As can be seen in a story background illustration, Minori's family owns a Nintendo Switch.

The first section of gameplay shown in MORE MORE JUMP!'s Sekai Game Day video is recorded from her console. This also confirms that she owns the game Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics.

Since Minori sets up a lobby using local play, this also means the other members of MMJ own Nintendo Switch consoles and Clubhouse Games. This is further confirmed by the daifugo gameplay being recorded from Haruka's console.

Day Two of the Food Festival!  This one has a specific request from @baelpenrose, which was fun to play with in the Low-Stim session (always on day 2).

On with the show!

The first day of the Festival, Conor and I ended up staying through not only Maverick’s shift but the one after, just so we could drag him to our favorite spots. Day two, however, Conor was on deck as Support Personnel as well as Maverick, and neither were assigned to me - for the first half of day two, we were in the Low Stim Mode, so I was pretty sure I could brave it on my own with everyone else’s proximity alerts and my own personal hyper-alertness preventing accidental bumps.

For me, the most exciting part was the different foods offered, and the fact that I could focus on just the food. Not having to ignore the other stimuli was a completely relaxing experience. The visual of the mural, with everything present, was still completely different in the even, indirect lighting. The dual nature of it was toned down significantly, leading to the overall feel being softer and overall more pleasant without being distracting.

Halfway through a very good pad thai, I spotted Derek and Sam sitting with Ivan and poking at something that Sam was clearly excited about and Derek was equally doubtful of. I circled around so they could see me approaching, and made a point to wave. “What do you think?” I asked, trying to sign as I spoke but hampered by the food in my hands.

“It was a good try,” Derek confessed, cheeks stuffed with something that had previously been on a plate to his left as a backup plan.

Setting my food down, I grinned mischievously. “Doing my best,” I signed, leading to laughter on all sides.

“You just told him you do him the best,” Ivan murmured, my face immediately flooding red.

“That is NOT what I meant,” I tried to explain out loud, over-enunciating while I clenched my hands in embarrassment.

To his credit, Derek signed what he seemed to understand I meant, emphasizing each sign. It was clear that I had gotten several out of order and added one that changed everything overall.

After repeating the signs and getting confirmation, I shook my head and sighed dramatically. “I tried.”

Ivan was trembling with laughter. “You. You did,” he admitted. “But that was… wow.” His head dropped on his hands as he shook silently.

“Souffle pancakes?” I offered, finger spelling the word souffle since I had no freaking clue how to actually sign it.

“Egg pancake,” Derek explained, poking the one I offered and contemplating the jiggle.

“It’s cinnamon sugar, and not gooey,” I explained.

Apparently I got that one right, because Derek immediately stabbed a piece and shoved it in his mouth.  The only judgement I needed was the fact that he dragged the entire remaining pancake onto his plate.

Sam watched his roommate before contemplating his own sample. Before he could even ask, I held up a cup full of macerated berries. “And fruit topping for you, sir.”

“Are those my berries?” he asked, skeptical.

I shook my head. “Bog standard, from the consoles. Your vegetables and fruits are being used in the other shifts. We didn’t want to give anyone here unexpected tastes.”

He nodded and dumped the entire cup of fruit over his pancake, digging in happily.

Ivan batted his eyes at me until I explained. “Sam’s produce has… unexpected pairings. Tomatoes that pair with cheesecake and wines, strawberries that really go well with steak…”

“The mango that goes with beer but not fish?”

“Yeah, that one. Von soil does strange things to produce, turns out.”

“Those matcha-edamame are amazing though.”

“For ice cream, yes. For tea, less so. They’re like… cooking matcha, almost.” I laughed. They actually worked better for ice cream than matcha did, oddly - reducing the sugar content but still giving the same flavor.

“One vendor on the last day is using nothing but my produce,” Sam announced happily. “They asked my permission.”

“That’s good!” I encouraged him. “They should always ask your permission to do things like that.”

“People ask with requisition forms,” he agreed. “Mona asked in person.”

