Summary: Chris is away for work and on FaceTime Filipina!reader sings a Filipino song while cooking

Its been a few weeks since Chris left for taping, the first few days were hard knowing you didn't like to be alone in bed.

You've been getting used to FaceTiming Chris in his free time.

That was what you were doing right now, "Oh my god, I wanna cook ravioli" You spontaneously said, "mhm that sounds good, I miss your pasta dishes" Chris smiles.

"Relax, I'm just gonna cook freezer-kind ravioli and add a cup of tomato sauce on it,honey" You smiled back at him, "Still, I miss your cookin' and you" He spoke.

"The cooking more than me, ouch" You readied the ravioli and boiled some water, "yeah, the food mo' than you" he teased, "Shush" you told him.

Chris was scrolling on twitter (still on ft with u) "Umuwi kana, baby..." (Come Home Already, Baby) You sang, "Di ako sanay na wala ka" (I'm not used to you not being here) still singing as you threw in the ravioli in the water.

"What're you singin' there, babe?" Chris asked curiously after hearing the word 'baby', "A Filipino song called Hanggang Kailan" You told him, "Its about missing someone dearly" you said whilst mixing the pot.

"Teach me" he said, "no" you replied, "why?" Chris whined, "I wanna learn it so I can sing to you" You smiled at his remark.

"Alright so" "Hanggang kailan ako maghihintay" you said emphasizing each syllable, "Hang-gan kailan ak-o mag hihintay" he sang it.

"Hanggang Kailan ako maghihintay na makasama ka muli sa buhay ko'ng puno ng paghihirap" Chris sings while you were eating, you nodded to the tone.

"Na tanging ikaw lang ang pumapawi sa mga luha at naglalagay ng ngiti sa mga labi" he continue to sang, "did not butcher it at all, that was amazing hun!" you clapped, "I wish I could just kiss you right now" you said.

You heard a knock at the door, "wait a minute sweetie" you go and open the door and see Chris holding his bag, "Oh my god!" you catapulted into him, "I missed you so much" Chris kissed the top of your head.

"But I thought-" He cut you off, "Yeah, I pretended I was on a walk but I was actually at the airport, got a taxi and walked from ma's to here while you were cooking then I was here, outside singing like a crazy dude" Chris chuckled, "I love you" You kissed him.

"I love you more" he mumbled in the kiss.

you lean to his touch, face resting against his warm palms. you smiled up at him as he did the same, “i love you” you said to him. armin cherishes moments like this, you always look the happiest when you’re with him. it’s not even his ego speaking, you genuinely just love him as a whole.

he loves that about you, he has never felt this way towards anyone, he’s always been afraid; afraid that maybe he will be showing too much affection, afraid of being called needy and worse of all afraid of eventually pushing people away because of those. he’s come to the point where he is comfortably living behind the shadows of his friends, however, you’re different.

you’ve come to notice him more than the others, he’s got used to being the last option for everyone. but you came and changed that. you’ve always put him first more than anyone, anything. his cheeks heat up at his thoughts, you have always been different from others.

the odd one out if you put in other words, but it’s not just you.. it’s both of you as a couple and he likes that. a soft smile starts appearing on his lips, hand still holding your face. “armin? sweetie? helloooo?” you wave a hand in front of his eyes.

he looked back at you, his brows rising up followed by a hum. “ah, sorry” he softly replied, you pouted, crossing your arms, his hand falling down from your face. “you’ve been awfully distracted for the past few days” his smile ever so slightly falters remembering why he went and had this day with you, “something wrong, baby?” you asked, concerned for his well being.

“were they overworking you again? i can always ask erwin-” he instantly shook his head, you’ve always become protective whenever it comes to his work. “no, it’s not that”

he took your hand in his, his thumb caressing the back of it, his eyes staring back at yours. you hummed, heart slightly picking up its pace. you suddenly have a bad feeling about this, uneasiness surfacing inside you.

“darling, i got promoted” your eyes widen in shock, not believing your own guts. you’re supposed to be overjoyed hearing this, your husband got promoted for god’s sake but anxiety is all you can feel. you forced a smile on your face, not wanting to ruin the mood.

