Knowing Astra's backstory from the comics and the animated movie, which they implied was canon for Legends at the time, but clearly isn't - I don't really feel comfortable with Astra as a Big Bad. She was a victim of extreme occult ritual child abuse. Also her comic back story is very similar to Nora's. Maybe too similar - she was exploited and abused by her occult dad who led a cult and used her to summon demons, sound familiar? She's even also pissed at John for not saving her as a kid. I mean, they basically already did this entire story with Nora. I don't know that you can ask the audience to sympathize with Nora but be against Astra? Also, it feels like we just did this? You've got over 30 years of Constantine lore to pick from, seems like you could use a ton of Big Bads that aren't literally a story you already told.

Or better - give him his own show and use Astra there. I love Constantine, Matt Ryan is amazing, but even I've got to admit they are letting his character arc dictate the stories too much. And the show is coming back post that big Crisis event. Why isn't the big bad someone totally new?
