Я поняла одну весьма занимательную вещь. Причём поняла ее только сейчас, хотя читаю уже довольно давно. Я сама честно-честно не ожидала и удивилась.

Погружение в книгу, в ее текст меня расслабляет (как бы парадоксально это ни звучало, ведь я тот ещё любитель пощекотать себе нервишки книгой).

В тот день я дочитывала «Тихий Дон», готовила его анализ, учила новые термины, короче говоря, нагружала свой мозг так сильно, как только могла. А вечером решила открыть уже завалявшуюся книгу Колин Гувер и Таррин Фишер «Никогда Никогда». Нырнула с головой и вынырнула на 198 странице. Сказать, что я приятно и интересно провела время, значит не сказать ничего. Мой мозг отдыхал, читая не для разбора над подпункты. Я была счастлива. И почувствовала себя свежей и хорошо отдохнувшей.

Книги помогают мне. Помогают скрасить очень серый день, помогают отдохнуть, прийти в себя, найти мотивацию, решить проблему. И, возможно, заполняют некую пустоту внутри.

Я поняла, что так люблю книги и чтение. И это определенно поможет мне

Authors Unlimited 2018

One of my favorite book events is tomorrow! Authors Unlimited in Patchogue, NY, on Sat April 28, 10am-3pm. It's 8 authors, 1 panel with all of us, then breakout sessions. Loved it the last time I was there, and I'm really excited to go back!

It hadn’t rained in Los Angeles for months. It had been so long since Lizzie had heard the sound of rain pelting the ground in the canyon, disturbing the water in her pool that at first she couldn’t register what was happening, the noise unsettling and strange as she tried to remember what it reminded her of. It was so new, so unexpected she knew it probably would have woken her from a sound sleep - which is where she should have been, this side of 2 AM, but she wasn’t. Sleep hadn’t come easily the last few months, her thoughts always finding a new way to spin out of control, to fixate, to veer off wildly, but always on one central theme: her. No matter what she did, she couldn’t stop thinking about Dianna.

Rising from her bed, she walked to the window, already cracked to let in any breeze that might come in on this humid July night, finally registering the sound as she stared blankly out into the night. It was raining, it was way past midnight, and already the air felt cooler, like it was being washed clean by the downpour. Maybe the drought was finally ending, maybe the dire warnings about what would happen if they went more weeks without rain would finally end, but Lizzie couldn’t get her mind to focus on those things. No, she was thinking about Dianna, the last time she had seen her after she’d broken things off, dinner at a mutual friends and the stab of jealousy that ripped through her as she watched Dianna’s new girlfriend rub her hand over her back. She knew she’d been the one to end it, too scared of what she felt, of facing what it meant, of giving someone else that kind of power over her to stop herself from running, but in that moment Lizzie had realized with a sickening force just how in love she was with her friend, that the thought of someone else touching her, being with her, loving her made her physically ill. It was unthinkable, untenable. Worst of all, it was wrong.

She didn’t know how she’d gotten to her car, or really been aware of what she was doing until she was already pulling into Dianna’s driveway. By now the rain was falling in sheets so thick that it felt solid, soaking, like it was being poured from giant buckets. She was vaguely aware of what she must look like, soaked through in a pair of pajama shorts and an old tank top, her long hair hanging in wet ropes down her back as she ran to the front door, the meager shelter from the overhang not enough to shield her from the elements. There, before she could think about it too much, she pounded on the door and prayed that Dianna was home, that she’d answer, and good god - that she was alone. @dianna--elise

Не знаю, на самом деле с чего начать, как начать и как выстраивать конструкции. И это очень странная фигня, скажу я вам.

Начну, наверное, с того, что эта неделя прошла чертовски стремительно. Серьезно, время пролетело так незаметно, что я невольно задавалась вопросом о том, а не приснилось ли мне все. Почему жизнь становится с каждым годом все стремительнее, объясните мне, пожалуйста (на самом деле я примерно представляю, по каким причинам так бывает, но who cares)?

Ещё эта неделя была чертовски интересной и многогранной. Я начала смотреть на некоторые аспекты совершенно другими, новыми глазами. Многое было пережито. И дело тут вот в чем.

У меня в течение недели кое-кто гостил. И я безумно рада, что этот человечек жил у меня. Это был мой первый опыт в продолжительной ночевке. И он был весьма хорошим.

На многие темы мы поговорили, два stand-up’а Поперечного посмотрели, фотосессию себе устроили, сериал посмотрели (подсаживать на неизвестные сериалы других - мое новое хобби), покачались на качелях, вспомнили кое-что и даже в Третьяковскую галерею сгоняли. �� общем и целом, было весело.

Этот человек - безумно интересный. С ней хочется говорить и говорить, изучать и изучать. У меня фигово выходит хвалить людей, поэтому я даже не знаю, что написать ещё. Давай просто представим, что здесь написано что-то по-настоящему приятное и тёплое для этого человека.

Я благодарна ей за это время. Благодарна за новый опыт, потому что ищу и нахожу его везде. Я рада, что мы наконец встретились и провели вместе какое-то количество времени. Спасибо ей. За все