Note to self: much more patronage at Mona’s normal spot, I swore in my head.  She specialized in vegetarian dishes, and honestly made some of the best fried cabbage I’d had in my life.  Knowing that she was so considerate of Sam cemented her as my new favorite takeaway place.

After a little more chat, I finally waved my goodbyes to everyone and strolled slowly to the next tempting stall. I wasn’t really in any hurry, and did more people-watching than I did eating. Latkes were infinitely more interesting when I could overhear people arguing over family recipes.  A small bowl of udon was delicious, but not nearly as flavorful as the discussion around hot versus cold, what to top them with, egg or no egg… the only thing anyone seemed to agree on was that the smiling vendor ‘obviously’ ground their own flour, because the flour provided by the consoles was the wrong texture.

Another mental note: don’t learn to make udon.  Despite what I had previously believed, it takes a lifetime to make it right, turns out.

Wandering further down, I was delighted by the discovery of something that was very clearly Hannah’s doing: demonstrations of older food prep techniques.  Simon winked at me as he carried on a demonstration of - insanely - how to hand pull toffee. I didn’t know he could do that. Muna was demonstrating the correct way to make chapatis and handing them out as fast as she was making them. Clearly, she had been making them her whole life, because at no point did I actually see her look at them, but every single one was perfect.

Laughter erupted over my shoulder, and I whipped my head around to see the source. After wading through a crowd of smiling faces, I couldn’t help but join in.  There, right in front of the entire Ark, was Maverick trying to flip takoyaki as fast as the person demonstrating, and ending up with just a mess of octopus and batter on his side.  Both Maverick and the person guiding him were smiling, though, and in the end, the vendor handed Maverick four perfectly-round balls and quickly devoured all of the - less shapely, so to speak - ones on my partner’s side.  With an exuberant cheer and extending his arms wide to the crowd, the man exclaimed “The first takoyaki of a new student are always my favorite! Nothing tastes better!”

After bowing to his sensei, Maverick turned and spotted me, face still flushed with laughter.  He offered his food to a smaller man I did not recognize, who must have been the person Maverick was Supporting, before waving to me and continuing on.  Despite the urge to crush him in a hug, I forced my feet to stay in place and reminded myself that he was working.

By the time I trusted myself not to race after him, I realized someone had been trying to get my attention and had resorted to messaging me rather than shouting. “Phee, I don’t know what la-la land you are lost in, but look 100 yards to your four.”

The hell was Arthur doing here? He wasn’t scheduled to work this shift, as far as I was aware.  Craning my neck over my shoulder, I turned to see… Apparently a hallucination. It had to be.  There was no chance in any of the nine hells that Arthur Farro was dishing out spaghetti, much less smiling while doing it.

Almost dreamlike, I found myself drifting over to confirm that I was wrong, only to be startled when he shoved a plate with not only spaghetti but two gorgeous pieces of garlic bread under my nose. “Special plates, you can’t smell anything unless it’s on purpose.”

“You… Spaghetti?” I asked, eloquent as ever.

“Family recipe.”

“Leaning into the stereotype a bit, aren’t you?” I asked carefully before shoving as much of one thick, crusty piece of toast in my mouth as I could.

He shook his head. “Anyone who tells you their family is Italian and denies having a family recipe for anything is a damned liar.”

Skeptically, I took a bite. It was amazing. “Ah ee deh rehahee,” I tried to get out around the heap of pasta I was steadily shoving in my mouth.

“Maverick is a very bad influence on your table manners,” he observed drily, plating more portions and handing them out. “And no. Not happening.”

“You know I can cook.”

“Not the point. I also know that you will fiddle with it until it is unrecognizable, so there’s really no point in giving it to you.”

Defiantly, I took a smaller bite and chewed carefully. “Garlic, onions, obviously. Sausage and minced… Lamb? But that’s probably just for this session, knowing you it’s spicy sausage regularly.  I’m not getting carrot, though, so no soffritto? Unexpected…. Is that thyme, I’m tasting?”

“Rosemary, you heathen. And you’re still wrong.”

I mumbled to myself. “What did I get wrong? It’s gotta be the lamb… maybe he does usually use the lamb? I’m certain it is lamb…”

“It is lamb, and no, I don’t usually use it. But you left several things out.”

