Sigh
And Teba said Tulin was a difficult one to get through. He's quite the bundle of self validation that one.
Does he truly envy Link that much behind his bravado? Oh Link, did you have to go through this over a century ago with him?
Well sooner or later he'll have to see things for what they are. He can only fly away from the truth for so long. Link was never his enemy, nor someone he should be resenting. He can be part of something with him, not against him.
The longer you allow this resentment to consume you, the worse it will be for you in the long run. I do hope you can see reason before that happens.
Hello Harth, how do you feel about this whole buisiness with the hundred year old Rito Champion turning up in the present? Do you get along with him?
Why hello there. I suppose it's natural people would want hear my thoughts regarding this topic.
Revali suddenly popping up in the present day, honestly wasn't to surprising to me. Truth be told, so much crazy stuff has happened all around Hyrule the past couple of years, that it would have to take something truly bizarre, for people to be at a loss for words. We had Sheika tech all over Hyrule one moment, only for them to disappear, and then a bunch of Zonai ruins show up instead. After a while you kind of get used to these kinds of things.
As for my thoughts on Revali? He's...quite the ahem ahem personality.
We have interacted a bit, and while our interactions have been fairly amicable, he's honestly not someone I would want to be spending a lot of time around, or someone I'd want my daughter to be associating with to much either.
I always did wonder why the Rito's always spoke of his feats, but never him as a person. If the other champions were remembered for their talents and personality, why not him?
Teba used to speak very fondly of him, but then he suddenly stopped, almost like he discovered something he didn't want to. It speaks volumes, when Teba is adamant that Link become a role model for Tulin, rather than the supposed pride of our people.
I asked Link what the Rito Champion was like, after discovering he's the same hero from a century ago, but he claimed to not remember, which I knew was a bold faced lie. It's like Link was trying to intentionally hide something about him. Teba's not the only one with a keen eye. He may be good at masking his emotions, not so much unpleasant memories. One look at Link's eyes told me everything I needed to know.
I asked Kass about Revali to, and he told me that sometimes ignorance is the best thing for others. Meeting Revali in person, I can see what he meant. The very person the Rito's respected so highly, in truth didn't have the most appealing personality, and wasn't on best terms with the Hero of Hyrule, because he deemed himself as superior.
Revali is talented there's no doubt about that. His skills are the real deal, his arrows fly true, I can respect his capabilities as a Rito warrior. But humility is clearly not something he considers necessary. He always seems to seek validation, never sparing a second to display his superior skills to others, or opinions about how much better he is, and seems to enjoy belittling Link, which I absolutely will not tolerate.
While I'm not one to bring up the past, Link succeeded where he failed, and saved Rito Village, as well as ours lives twice over. He is in no position to claim superiority over him, nor can he dismiss Link's many contributions in aiding the Rito people. Link has spent many years helping us all out, never once asking for anything in return. Being the Rito Champion, doesn't mean I should just suddenly like him more, now that he's back, because he's of the same race as me. That kind of respect is earned, not given freely.
Revali does have a compassionate side, and his desire to protect Rito Village is genuine. He loves our people with all his heart. However that does not excuse his behaviour, nor his shameful treatment of Link.
Everyone within Rito Village highly respects Link for everything he's done for them, and I'm sure over time it'll be quite the reality check for Revali. To find whatever adoration he may have had in the past, isn't quite so prevalent here in the present, and continuing to belittle Link won't do his reputation any wonders.
Teba sees Link as his kid, and most certainly wouldn't hesitate to speak up for him, even to Revali. Tulin looks up to Link like an idolized older brother, and even considers him as such, not to mention Link in many ways helped nurture him into what he is today. I myself am also very fond of him, because of the positive effect he's had on my family, and Rito Village as a whole. I'm sure many others within the village share similar sentiments.
In any case, I can talk to Revali just fine, but if he expects me to always take his side, and prefer him over others because he's the Rito Champion, he'll find this Bowyer isn't quite so tolerant.

Greetings. Pleasure to make your acquaintance. The name's Harth.
It's come to my attention my friend Teba has been answering letters of all kinds, ranging from simple questions about his life, questions that are concerning, questions on his thoughts about other topic that grabs his interest, and questions that are quite bizarre if I do say so myself.
Seeing as how I'm the Rito Craftsman, or Bowyer if you will, it only makes sense I do my part and answer questions that peak your curiosity.
I have a lot of knowledge to share, and know a thing or two about pointing people in the right direction. It comes with the job, and from ahem ahem, personal experience.
I'm not shy about sharing my thoughts, and I'm pretty good with my words when interacting with others, so don't be shy. I'd be happy to give my insight on whatever topics tickle your fancy!

