Notebook Entry Five: Constellation Cast It Out

alright so i've always been a fan of 10 years and i cannot believe that i haven't heard this song before it's sorta embarrassing-

ALSO IF YOU ARE WEARING HEADPHONES AT A HIGH VOLUME DO NOT PLAY THIS BECAUSE IT'S A ROCK SONG. SO PLEASE DONT HURT YOUR EARS

ANYWAY I KNOW IT NOW AND OMG IT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT

we are brought in with this melodic intro and a rhythmic guitar and then we are hit with a BEAT DROP INTO THE CHORUS. LIKE OML.

we get a slide in when they say "your eyes bleed DRYYyyyyyy" (it's so satisfying)

we have a melodic short first verse with such amazing lyrics. then we get a sort of pause? its a very brief one into an extended chorus THAT IS SO AMAZING. LIKE HEAVENLY.

after the chorus we go back into verse 2 a see this new prechorus with chorus-like vocals and then a dun-dun-dun-dun back into that epic pause right before we are hit with another round of the chorus. how absolutely epic is that.

THESE CHORUSES HAVE SUCH AMAZING HARMONIES I CANNOT-

then. i don't think you're ready for this. WE GET A BRIDGE WITH SCREAMING0LIKE VOCALS AND A NEW MELODY AND IT ENDS WITH SUCH A PRETTY DOWNSCALE.

we are sent back to the beginning with thequiet chorus with the guitar in the background. AND WE GET A NEW LYRIC LINE. LIKE

"casted out let him die with time"

WHAT. AMAZING. STUNNINGGGG.

the last "eyes bleed dry" have some additional harmonies and it's a new note sequence too i believe.

sent back to the no lyric bridge sequence and then an eventful ending with ending lyrics.

ANYWAY AMAZING SONG. 10/10. CANNOT BELIEVE I HAVENT HEARD IT BEFORE 😭 😭 😭

the start of the song reminds me of cardigan and i don't know why 😭 .

when the chorus starts going, i feel like LEVITATING. I'M STILL DISCOVERING SUCH AWESOME SONGS SINCE BEING A SWIFTIE FOR 5 YEARS.

the added harmonies as the number of the choruses progress make it so angelic and the bass and synths added make it feel absolutely amazing.

this song for me is a mix of false god and lover for some reason.

the style of the instrumental is very much like false god using all of the bases and synths to create this beautiful space and the lyrics and their notes remind me of lover because of how melodic they are.

THIS SONG.

oh my goodness gracious. how it starts with practically all low notes, and then when it goes into the pre chorus with "i'm standing on a tightrope ALONE" the harmonies on "alone" are LITERAL PERFECTION.

and then the backtrack goes silent. AND THEN WE GET HIT WITH THE AMAZING CHORUS.

and then were back in the verses and she hits us with the last notes in those phrases going down "now i'm pacing on shaky GROUnd." LOVEEEEE

now. we are in the bridge. and we all know that taylor's bridges are unmatched. im listening to this echo like part and then

THE HARMONIES ON "I SAID, I LOVE YOU". my jaw dropped when i heard that. it was something else.

and the outro was so sad 😭 but anyway theres my totally professional opinion on this song. ITS AMAZING

THE RHTHYM OF THESE LYRICS. THE NOTES. OMG I LOVE THIS SONG. the weird click synth noise thing in the beginning scratches my brain i love it so much. A thing I love in basically all of Lorde's songs is the base and synths and low notes. THEY'RE ALWAYS SO GOOD.

hello! im going to start this series where whenever I find a song that I absolutely love, im going to add it to my "starfield of songs". A starfield (no not the video game) is basically the stars you see in a field of vision, whether that be a photo or through a telescope. A starfield is that piece of the sky. i'll try to update these at least once a day but im not sure. it will be an assortment of songs, ranging from pop to rock to indie, im really not sure, but yeah, have fun.

um. no words. left speechless.

i've been listening to more of this album and oh my. THIS IS SOOOOOO GOOD. THIS SONG PAINTS A FULL MOVIE IN MY HEAD ITS GREAT.

the lyricism in this song is absolute beauty.

THE BEAT DROP. IS. HEAVENLY. WHAT SORCERY IS THIS.

when i hear "glory and gore go hand in hand" i feel like floating up. im not joking.

THE BRIDGE. it's so original actually. ive never heard anything similar. the big "plonk" sound fits so perfectly but it sticks out the right amount.

anyway i love this song. its absolutely AMAZING.
