🔮 “a mage of the circle”

I’m trying to make a line-up of clothes my warden would have worn through the game/Fifth Blight. Finished his Circle robes first, and maybe I will have enough energy to do the rest later. Image description:

we can't go back. life takes us where it wants.

   "wasn't it darkspawn that got us here?"

   theo's laughing without sound, just his posture, his tone, and the way he lounges there in his chair, grinning. it's true. he tries to think of something softer to say. something noncommittal. it wasn't all bad, he almost tries, but then he thinks of carver, and mother, and the sad look on bethany's face when she'd said goodbye before he left for the deep roads, the look of hopeless self-acceptance that he'd mistaken for the ordinary fear that comes with love—and the words die before they hit his tongue, like all their little throats have just been cut. they've been on the road a long while, he and bethany. he knows she's rougher, now. harder, and braver, with some silver in her hair. whether it's the road, or the war, or the ghost of the circle and what happened there hanging around her neck, theo doesn't know. all he knows is that what the warden has just said is true.

   they're never going back there. never.

   so, yeah.. it was mostly bad. just like ending the blight was probably mostly bad—not to mention the family castle half-burning to the ground bit that came before. the amell estate had half-burned to the ground, too.. but hawke has never missed it because it was never really his. this will be bad, too. but it isn't their problem this time. not strictly speaking.

   athelstan has the face of a man who's on the verge of making it his problem, though. theo concedes, going a little grim around the mouth. athelstan has a responsibility here—but that's what you get, for letting people make you head of something. "but you're right. we're here."

   he uncorks a bottle of the inquisition's wine off the crate between them with a bright and satisfying pop. he fills the warden's cup first, before his own, and doesn't bother to recork the bottle. "doesn't mean we have to stay, though."

   hawke doesn't mean it to be, but it's almost like a dare.

Athelstan holds his hands up in a gesture of peace. “Don’t let me hold you up. Just passing through.” He says calmly, then squints his eyes. “Has Floki asked you to go raiding with him yet? I know Ragnar is convincing his wife to let Bjorn go. You’re both about of age.” He says.

“I won’t go until Amel is old enough.” I tell him and look to the sea where Ragnar is watching the waves from the port. “But if Floki insists, then I may go with him. He has done so much for me and I do not want to disappoint him.”

I tried redesigning Origins’ Circle robes to something more, I guess, different? I don’t really like the in-game look and I enjoy thinking about different tweaks to clothing across different Circles.

Recently started playing Dragon Age: Origins again and decided to redesign my warden.

At the other end of the hall, you see Floki arguing loudly with another man. “Athelstan will be the death of you! He fills your head with false teachings! Why are you even listening to him?” Floki pauses, noticing us in the hallway. Still sleeping, I nuzzle my face into your chest, mumbling softly. “Boy, come here.” Floki gestures you closer. “This is the man I follow, Ragnar. And one of my good friends.” He tells you sternly. Ragnar’s eyes glance over you curiously.

I nod and step a bit closer to Loki. “Hello, Ragnar.” I say softly and hug you tighter. “My name is Lucifer, and this is my sister Amel.” I introduce myself and you to him
