i have no idea if the alicent-rhaenyra reunion in episode 3 is actually happening. for many reasons, i try not to pay attention to leaks if i can help it, false or not.

but apparently its meant to take place in the sept and honestly, out of all the places to do it, the sept is really the only and best place for it.

on one hand, you could potentially have great call-backs to their younger selves in season 1 and demonstrate how much has changed this then.

and two more important- the only thing that would prevent realistically (barely) these women from tearing each other apart is knowing the sanctity of the place they're in. i don't think alicent would want to defile her place of worship with murder, even if its a murder she thinks is justified. (according to some of these leaks she partially blames rhaenyra for blood and cheese, which GOOD.) the same thing applies to rhaenyra. she does understand the importance of the faith to the seven kingdoms that she wants to rule, which is why she makes jacaerys and lucerys swear oaths under the seven that they will not engage in any fighting when she sends them off.

like we have to remember what a huge deal it was when joffrey decided to go script and behead ned stark at the sept of baelor. even though ned had just "confessed" to treason, the faith (and everybody who wasn't joffrey and co) was HORRIFIED by what joffrey had just done at such a holy place.
