bllk s2's animation is hard to watch at the beginning (which is not the animators fault but the studio) but rin looooks so pretty in them and the finale aka the final match between him and sae was chefs kiss LIKE THEY REALLY GAVE IT JUSTICE! And the additional time for young rin and sae when they were younger?? Ugh so cute!!

can't wait for the day they animate the rest of the itoshi bros childhood and my long awaited match which is rin vs isagi vs kaiser in NEL!!

anywhoo since DP is set in the future, I wonder what's readers reaction was when sae and rin faced eo in the Under 17 (?) arc if you're gonna include that one in the story. Cuz I remember there was a snippet of Sae when he came home and woke up from doing the deed w/ DP! reader and reader was like "don't leave us again". Was that when he came home for U17 or is that a diff arc/story in the DP universe?

SFSLJSKSS I'm so shocked you know this deep lore about desire path. like. WOW. I thought that snippet with sae was lost to time 😭 so like. that is actually a scene from an alternate version of desire path that I had to discontinue because it was giving me too much psychic damage to write. everything is different in that og version - rin is already in a romantic relationship with the reader by the time of the U20 match, and she and sae intentionally don't talk to each other at all. zero contact. if you want to know more about this original version of the fic, let me know and I can tell you! but I shall spare you for now as it would take forever 💀

BUT ANYWAY. in the current version of desire path - It is like. major drama at the U20 match. she and rin have a massively deteriorating relationship at this point, whereas her relationship with sae is estranged but she's kinda delusional about it and hoping he'll come back to her. she attends the U20 match hoping to see sae, and while they do meet up - he explicitly tells her that he doesn't want to see her again, which is something that he does with good intentions (he has a conscience and does not want to entertain her incestuous feelings), but it really breaks her heart. at this point she feels like both of her brothers really hate her. rin goes home from blue lock shortly after this, they get into a massive fight, and that's when she runs away. 😔

I think it makes the U20 a very weird event for sae - he continues to push away both of his younger siblings for their own good. it's to rin's benefit (for once) as it helps him grow as a soccer player, but it's to his sister's detriment since she doesn't have a support network. there are no good influences in her life. he acts all high and mighty to rin during those phone calls, but he's drowning from guilt over her lol