Why do you require diamonds to craft sometimes??
I'm glad you asked. There's actually a number of reasons why I require diamonds to craft bows, especially for the likes of The Great Eagle Bow.
Diamonds are among the hardest and most durable material in all of Hyrule. This makes them ideal for reinforcing high-quality bows that need to withstand powerful forces and repeated use. The Great Eagle Bow, in particular, is known for its power and accuracy, requiring robust materials. I use diamonds to ensure the bow's structural integrity, preventing breakage and maintaining optimal performance.
I've also been informed diamonds possess subtle magical qualities, and I figured those could contribute to enhance the bows capabilities, such as accuracy, range, or power.
It's no secret diamonds are rare and valuable, making them a suitable resource to represent the high quality and status of the Great Eagle Bow. Needing diamonds to craft it signifies that it's not an ordinary bow but a powerful and prestigious weapon.
I knew the bow was rooted deep in the Rito's history, but it came as quite the surprise when Link and Tulin informed me, it's actually been around for over 10,000 years. Turns out Teba and Tulin's great ancestor used this bow to fight and protect Hyrule. So it only makes sense if I'm to perfectly replicate this bow, and give it the respect it deserves, I need to use the best materials that can be found.
Link has never had a problem providing them to me or Teba to use to craft the bow. He...seems to have a lot them on hand. Many times I've questioned how he's found so much of a rare material, and why he was so eager to give them away like green rupees. I don't know if I should be happy that I get to keep remaking the Great Eagle Bow, or if I should be scolding Link for breaking it so much.
Not that I could stay mad at him for long though, it's really hard to stay mad at that little guy. After a while his antics start to grow on you. I can see why Teba's fond of him, and why Tulin loves to be around him.

Did you ever play wingman for Teba around Saki?
Ah, love in the air, nothing quite compares to it.
I never expected to be the wingman for Teba, but sometimes, fate has a funny way of bringing us into the roles we never thought we’d play.
I remember the day Teba approached me with that familiar mix of excitement and anxiety written all over his face. As one of the finest archers in the village, he had faced down countless monsters and challenges. But the mere thought of wooing Saki? That had him shaking in his feathers. We had been friends for years, and I could tell how much Saki meant to him. Despite her gentle demeanour, she had a spirit as fiery as a blazing campfire, and her laughter and warmth could melt the snow from the highest peaks.
I had convinced Teba to invite Saki to his roost. I knew that if there was a chance for him to make an impression, it would be during a relaxed setting like this. No prying eyes, no one to butt in at the worst moments. This was the time for him to truly express himself. I even went the extra mile to do his hair, and make him as presentable as I possibly could.
As I played the role of the supportive wingman, it was hard to not notice Teba pacing nervously, his feathers ruffling slightly as he rehearsed what he wanted to say. It was endearing and slightly amusing to see my friend so flustered. I often encouraged him to be himself. Saki already liked him, it was just a matter of Teba showing her how he truly felt about her.
When Saki arrived, I had to admit the atmosphere shifted instantly. She was radiant, her laughter infectious, and her energy lit up the room. It was clear Teba was smitten, but he needed a little nudge. At many times steered the conversation towards him. A bit of playful banter here there, I encouraged Teba to join in, reminding him that this was a time for connection.
Throughout the evening, I tried to create moments for them to share. The two of them shared some laughs, and I could see the tension slowly fading from Teba's shoulders. He began to engage more, and with each passing minute, the connection between them grew stronger.
As the night wore on, I noticed the subtle glances they exchanged and the way Saki’s eyes sparkled when she spoke to Teba. It was heart-warming to witness, and I could feel the joy bubbling inside me. By the end of the evening, they were sharing stories and laughter like old friends. It took some time, but Teba finally mustered the courage to actually tell Saki how he truly felt about her.
I realized that playing wingman wasn’t just about orchestrating moments, it was about being there for a friend and encouraging him to embrace his feelings. Watching Teba and Saki together, I felt a warmth in my heart, knowing that I had played a role, however big or small in their budding romance.
In the end, Teba did woo Saki, and their love story blossomed beautifully. As for me? I still hold onto that night in Rito Village as a cherished memory. A constant reminder of what happens when friendship, support, and a little bit of courage come together.
Who knew that being a wingman could lead to such a wonderful adventures.