I stared at the plate again, confused. “I didn’t think I needed to mention the tomatoes….”

“Basil… oregano….” he drawled.

“Duhhh?” I poked through the last bite on my plate, sniffing it, trying to figure out what I was missing. “Fine, you win, I’m lost.”

“Mushrooms, Sophia. There’s mushrooms. Jeezus. It was an easy one, too.”  He showed me a bowl full of what looked like cooked and crumbled sausage, only for me to realize it was the tiniest diced mushrooms I had ever seen in my life.

“I am dying to know how you got them that small.”

“With a knife?” He arched an eyebrow at me as he turned to start another batch of sauce.

“Yeah, no shit, Arthur.”

“Correct, there is no shit in the spaghetti,” he confirmed cheekily as the vegetables started sizzling.

“Asshole,” I laughed, scraping the remaining sauce from my plate with the piece of bread I saved just for that purpose. Just as I was frowning at the sauce-less plate and remaining half-piece of bread, a scalding hot dollop of fresh sauce invaded my vision.

“You love me, because I won’t let you frown at your bread like that.”

Fiiiinnnne I sighed in my head as I shoved a piece of saucy, saucy bread into my cheeks and waggled my fingers to let him get back to work.

So, I was thinking about the coronavirus pandemic and what I could do to help people out. I’m isolated because I’m at higher risk, so I can’t really offer to go out for my elderly neighbors or my family… but I thought I could try to help keep people entertained.

Because I don’t have an AO3 account right now, I’ve been compiling fic recs for my own amusement for a year or so. And I thought – maybe that’s the time to share these with everyone? So everyone will have plenty of things to read while they have to stay at home, or even to escape anxiety a little bit if you’re forced to go out.

Of course, these cater to my own tastes, so you may find stuff you don’t like around here. I never include works in progress. The Mature and Explicit works will be in italic. I ask you to READ THE WORK’S TAGS before continuing, so you won’t find anything that makes you uncomfortable.

No one drives those but police, these days, and regular officers drive patrol cars.” He leans forward a little, gloved hands circling his helmet and lowering it slightly to his handlebars for extra balance. “Far from undercover, if you know what you’re looking for.”

The cloud cover shifts, revealing the gorgeous full moon, and the light catches the man just right, surrounding him in a pearly glow and putting his face in shadow. “And you know what you’re looking for?”

KID is warm, alive, thrilling. Shinichi’s face warms.

In this moment, beneath the pale moonlight, helping KID evade arrest, detective Kudou Shinichi realizes he’s in love with the Phantom Thief, Kaitou KID. And he probably has been for a long time.

1.) Discarded Space Dust: of course the first one has to be my more weird headcanon TvT. But anyways: basically what I headcanon is that the divine spirit (vinny's old mii) and Vlinny were once... one? But like, when the world was made, the uhh beings that made it (the programmers I suppose?) Wanted to make one mii that could run the show and have powers and shit? Like, he was supposed to rule after he got the hang of his magic... but, they decided to get rid of half, I guess you could say the dark magic parts, leaving the divine spirit with only the light (I say divine spirit but he's not the divine spirit YET. Right now he's a mii. I just haven't decided what to call him yet... Miitopia era is vine, tomo is vineh(sauce)... should I call the divine spirit "vinny"??).  They tossed the dark magic out into space, discarded. But little did they know, the discarded space dust began to form a human shape and sentience. The dust is confused and doesn't know what he is, but is joyful and curious. His curiosity one day brought him To inspect earth closer, and fell onto it by mistake. The sort of magic of the place gave him a mii form, almost identical to "Vinny", as they were two halves of one whole. (Note: when I say light magic I don't necessarily mean good magic, and likewise that I don't mean evil with dark magic) 

