“‘m sorry,” Charles says.

Edwin stares at him. “What on earth are you apologizing for?”

“I’m — it’s me, mate. I’m a right fucking mess.” Charles laughs, but there’s no life to it. “You deserve to love someone like you. Someone good. And instead you’re stuck loving me. Can’t be easy, can it?”

Edwin is quiet for a long, long moment. Then, he carefully takes Charles’s hand in his own.

“There is nothing easier,” Edwin says softly. Like it’s a fact, something indisputable, and in that moment Charles feels something click into place. It’s something warm and wonderful and maybe — hopefully — worthy of Edwin, who hasn’t let go of his hand.

“There is nothing easier,” Edwin says again. “It’s like breathing used to be.”

A. I am terrified to think of that many people

Charles and Edwin’s first Christmas 🎄

Idk if we ever got a confirmed day of death for Charles, I think he died in late February 1989. His and Edwin’s first Christmas was that following December.

Charles didn’t really like Christmas when he was alive and grew to dread it each year — it just meant more time with his dad, who was worse and worse to him each year

Edwin, on the other hand, LOVED Christmas, and he was absolutely ecstatic to discover it was still celebrated

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen you this excited, mate.” “Of course I’m excited, Charles, I haven’t had a Christmas in over half a century”

Charles decides to try and enjoy Christmas again for Edwin

Their “office” isn’t quite an office then, more just an abandoned shed, but Edwin decorates it floor-to-ceiling. He will continue to do this in every location they end up in, and when Charles learned how to use his backpack he made a Christmas decoration section

They both try to drink hot cocoa and fail miserably

They pick up a dead branch and put ornaments and a star on it. Charles calls it a “ghost tree” because it’s dead. Edwin rolls his eyes.

Edwin gifts Charles a record player he’d found at a secondhand store and Charles loses his shit he’s so excited over it

Charles had made Edwin a card with a little doodle of the two of them on the front and a note inside telling Edwin he’s so happy they’re friends and that he let him stay and that he’s the best friend Charles has ever had, and he looks at it and feels ashamed and awkward because the drawing’s not very good and Edwin got him a freaking record player, how could his gift ever compare —

But then Edwin sees the card and his heart just melts and he smiles so wide at Charles and Charles feels something start to mend inside him from when he was a kid

“You are the best friend I’ve ever had, too”

Edwin keeps that card in his notebook for the next thirty-five years and it’s still there now

I have to admit, I fucking LOVE where NYTF has come to at this point. It's reached its zenith and the storytelling is perfect to tell this story. the rise, reign, and retreat of the villain. piers' personality evolution. the foreshadowing. the references back to the other books. i am quaking.

Guys I’m still thinking about that reunion livestream it made me so emotional I miss Andi Mack so so much

Apart from all of the confirmed theories (Kippen siblings? Tyrus wedding?? Bisexual Bex??? Lesbian Amber???? AMBI?????), getting to hear from Terri Minski herself about all of the shit she had to go through and how much she had to fight for the queer rep we got genuinely made me cry. The fact that they WERENT SUPPOSED TO GO THROUGH WITH TYRUS. “We already gave you one gay character, we’re not giving you two.” AND THEY DID IT ANYWAY. Also all of the audition stories were so wholesome, I can’t believe they wrote Amber’s part especially for Emily!

It’s so corny but I think my favorite moment was everyone singing Tomorrow Starts Today. It was so laggy and so out of tune and I love it with all of my heart. I felt like I was thirteen again. Thank you to everyone who worked to put the livestream together and raising over $20K for the families in LA, it was truly amazing and it meant so so much to me. I hope my donation helped even if it wasn’t much. So much love for everyone :)