Has your friendship with Teba ever been tested? Did you argue a lot as fletchlings or did you get along with him?
Of course, no friendship is ever perfect.
The thing about friendships is that there's always ups and downs. You can have some of your best moments with an individual, but at the same time, you'll also have moments where you'll be at each others throats, and say things to each other that you'll regret saying. It happens within all friendships, Teba and I are no exception.
We've had plenty of arguments over the years. Sometimes about pretty mundane things, like being dragged into one's antics, or our opposing opinions on what kind of bow is better to use. Other times about serious things, like how Teba speaks with others, or how his actions negatively affect his family.
But if there was a time our friendship was truly tested, then it would have to be when Rito Village was dealing with the issue regarding Vah Medoh. Of all the times we've had arguments, this was the most serious, and could have ended very badly.
Vah Medoh shot me out the sky. I was heavily injured, my daughter Molli was worried sick, and despite the harsh reality of the situation, Teba still decided to try and confront it alone, in a suicidal train of thought, that I could never comprehend.
Teba was being stubborn, reckless, and above all that selfish. He was thinking aboout our people, but he wasn't thinking about his family. His wife Saki and his son Tulin. He wasn't thinking about the ramifications if he died. All he could think about was fighting Vah Medoh, and bringing it down. Many words were said between us, pretty harsh things, and we parted ways on not so good terms, as I stayed behind recovering, and he went ahead with his suicide mission.
Every time I think of that moment, I always thank the stars Link showed up when he did, and went out of his way to help Teba, knowing full well he'd be risking his life. Despite the impossible odds, thanks to him, Teba made it out alive with only a singed thigh. It could've been a lot worse. He could have died, and I'd be mourning a friend I couldn't convince to not go through with his reckless plan.
Sure we'll have our disagreements, and we won't always see eye to eye. But despite that, Teba will always mean a lot to me, and Teba shares the sentiment.

How did you and Teba meet?
How Teba and I met?
Well I suppose it wouldn't be any surprise, when I say we met in Rito Village. As fledglings it would be highly unlikely that we'd be able to go far from Rito Village, and it's not at all uncommon for fledglings to interact with each other.
So in this case, it would be more appropriate to detail when we became more familiar with each other during our youth, to what we are now.
To start things of, the Flight Range is where we became more acquainted with each other. Over time it became a place for young Rito to learn and practice with each other. It's the natural gathering place for birds of a young age, and during my youth I spent a good amount of time there.
As fledglings, both Teba and I were in the same stage of development, learning the fundamental skills of flight and archery. We would have been practicing take-offs, landings, and navigating the air currents.
We always met repeatedly there, fostering a mix of friendly competition and camaraderie among us. We would be comparing our progress, encouraging each other, and potentially even having playful races or aerial games.
Teba and I were close in age, considering our current positions as young promising fledglings in Rito Village. We were learning how to do things at the same time, and as we as we got better at them, we also became more familiar with each other.
I can remember struggling with a particular maneuver, and Teba offered helpful tips or encouragement. This ended up sparking a conversation and the beginning of our friendship.
Teba was a natural when it came to demonstrating his talent and skill, and I was quite impressed at his display. Funny enough, now that I think about it, my level headed and supportive nature might have appealed to the stern and more focused mindset of Teba. That and he likely also took an interest in my family's business of crafting high quality bows.
Over time we bonded over shared embarrassing moments, be that with our flirting, watching each other fumble at attractive the opposite gender, misjudging a landing and bumping into each other, or struggling against a strong gust of wind. In in a blink of an eye we went from simple acquaintances, to the best of friends.
I'll admit, Teba can still be rough around the edges sometimes, stubborn, and incredibly reckless. But despite all of that, I couldn't have asked for a better friend.

