i read to kill a mockingbird for english class and it was very good so of course the drawing bug bit me. the scene where atticus sat against tom robinson's cell door was really clear and cinematic in my brain so here it is:

i just realised i forgot to add the "maycomb county jail" sign but whatever i think it looks fine

Drawgust 7 - Atticus Finch reads Go Set A Watchman by me!

For today's Drawgust drawing, I decided to recreate one of my old Sketchbook of Fun drawings, as well as do a piece in black & white. This is fan art of To Kill A Mockingbird, both the original book by Harper Lee & the movie starring Gregory Peck. It's a humorous scenario where Atticus Finch is reading Harper Lee's follow-up book Go Set A Watchman. I haven't read that book, but from what I understand, fans & literary critics did not like how Harper Lee essentially ruined the character of Atticus Finch. Thus, I'm having the original Atticus Finch read that book, & he is not amused by what Ms. Lee did to him. Scout is nearby of course, & she asks if Atticus is going to sue Harper Lee for her slander. Enjoy!
