I could not put this book down. We follow Ruth, the daughter of a mafia boss, as she traverses the world of gangsters as a female. She faces sexism and antagonism at every turn and she has to work ten times as hard to be taken seriously only to have those around her put her down, steal her work, and tell her to get married and let the men do their job. Her father calls her Ruth-less and has great pride in her and what she does. After a series of nasty attacks Ruth confronts the vampires that run the other half of the city. As they get to know each other she comes to see them as allies, if not more. This book is a setup to a bigger series that will end up being quite the scorcher. Hot sexy vampires, gangsters, werewolves, and fae all combine into a rollercoaster of a ride. We follow Lazarus and Kat this time. It coincides with Finley’s tale so there is some major crossover. The lives of Laz and Kat are so different from one another. Kat has led a life of pain, torture, and abuse whereas Lazarus, though having a dark past was close with his family. As secrets are uncovered and enemies unmasked the couple grow closer and learn to trust one another. This is a fast paced page turner that keeps you guessing. Heartbreaking at times but worth all the pain in the end. I can’t wait to see what the sons of the mafia bosses get up to and how they’ll change things. Dear lord I love this series so much. It just keeps getting darker and darker. The pack has been split and the race is on to reclaim their lands, reunite, and discover who their enemies are. I could talk all day about this series but I’m just going to say as little as possible and suggest you read it for yourself. It’s dark and gritty, has lots of intense sex scenes, and leaves you begging for more. That ending!! I’m just freaking right out!! I NEED the next book. Right now. I couldn’t put this one down and finished it in one sitting. I had to decompress after and give myself a few days to process what happened before I could write my review. A great ending to the series. We are introduced to the third and final sister, Melione, and her Hexers. This book is a quick read that wraps up all the loose ends and provides the ending we’ve all been waiting for. There was tons of action, excitement, and sex. The only thing that I would have liked is to know more of Melione’s back story and what happened between her and her king before she finds her sisters. Wow!!! This series just keeps getting better and better. We pick up right after the end of the first book and are following Ruth and her vampires again as she struggles to heal and regain herself after her attack. Her bodyguard Russel is also struggling to accept his new nature. We see the strengthening of the relationship Ruth has with her men and in the background we start to see all the little threads that tie them together tightening. The end of the book is a massive cliffhanger that made me want to chuck the book across the room. I swear to god Atlas Rose is the queen of cliffhangers. I am dying to find out what happens next. Holy hells this book was crazy!!! It picks up right where the last one left off. We are following Rythe and her Hexers as they race to escape Kamoril and the destruction raining down on the city. Trapped between a rock and a hard place Rythe makes a decision that changes things. As their secrets come out they learn that they can trust no one but themselves. In an explosion of power Rythe once again saves her hexers and in a race against time they struggle to find the key that will unlock her powers. More steamy scenes and intense battles are to be had and the ending of this book left me screaming for more. Ahhhhh!!!!! I need to know what happens!! With the viper’s poison causing Ever’s power to grow she must learn to harness the darkness now coursing through her veins and reconcile her anger, hate, and sense of injustice with her love for her Hexer’s and her need to find her sisters and save those abused by the kings in power. This was a great way to end Ever’s part and transition over to her sister Rythe, in Kamoril’s power. I’m really excited to see what happens to Rythe and her Hexers and I can’t wait to meet the third sister and see the three of them come together. This story just keeps getting better and better! Not as much of the hot steamy scenes in this one. Instead we’re given more information and a bigger story arc. Ever discovers she has two sisters that are being held by the other two kings and she wants to find a way to see them. She also is starting to figure out what it is that the king wants from her and the possible reasons why. We are introduced to new characters, my favourite being the vampire queen that haunts the borders of two of the three kingdoms. This is a strong story with strong characters and a good story line. Amazing!! I was sucked right in immediately and the pace didn’t let up the whole time. We start off with the black viper giving birth to three daughters. This book follows Ever, the third daughter, as she runs from three hexers who hunt her. They’re very reminiscent of the Witcher as are their powers. We see Ever come into her powers and discover for herself things that have been hidden from her her entire life. Once the hexers catch up with her it goes from scorching to incendiary and man that chemistry is off the charts!! The story does end on a cliffhanger but the second book is out now and the third not far behind so you can binge read the series. I loved Ever and watching her grow and develop. Her true nature shines through her actions. I can’t wait to see how she grows from here. I’m so in love with the Hexers. They’re so strong, persistent, intelligent, and big softies under their hard exteriors. I enjoy how the hexers and Ever interact and can’t wait to see how things go from here. Man that was one panty melter of a book!!