2.) Before he removed his face: this, as I said before, is how I headcannon Vlinny looked before he removed his face: like vinny's old mii but with the hair mirrored. He forgot about being a cosmic entity when he became a mii, but he would frequently find himself looking at the night sky with longing. He had a positive attitude at first, and rather extroverted, wanting to make friends... but.. He seemed to lack the necessary social skills. He was too eager, he didn't understand personal space, he would try inserting himself in a group of people, only for them to be driven away as soon as he did. He made too much eye contact. people avoided him. He didn't understand what he was doing wrong, and no one would tell him. When he one day ran into someone who looked just like him, he thought things were looking up. "He looks just like me! Are we like brothers? Hey, can we be friends?" Unfortunately,they were actually a turn for the worse. "Vinny" immediately hated Vlinny for looking just like him. Because of his magic, he was popular, and unique. He felt that Vlinny could ruin everything. So he decided to ruin everything for Vlinny first. "Why do you look like me?? You shouldn't look like me... you know, there's nothing more boring than something unoriginal. Why can't you get your own face?" Vlinny was distraught by "vinny's" reaction to him, and because of "vinny" people would ignore him even more. And when they didn't ignore him, they would laugh at him. Vlinny couldn't understand. He was sad. He was jealous. He decided that his own face was to blame, and so he removed it, and then...

3.) True Form/Dark Curse: he becomes the dark curse! He starts out more humanoid, but as he possessed more people his form degrades to the "poop emoji" shape (but after regaining a human form, his true form reverts to the more humanoid one). He feels nothing but the hate and jealousy he had. Possessing people and trying to make "vinny's" life a living Hell for what he did, he practically caused the apocalypse of what they considered a "utopia" (which I decided is called Lumos, like the new one Vlinny made in miitopia that the strong monsters are in). He was finally stopped for the time being when "Vinny" and some others managed to trap him in a stone necklace carved to look like an eye. "Vinny", as his own sort of punishment, agreed to be put in a jeweled necklace of a closed eye, so that if the dark curse returns he could guide his descendents. However, rather than being passed down his family line like he was supposed to someone else took him and he was passed down their family instead. The dark curse in his necklace was also placed in a locked chest, then shoved deep down in an icy mine. Then several generations later, he gets Mike Love (or Bill Trinen???) To go down into the mine and open the chest, he possessed him, and then Miitopia plot.

4.) Reborn: the dark curse is given a second chance at life when Miitopia's hero and savior Vine gives him a new face. He is Vlinny again, but there's something wrong with his mouth... the Great Sage, Jesus, takes Vlinny with him to atone for what he did. Vlinny feels guilty about what he did, but the feeling of jealousy and hate still lingered at the back of his mind. He wants to be good, but is a little confused as to how. Even with Jesus and the others trying to help. Nonetheless, he really does try to atone for what he did. He also must try to get a hold on his powers, as he has trouble controlling them in his new form. However, just as things seemed like they were going well...

5.) Frozen: the monsters are still around even after saving the dark curse, and it causes a lot of problems. People immediately blame Vlinny for the monsters continued presence. One thing after another, and things escalate ending with Vlinny being pushed off a cliff into the water below. His fear triggers his ice powers, and he accidentally completely freezes himself at the bottom of the ocean. Upon this happening, the monsters disappear, and his skyscraper falls from the sky. He hadn't even known his very presence was keeping the monsters in existence. Several generations pass, and people had abandoned the land of Miitopia as water levels rise and the great land is reduced to a small island.

6.) Test Tube: a team of Jahn scientists are the given the task to replicate the leader of a small island with the intention of the clone take his place. They presume that the task will be easy to complete, but find themselves proven wrong as they have difficulty creating a human clone.Yhey began to panic because if they cant complete their task their superiors will dispose of them. When visiting the island to gather more dna samples, one jahn decides to look for specimens in the ocean and discovers... a man that looks eerily similar the person they are trying to replicate frozen in ice! He takes a chance that even his team questions, and brings the frozen man back to the jahn planet, where they thaw him and place him in a test tube so they can revive him (though he somehow still had a beating heart after being frozen for who knows how long). After stabilizing him, they decide to use a serum to give him amnesia, because they dont want his past life interfering with their new plan for him. After hes out of the test tube, the jahns need to reraise him. They try to teach him how to be Vinehsauce (Vlinny develops some jealousy towards Vinehsauce).Vlinny does not like it on the Jahn planet, disliking their excessive order and no fun. Vlinny has difficulty understanding his own emotions, as most around seem to have none whatsoever. Hes also taught combat by a red army jahn (future fake captian jahn) who decides to use vlinny as a weapon for his own plan, and decides to “befriend” Vlinny. Lumberjahn makes the suit Vlinny wears when he first comes to Vineland, which is like a freezer he could wear (and also arm canon). Hes sent to Vineland ahead of the jahns on a ship made just for him, the “Ice Fractal”.

