GOOD QUESTION! i’ll explain it more in the fic but essentially when he left, he had conversations with everyone EXCEPT for reader, so he told satoru & shoko he was leaving but he just left reader w/o saying a word… satoru & shoko were pissed on reader’s behalf and satoru confronted him about it later and suguru was like: yeah i didn’t talk to them… what about it? and from then on, suguru’s relationship w satoshoko kinda fizzled out naturally in a way? the only times suguru saw satoru were when they were called into professional hearings by the elders and even then they kinda didn’t really speak to each other! and suguru + shoko may have caught up randomly at times but they’d just smoke & drink quietly. and as for reader… they truly haven’t seen suguru in a decade it’s almost a wild feat that they both hadn’t crossed paths with each other in that time! but i think suguru designed it to be that way in his own lil way…