I've been looking to get into archery recently. I've never done it before, but I am reasonably strong and a good flier. What kind of bow would you recommend I start out with?
So you’ve decided to take up archery have you? Well your in for a fun venture.
As someone who’s been soaring through the skies in Rito Village, you likely have the physical strength and hand-eye coordination that will serve you well in this exciting new journey. While it might feel a bit daunting to step into this new world, choosing the right bow can make all the difference in your journey from novice to proficient archer.
First things first, since you mention being reasonably strong, that’s a great advantage. Your upper body strength will help when it comes to drawing the bowstring. For beginners, or more specifically in your case, a Swallow Bow is often recommended. It’s versatile, easy to use, and great for those starting out who already have the decent strength in their arms. The design allows for a smooth draw and gives you a good sense of the motions involved in archery. A fledgling bow, would be to fragile for your build.
As you get more familiar with archery, I should mention that size is key. Generally the right bow length will depend on your height and draw length. If you’re on the taller side, a longer bow may be necessary to ensure comfort and efficiency. In any case it's always good to experiment to ensure you find the perfect fit, a mismatched could spell disaster especially in a life or death fight.
Another crucial factor is draw weight. This is the amount of force needed to pull back the bowstring. Since you’re strong and an experienced flier, you might even find you can handle a slightly higher draw weight as you become more comfortable with the Swallow bow.
Lastly, as I'm sure your well aware of this already, consider practicing in the Flight Range. You'll be surround by eager archers just like yourself who can provide you with support, advice, and camaraderie. Kaneli would be more than happy to point you in the right direction, since he retired from his role as Rito Elder, he's been doing an amazing job guiding the next generation.
Teba, myself, Tulin, Link and Revali, should we be available, would also be more than happy to show you a thing a to. Teba's spent a lot of time there with his son in the past, and trained him there alongside Link, so I can vouch for them on that front. Revali's also a very talented archer, and while I haven't seen him teach, I'm confident there are some things you can learn from him. While I may not be as an archer as the others, if you need advice or inquires on your bow, I'd be happy to offer my assistance.
Starting archery is about more than just choosing the right equipment. It’s about embracing the journey and enjoying the process. With your strength and a willingness to learn, I'm sure you’ll be hitting targets in no time.
Happy shooting, and may your arrows fly true.

Good afternoon, Harth
You may ignore/burn this letter if you wish if it sounds too personal to you.
I was curious to know if the right individual were to come into your life. Do you think you could fall in love again? I have heard in some Rito Cultures that it's one mate for life or that it's very rare for Rito to fall in love a second time.
Why hello there, Good afternoon to you.
Since you had the courtesy to hand me this letter in person, knowing the subject could potentially be personal, it's only right I keep the letter in question. So no, I shall not burn it, but keep it as a reminder.
For one thing, you're right, Rito's do mate for life, there is no in between. Once that relationship has been established, it's till death to us part. Through all the good times and the bad, we stay together through it all. At least that's what I thought it would be like when I married my wife, but...well...as you know she left me and Molli behind.
Personally I don't think I'd be able to love again, at least not in the way I loved my first wife. I'm sure there'll be someone out there who'll be interested in me, and I may very well be interested in her. I'm sure we'll get along just fine. We may even fall in love. But the memory of my first marriage will always be present. A nagging memory that will always be flaring up within the deepest recesses of my mind.
I must admit, whenever I see Teba with his with Saki, and their son Tulin, it does hurt to be reminded of what I lost. But nonetheless I'm always happy for them, and will always be there to support them, should they seek aid, because that what a wingman does.
Despite how things ended up, the reality is that my first love is the reason why I have my beloved Molli, and I wouldn't change that for anything. I love my daughter, and would never replace her, and right now she needs me, just as much as I need her. She's been through a lot despite her age, and the last thing I want to do, is put her through more hardships than she has already endured.
Saying all of that...I will not rule out the possibility of falling in love again. The future is uncertain, and times are ever changing. I've come to accept that unexpected things can happen in one's life, myself included. Many bizarre things have happened all across, the kind of things that no one saw coming. With that in mind, I've prepared myself for that outcome should it come to pass.
Will I fall in love again. Will I meet that special individual? Only time will tell. Regardless I will focus on giving Molli the best life I can give her. As her father I can't let her down.

