we marched through the world,

we marched as much as we could.

but they took away our flags,

and we were left as rags,

on the street.

all powerless,

all- hopeless.

is this what we deserve?

or will they finally learn,

that it is not okay,

to ruin our day,

nevermind "day",

ruin our life, we say.

so we grew watermelons,

they've grown here for aeons.

they have our color,

for what more could we ask for?

when they simply won't let us be free,

just because they can't see,

that they are committing crime,

while a single life is worth every dime.

but we are in no need of flags,

because even as rags,

daughters to sons,

what will still grow,

are those watermelons.