7.) Tomodachi Life: we know what happened here, but I’ll use this spot for headcanons! My interpretation of Vlinny is chaotic neutral, sometimes tipping more towards the good side and evil side. hes abit morally confused, cuz the jahns had no morals at all. He works with the jahns when they come, helping with their quest for chicken cutlets, though the captain is annoyed that Vlinny had not successfully replaced Vinehsauce, but gives him other tasks. Vlinny becomes more involved when the fake captian overthrows the real captian. Vlinny starts to want out when he realized that the fake captain had lied about them being equals and also sees the damage theyre causing, but the fake captain threatens to hurt Dheerse (oh no), a girl on the island that Vlinny had befriended and started to crush on (awww), forcing Vlinny to continue. During the Jahnpocalyse, Vlinny officially turns on the jahns, breaking the fake captians visor and saves Dheerse, who the fake captain was about to force Vlinny to shoot. The real captain gains back control, and decides its time to abandon the mission. they try to take fake captian into custody, but he escapes in pod and is now who-knows-where. Vlinny almost dies at one point after falling out of the jahn ship. his armor is broken and only the the arm with the arm canon was still functional. he stays on the island with lumberjahn, and wants to make things up to Dheerse. Things really start to look up for him, but then the erasings happen. hes one of the only people who remember, her existence being erased from people’s memories. Vlinny, desperately asking everyone where she went, is seen as having gone crazy. additional notes: the parka he wears actually keeps him cool. this is because he has a cold body temperature, and the parka helps hold in his coldness, like how it would hold in another person’s heat. he used to have red blood, but it was replaced with blue blood when the jahns revived him. the blood comes out as a mist if he gets cut in hotter weather. tears freeze on his face when he cries. even though the jahns got rid of his memory, his past still effects him subconsciencly. he wants to befriend people but its harder when hes stuck in his ice room most of the time. he loves being center stage, but is self conscience about his perma smile v-mouth. he likes to play violin, and tries to write his own songs, but rarely shares them. so far only dheerse has heard some of his music in the form of love songs. some of his music is a little on the edgy side.

Sagiri: So, first, why don’t all of you tell me where you’re from and your nicknames, as well as the reason you wanted to join Takarazuka.

Hanataba: I’m Hanataba Yume. I’m from the Nerima Ward of Tokyo. My nickname is Keika.

Sagiri: Everyone in Snow Troupe has been calling you ‘Bouquet-chan’, though (laughs). And why did you want to join Takarazuka?

Hanataba: The first Takarazuka show I saw was Prelude of Love, and the theme song left such a deep impression on me, and then the revue was all so pink and I thought it was such a beautiful production that I made Takarazuka my goal.

Sagiri: I wonder if it’s alright to ask your blood type, too? (laughs)

Hanataba: Yes! I’m B-type.

Sagiri: You’re definitely a B-type sort of person...not that I have much to go on (laughs). You and I have the same birthday, right, Bouquet-chan. Okay, next person.

Ruri: I’m Ruri Hanaka. I’m from Kyoto city, Kyoto prefecture. My nickname is China. The first Takarazuka show I saw was Kozuki Wataru-san’s Rose of Versailles*, but the strongest memory I have of that is that I was really scared of the gunfire sound effects. After that, I saw Russian Blue…

Sagiri: Oh, I was in that.

Ruri: …’s poster…

Sagiri: Ah, the poster. I wasn’t on the poster (laughs).

Ruri: I saw it at the train station and I was really interested, so I went to see the show and during the middle of it I thought in my heart ‘I’ve got to get in here!’

