well . . . you never 'wake up' in your desired reality. you don't arrive. there is no terminal gate, no sudden cut to black followed by credits rolling on a new world. if you're waiting for the crash, you've misunderstood the flight. but that's semantics. anyways.

shifting isn't an event. it's not a rupture, it's not a lottery win, it's not a punishment or miracle. it's continuity. like breathing, like blinking. what happens when you shift is not that you go somewhere else. it's that you stop arguing with where you are. and by the time you notice, the scenery's already changed.

so you don't wake up in your cr because your cr isn't a separate bedroom you break into once you've behaved enough. your cr is the bed you've always been in. your cr is now. it's here. it's this. but you're still trying to see it through the peephole of your old logic. through scarcity and suspense and the habit of believing everything real has to hurt.

the expectation to 'wake up' comes from the same place as superstition. it's a theatre of reward. you're still expecting it to feel deserved. to arrive with trumpets. to be marked by something. you're still trying to prove something to the doorman in your mind who thinks heaven has a guest list.

but your reality doesn't need fanfare. it doesn't need to knock. it's not late. it's not reluctant. it's not waiting on you to be more visual, more perfect, more devotional. you are not an unpaid intern at the church of quantum theory. you're not performing piety for a state change. you're not a myth. you're a chooser.

so . . . stop expecting to wake up. instead, assume you already did. yesterday. last week. two months ago. during lunch. when you put your phone down. when you said 'this is done.' the moment passed already. you missed it because you were squinting for a sign.

anywho. reality doesn't tap you on the shoulder. it really just expects to reflect something you've given. either the belief that you're here or you're there. your thoughts materialise.

I think you've (plural, Blue and you) said a few times that it "baffles" you that some people are using OSP in classrooms, but I think you're both underselling your charisma. Blue managed to make history fit into my head like no teacher could, and for a bit History was actually my highest graded class. And you convinced me to take a literature optative course last year, a decision I could not possibly be more glad to have done. It was wonderful, and worked a bit like a debate class, where we all talked about what could different things mean, what they could tell us about the author and their life, what was implied, what was in plain view and how those things interacted. I mentioned your channel to the teacher and she was in love, and now she both shows pieces of your trope talks in class and also gives them as reccomended watches for her students. You really have a knack for making solid points in engaging ways, and your videos make me feel like my mind is a dry garden receiving water for the first time in months. Thank you for what you do!

idk if you’re like a real fragrance nut or just a funny review guy but do you have any like.. advice for someone who kinda wants to get into fragrances. ive heard that personal skin chemistry has a lot to do with whether something smells good on yo, how does one figure out what’ll smell nice on them without massive amounts of trial and error? :0

trial and error is the way to go :) perfume is expensive, but you can buy tiny little sample vials from sites like scentsplit and luckyscent for usually $3-7 a pop. most brands also directly sell their own sample packs if you'd like to try from them!

besides that, you can also sample them in-person, but you must go through...

try sniffing a lot of things and seeing what smells nice to you :) even if it smells weird on your skin, you can get the same effect by putting it on your clothes! happy hunting

After watching the trope talks for years I finally decided to watch Leverage. I mentioned to my mom that I was thinking about watching this show I'd heard about but off the top of my head could only remember that it was about people who steal from bad guys and return things to good guys, with trickster hero type character. This conversation was a few weeks ago. I have seen two episodes so far and I love it, and kind of wish I'd started it earlier. My mom has started season 2 already. I don't know how this happened. Two days after our conversation she told me she was on episode 4. She's on IMDb and texting me about the actors and fun facts behind the show and the writing. I have no clue about most of what she's saying, but she's having a great time watching Leverage. I tried to mention the "hey I think there's something about episodes being out of order?" thing and she already knew what I was talking about and had an explanation ready to go for how to watch it. I haven't seen her this interested in something since one of the new Star Trek shows.
