shared heartbreak (they are guarding lord’s wedding.)

i was thinking about some happy astridfram but then lord wedding fanarts keep passing by my timeline and my brain turned into this... 

au where lord gets married and astrid and fram are there, guarding the place for their most important person. fram never realized she loved lord romantically and it's only now that she understands her feelings. it's all regret and what ifs, wondering if she had understood earlier, it could be her up there... if she had-

meanwhile astrid has always known that she's in love with lord, but she thinks she doesn't have a chance. so she has been keeping quiet. supporting lord's love story in the background. it’s only with fram that astrid openly gushes about lord, thinking fram was the same as her. only during the wedding did astrid realize that fram never even registered her own feelings. astrid felt sympathy and sadness- perhaps the sadness she feels for fram today is stronger than the tightness in her chest seeing lord up there.

astrid is glad it's not her at the altar, she's glad it's not her that is with lord right now. because if she was up there, if she pushed through back then, if she didn’t insist on being a ‘good friend’ and just shoot her shot- who would be here to comfort fram right now?

Talk framstrid to me

okay okay okay thank you let me talk to you and the rest of the world why i adore framstrid so much. first of all, they just share vibes- they're both energetic and cheery (in a way) and they often comment on each other's words or behaviors more than anyone else (other than lord). they're friends, first and foremost.

and i imagine it can be overwhelming for astrid to take on the world with how she sees a fourth wall and all, despite her lightheartedness about it. being with fram will feel... simple, grounding. fram is grounded to earth and steadfast. to astrid, fram can be someone to hold on to when things get too much.

that, and i am SUCH a sucker for the "only you understand how important this person (lord) is. only you can understand my desperate worship and yearning behind all my laughter and jokes i dare to show" trope. they're the only ones who can understand each other's obsession and faith for lord. (yes, yes, johan, charlotte, the blake cousins exist but fram? the one who's been around the longest i presume, and astrid? the one who will go through multiple lifetimes just to see lord again? gosh they fit each other so well. they gush a lot about lord, i bet.) they find comfort in each other's love for lord. because who else will understand this, if not the other person?

it's also fun to imagine them as sparring partners, because canonly even in their first meeting they have this exchange:

bonus, but fram immediately finding a likeness between the two of them is so cute.

there's also these- in every lifetime it seems that they will have (or even have had) the chance to be friends. they just. they just GET ALONG WELL. DONT THEY. DONT THEY. there are multiple moments where they're seen getting along and it's so cute. oh my dumbass friends to lovers trope. they're too fixated on lord to even realize their feelings for each other. i like to think they seek each other when they know they can't tell their problems to lord. look at them LOOK AT THEM

see, i like that fram's simple-mindedness (/pos) is a good match with astrid's playful teasing and her attitude of acting like she knows everything/more than others sometimes. fram isn't swayed with that, fram will take everything at face value and accept astrid's words as they are. fram says once in extreme mode that astrid always has fun stories to tell, and it seems astrid is always happy to share her thoughts and stories with fram <3

ultimately, i think they're just..... they very much enjoy each other's company. and i love their companionship and their possible comfort with each other, especially concerning a certain person they both yearn for.