Sagiri: China looks like an A-type, but you’re an O-type!

Ruri: I’m an A-type.

Sagiri: Hm? I messed up (laughs). Alright, next.

Haon: I’m Haon Mika. My hometown is Osaka city, Osaka prefecture. My nickname is Mii. One of the older students at the ballet studio I was studying at since I was really little debuted with NOVA BOSSA NOVA/A Second Fortuitous Meeting, so I went to see it, which was my first time seeing Takarazuka. I was struck by the totally different type of dance from ballet, and I thought it was so energetic and amazing, so I decided to take the entrance exam.

Sagiri: (looking through Otome**) ‘Good organizational skills’...in that case, Mii must be an A-type!

Haon: Yes.

Sagiri: Oh! I got it! Next person, go ahead.

Yumeshiro: I’m Yumeshiro Aya. I’m from Tokyo City’s Suginami Ward. My nickname is Mottii. I took ballet since I was little, and I liked musicals theatre music, but I never saw Takarazuka. After entering highschool, I thought I wanted to try something different from ballet so I started studying vocal music, and my mother saw the curriculum offered at the Takarazuka Music School and recommended it to me.

Sagiri: You entered without knowing anything, so all the other things besides the curriculum must have been quite a shock, right? (laughs)

Yumeshiro: I had fun, though.

Sagiri: Your blood type is...it says you’re good at making accessories, so you must be A-type!

Yumeshiro: I’m O-type.

Sagiri: Oh? (laughs) Alright, next is our only boy.

Ayaji: I’m Ayaji Yurika. I’m from Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture. My nickname is Miwa. My first time seeing Takarazuka was also Kozuki-san’s Rose of Versailles, and after that I would always wear white ruffled blouses at home, and I had my parents buy me white boots, and I would pretend I was Oscar all the time. Once I shouted ‘Captain Oscar!’ in my sleep and woke myself up.

Sagiri: In your dream you must have been a member of the Gardes Francaises (laughs). I’m happy to see in Otome that the role you would like to play is Okita Souji in Man of Starlight, since I’ve played that role too.

Ayaji: I was lucky enough to be able to see Sagiri-san’s performance.

Sagiri: Oh, is that why? Ah, sorry about that (laughs). Miwa-chan’s blood type is...and don’t betray my expectations this time...A-type!

Ayaji: I’m a B-type.

Sagiri: Oh my gosh… (laughs). Alright, next I’d like to ask how you feel about your debut.

Hanataba: I’ve always been a big fan of Sagiri-san and Sakihi-san, so ever since I heard that our debut performance would be with Snow Troupe, every day has been so happy for me. It feels like a dream that I’m able to stand on the same stage with you. Every day has been full of happiness as well as gratitude for all the applause we receive from the audience.

Sagiri: That is great that you had that connection with us at the very end.

Ruri: On the first day, doing the address and the line dance was so fun, and it made me so happy, and I felt even more strongly how much I love Takarazuka.

Sagiri: And right now, what part do you think is the most fun?

Ruri: When we do the final pose, and the audience applauds so warmly.

Haon: When I was going through the entrance exam process, I saw the debut performance of that time over and over, and every time I thought ‘I would be so amazingly happy to be able to stand on that stage’ and was really moved. Right now every day I’m so happy that it all feels like a dream.

Yumeshiro: When the curtain opened the first day, I was surprised at how warm the whole atmosphere was. I’m also very happy to be able to learn so much while we’re together with the senior actresses of Snow Troupe.

Ayaji: I’m so happy that I’m able to perform with all the amazing senior actresses I admire so much and as my beloved classmates, as well as having so many people supporting our performance backstage, and so many audience members coming to see us. I’m working hard to be able to treasure this time forever.

Sagiri: I’m so happy you all have such passionate feelings. What kind of performer do you all want to be in the future? Actually, at the start I didn’t really have that kind of goal. I just liked Takarazuka and being an otokoyaku… Still, I think I’d like to ask you anyway.

Hanataba: I want to put all my energy into the things that need it, and keep learning without forgetting the aesthetic of the Takarazuka musumeyaku.

