself. Sleek for easy movement but still keeping with the medieval aesthetic.

Carlos

By far Carlos would look the most modern, given the setting of his movie. He would wear very sleek yet simple attire. I was thinking his outfits be all white with very few red and black designs, and spots as well, to keep him from looking too tacky. Yet the quirky designs would mesh with his avant garde style of thinking. With multiple pockets he can reach for modern gadgets (cellphones, tablets, passports if needed).

Jay's outfit obviously the most athletic. He needs a LOT of room to move. Should missions take him to the outskirts of Agrabah he would need something to block out the sandy winds and sunlight. Like Ben, his style would be a almost perfect blend of old and new, baggy yet tight pants for parkour and running. A mask & hoodie to cover his identity. With this look Jay would look like a typical rougish teenager, but it's clear he's hiding something (like his pet snake or Evie's knockout potion for quick getaways).

For Audrey, she would go back to pastel pink, a sign of her true self returning. However the outfit is far more simple than usual especially with the addition of the cloak. Look at the model: this signifies the princess's regret. I'd imagine her going with the heroes to stopping a new threat (again to make up for previous actions) so she would be walking around in practical boots instead of heels and flats. While it might not look like something to go on adventures, I would say this would be the most practical outfit Audrey could pull out of her wardrobe (given she's not used to missions quite yet).

I still have ideas for the characters D3 outfits, plus my OCs, but those are for another time. :)

If I had picked out the mission outfits for Descendants 3 I would havee picked something that would fit each character's theme instead of making them Discount Power Rangers 🤪

Ben:

The left would be blue and gold; right is a casual alternative

Evie:

Imagine the bottom two in her color scheme and with apple shaped jewels.

Carlos:

White, black and spotted all over!

Jay:

I would combine the two to honor the traditional and modern-day styles.

Hi! I love your fics, they're always amazingly done! I'm sorry to ask, because I know real life can be a pain in the rear for us all, but is there a time frame for a possible update for Auradon's Renaissance? Like I said, I'm really sorry to ask and please don't think this is an update demand but I saw on a recent post that Auradon's Renaissance was going to be updated this month and well, we have two days left of the month lol.

Unfortunately I got very sick last week. I'm still too ill to get to my PC and access everything.

Long story short, summarizing with some past posts. I moved, probably will again next year because the neighbors kinda suck, work structure changed so I have been very stressed and busy that all I want to do once home is sleep, health ain't great and ditto that for family...let's not even look at the state of the USA politics. ANYWAYS.

Hiiii guys! To answer in bulk some questions I've gotten:

I'll be posting a chapter of Auradon's Renaissance later this month. No, it has not been abandoned.

Doodles will continue/be finished soon. I've finally found all the pieces I needed for my desktop tablet from storage, and we're all set up again! Please note that I don't plan to do anymore doodle requests for a while, or in much more limited quantities.

Commissions! I have finally settled on prices! I just never posted because with the move, I wouldn't be able to do the requests in a timely manner.

Payment will be via Ko-Fi for the most part as it allows me (and you!) to do custom-like payments if the numbers are different (adding characters, detailed background, etc.). It also let's me do discount codes!

The prices posted will have the limited time discount I promised! A whole 50% off! There will also be limited slots per category, so DM quick to get a spot. The discount code will be posted with the price image, so keep an eye out for that. It'll be up for just one month.

Hiatus update!

Partially over, whoo!

I'm mainly doing art again, as seen by those who got doodle requests. I'm not fully open though as commissions are still backlogged (hopefully open again mid March), and I'm still fighting a flu. Hence the now taking a break for the rest of the weekend probably apart from partially done doodles that I started before ipad died.

Game plan once flu is cleared is to move back to writing. I have a way bigger backlog for that, so unfortunately y'all will still have to wait for updates on that.

Info updates:

Auradon's Renaissance - three chapters left for part 1. Can at least guarantee to be posted before June 2024.

Styx Sworn - Outline still pending.

Protector of the Valley - outline almost finished, should start posting the completed 3 chapters by July 2024!

I'm writing a book! Like, a real one! We all got influenced by Percy Jackson, I know, I know, but being obsessed with world mythology for so long, I'd been working on an outline for about five years already...plenty of research left but this project is my main baby and I hope it goes well!
