20% brighter According to Apple, the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models announced tonight feature 20% brighter displays for displaying regular (non-HDR) content. Apple laptop specifications show that all of the latest 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models deliver peak brightness of up to 600 cd/m2 for SDR content, up 20% from the maximum 500 nits on previous models. For HDR content, all models can reach a maximum brightness of up to 1600 cd/m2, which remains unchanged. “The Liquid Retina XDR display is the world's best laptop display, with exceptional 1000 nits continuous brightness and 1600 nits peak brightness for HDR content, impressive contrast ratios, vibrant colors and outstanding viewing angles,” Apple said. “SDR content is now displayed at up to 600 nits of brightness, which is 20% brighter than before.” New MacBook Pros have brighter displays [caption id="attachment_78734" align="aligncenter" width="780"] New MacBook Pros[/caption] The new MacBook Pro models are available to order starting today and will begin shipping to customers and go on sale on Tuesday, November 7th.