Ruri: I want to be hot-blooded and cool-headed...and I always want to be ‘clear’.

Sagiri: ‘Be clear’?

Ruri: I want to be true to myself without feeling like I have to explain myself to anyone.

Sagiri: Ah! What a stable person.

Haon: I want to be a performer who takes on everything directly and expresses everything clearly.

Yumeshiro: I want to be a musumeyaku who can perform in all different genres of dancing, singing, and acting.

Ayaji: I want to always challenge my own weak points, and someday I want to be an otokoyaku who is cool but still has a natural atmosphere.

Sagiri: What is it that all of you most like about the performing arts?

Hanataba: I like dance, so I’m longing to perform in numbers like the one Choreographer Bryant*** created for this show.

Sagiri: Ah, Yuumi-chan’s (Sakihi’s) chair dance scene!

Ruri: I like acting the best.

Sagiri: In Otome it says that a role you would like to play is Fuku from I Won’t Forget the Young Day’s Song, I see.

Haon: I also like dance the best, and I would love to be in a dance scene where all the musumeyaku are wearing simple dresses.

Sagiri: You’re so slender, that would look great on you!

Yumeshiro: I especially like expressing myself through singing.

Sagiri: What is your favorite genre of song?

Yumeshiro: I like songs like ‘Hymne a l’Amour’ where you can express many different emotions in the same piece.

Ayaji: My favorite is acting, but they say it takes 10 years to become a good otokoyaku…

Sagiri: Right, since there’s ‘ten years to otokoyaku’. Alright, I’m sure you all have questions as well?

Hanataba: What do you think are the good aspects or traditions of Snow Troupe right now, and what are you trying to focus on since your retirement is approaching?

Sagiri: I think one of the good things is that everyone cares for each other, and tries to look out for each other without being restricted by the vertical hierarchy. Everyone’s attitude of trying to teach one another is I think one of the good points or traditions of the current Snow Troupe. Something I feel is important right now is that, since this is a show that’s supposed to make the audience happy, to make sure I’m conscious of the people who have come to see the show during my performance. That way, I feel like I’m getting something back from the audience and that becomes energy for me.

Ruri: When you get advice from someone, but it is a bit different from your own thinking, what do you do?

Sagiri: You ask really deep questions (laughs). Of course if someone tells you something that’s different from what you’d been thinking, it would be startling and disturb you a bit, but I think it’s important to try to accept those kind of things. It can guide you to the right answer and help you grow, I think.

Haon: What are you thinking when you come down the Grand Stairs in the parade for each performance?

Sagiri: I seem to always feel how happy it makes me to be on stage, and how happy it is that I made a convincing performance, and how happy it is to make the audience so happy and that they applaud for me…

Yumeshiro: When you perform the same role for a long time, do you find your approach to the character changes?

Sagiri: In my case, when I was in shinjin kouens, everything was leading up to one single performance so I would decide everything in my performance carefully. But at some point, I got tired of being like that so I stopped planning things out so strictly, and then things became really fun. My horizons widened out and I was able to observe so much… So now, in rehearsals, I try to get to the roots of my character through trial and error, and once I’m onstage I let myself go with how I feel that day and the atmosphere of the show. That way it naturally ends up a bit different every time.

Ayaji: What were your goals when you were a junior actress, and after graduating from shinjin kouens, and then when you became Top Star?

Sagiri: When I was a junior actress in Cosmos Troupe, I was surrounded by so many really big otokoyaku, and since I was small I longed to be a large-scale otokoyaku like that a lot. I got a lot of ‘cute younger friend’ sort of roles, which was totally different from what I wanted to be, so my goal was to become seen as a man in my own right as soon as possible. But after I graduated from shinjin kouens, I went totally the opposite way from that issue, and became determined to achieve my own individuality. When I was considering how I could be the sort of otokoyaku that was unique to me, I began feeling more strongly that I wanted to perform as the characters rather than just as an otokoyaku, so I think at that point my goal became to try playing all kinds of characters, without limiting the kinds of roles I would play at all. And then when I became Top Star, I began thinking of Snow Troupe and the show as most important, rather than myself.