“that’s great!” you shake both your hands in joy, you’re happy with his news but why are your emotions not cooperating? your guts still uneasy, “it’s overseas” his voice dejected, shoulders slouched. “but you still got a promotion! I’m happy for you baby!” he looks up to you, eyes glassy from the tears welling up, “really?” you nod smile still present on your face, “really”

“to armin!” jean’s slurred words echoed in the bar holding his cup of beer up in the air, the group rented the whole place for armin’s farewell party. which armin deeply disagreed with them doing, but once the group agreed on one thing there’s really no stopping.

the rest of the group repeated his words, cheering for armin who’s sitting beside you. your smile got wider, squeezing his hand, you leaned in and whispered “everything’s gonna be alright” your words reassuring him, his body relaxing almost instantly. he gave your hand a squeeze looking at you and mumbling a quick “thank you”

you stirred in your sleep, turning around and stretching your arm towards the other side expecting a warm body to snuggle with. you pat around the bed, brows furrowed in confusion.

you opened your eyes, sitting up straight looking at the empty space next to you. you groan reaching for your phone at the bedside table quickly tapping on his contact. “hello?” his voice laced with concern, you lay back relaxing from his soft voice on the other end.

translation: 'it’s hard to be alone

and every night, i miss you'

“what are you doing up? it’s the middle of the night there!” he lightly scolded you, your eyes closing picturing his cute angry face. “i miss you” his rant stopping after hearing you, he blushes and hides his face behind his hand speed walking to a room for privacy.

“don’t say those words so nonchalantly!” he whisper-shouted, causing your lips to turn upward, “you’re blushing?” he clicks his tongue, eyes darting every corner of the room he’s in. “armin we’re already married!” you teased hugging his pillow.

“so?” he weakly bite back, “that’s unfair, why are you always so cute?” you whined playing with the ring on your finger as it reflected from the moonlight. conversation flowed smoothly between the two of you, his voice unknowingly calming and lulling you back to sleep. your eyes drooping close, his story slowly fading away.

after some time of not hearing any response from you, armin chuckles imagining you adorably sleeping with your phone falling down on the bed. “see you in your dreams, my darling” he whispers on his phone before ending the call.

translation: 'how long will i wait to be with you again

in my life full of suffering?'

you held armin’s hands wrapping them around you, leaning in his touch as you took in his warmth humming in delight. he’s finally here, alive and in flesh. no more cold nights, the bed won’t feel big anymore.

“i missed you so much” you mumble on his skin, “i know” he said while stroking your head. “but you need to let go” he whispers, you shut your eyes tightly shaking your head.

translation: 'and you are the only one who wipes away my tears

and puts a smile on my lips

“no” you firmly said, hugging him tighter. “y/n, darling” his voice slowly fading “you have to” your breath hitched, his once warm body now feels cold. “armin no” your voice cracking desperately clinging to him.

“you need to accept it” he smiled sadly at you, “no no no, that’s not true” eyes still closed not wanting to face the reality.

“utopia district police chief, chief superintendent armin arlert died on duty…” the television’s static sound filled the room.

you felt your knees buckle, falling down on the cold floor of your shared apartment. your tears that you didn’t know you were holding back are now falling down your face freely.

Orange and Lemons is a Filipino pop rock band founded and formed in 1999 by lead vocalist and guitarist Clem Castro along with Ace and JM del Mundo. Former member, Mcoy Fundales served as the lead vocalist and guitarist since its formation until its last reception in 2007. The group's musical genre's been a mix of alternative rock, indie pop and experimental music and heavily influenced by several well-respected bands in different generations like The Smiths, The Beatles and the Eraserheads. The band had released three several albums and gained commercial success with their sophomore album Strike Whilst the Iron is Hot released in 2005. The group parted ways in 2007 due to musical differences. Following the band's break up several members formed their own groups. Mcoy Fundales formed Kenyo alongside JM and Ace del Mundo. While, Clem formed his own indie group The Camerawalls with the band's original member, Law Santiago.

In 2017, after 10 years on hiatus, the band announced that they would reunite as a trio, and later as a quartet when keyboardist Jared Nerona joined.