You know I'm surprised Harth, of all the people I'd expect to give Revali the truth bomb, I never expected it to be you. I would've thought Teba or Tulin to be the one's to give Revali the reality check, considering how brutally honest they can be. I have to respect that.
I don't think it was matter of if it was going to happen, only when. Teba, Tulin, Kass, Saki, and myself, we all appreciate Link for what he has done for the Rito people, and how he's effected our lives.
Teba because of the positive effect Link has had on his family. Link ultimately saving his life, and helping to nurture Tulin into the young warrior he is today. They've spent a lot of time together, I can say for certain that no one within the village knows Link better than they do, other than a certain blue bard. When Link comes to the village, he'll always be there, always spending time with them, and always being reassured by them of his value, always being told how much he means to them. Not to mention Saki could very well have been a widow, had it not been for Link's arrival, something I still shudder to think out.
Kass also knows Link, surprisingly very well, even before he got to meet him in person. Turns out while Link was travelling all over Hyrule by himself, fighting endless battles to reverse what the Calamity had done. Kass was always there to greet him at various points. Offering him guidance, a friendly face to share his problems with, a warm presence that Link could trust even during his darkest moments. I suspect Kass is probably a major reason why Link was able to keep going, even when he had no one to rely on. Kass became a confident for Link, there's things about him that he only he knows, and he took great pride in his work. Heck he even taught Link how to play the accordion at some point. Link's also very well acquainted with his family to. Aside from helping them with with their troubles, he's also cooked for them on several occasions, simply because he enjoyed putting a smile on their faces.
In time I'm sure any one of them would have spoken out against Revali, it was simply who decided to take that step first, when the situation felt appropriate for them.
I suspect if Teba had been the one to reach that point, it would have been quite brutal, even for his standards. He's naturally blunt, and he never minces his words, he's not one to show restraint when defending someone who he highly respects. I'm sure if I hadn't said what I did then, Teba would've been the first one to speak out.
I suspect Tulin would be similar but to a lesser agree. He's a good kid, and Link's humbleness has certainly rubbed of on him. But he's a lot more perceptive than he let's on, and has never once been shy when it came to expressing himself, and telling others how he truly feels about them. He's never wasted a second when it came to talking about his latest adventure with Link, and it wouldn't take long for to him to speak out, should his role model get constantly belittled in front of him.
Saki would probably try to do it in a way to avoid tensions rising, but if that fails she wouldn't hesitate to be confrontational. Her gentle demeanour does wonders to hide just how scary she can be when she's upset.
Kass has a way of making sure his words have weight, without even so much as raising his voice. I've rarely, if ever, have seen him angry, and yet his words have always been powerful. It would take a lot for him to reach his breaking point. But if he did, I'm sure that would be one of Revali's biggest regrets.
I take no pleasure in people's misery, nor do I take pleasure in using harsh words, but I acknowledge and understand the necessity of it, as well as when to do so. The others also understand this.
The truth can be painful, and reality can often be harsh, but you can't deny it, nor can you dismiss it. Revali may have been revered by the Rito in the past, but in the present, things aren't quite like that. Whether it was fate, or by chance, Link ended becoming someone who the Rito's have grown to deeply admire.
Revali should not regard Link as a barrier to acceptance, nor should he compare himself to him. I hope he discovers in time that he doesn't have to be Link's superior to be accepted.

How do you feel about Kaneli handing off the position of Elder to Teba?
When I reflect on Kaneli's decision to hand over the position of Rito Elder to Teba, I find myself brimming with a mix of emotions. I must admit, I feel a sense of pride for Teba and what this transition signifies for the Rito people. It’s not just about the title, it’s about the qualities that Teba embodies and the hope he brings to their future.
When I think about Kaneli, I am reminded of his wisdom and strength as a leader. Sure he can be bit airheaded sometimes, and quite the blabber mouth, but he has navigated our people through storms, both literal and metaphorical, always prioritizing the welfare of the Rito. As he handed off the mantle, it’s clear that he sees something in Teba that promises continued growth and resilience for our community. Kaneli's decision resonates with a profound trust in Teba, to lead the Rito to a brighter future.
Teba, in my eyes, was always the perfect choice, it was just a matter of getting to the point where he would be ready to handle the responsibility. He has consistently shown his dedication to our values and traditions. His bravery and commitment were evident, especially when he stood up against threats to our home. His fearlessness and unwavering spirit are also undoubtedly appealing traits. Not to mention he's very proficient in a multitude of different skills. However his mindset wasn't quite developed yet, which is why he wasn't given the title until after the incident with Vah Medoh.
There were still things he needed to learn. Things he needed to experience before he was ready, and I can't help but find it ironic he learnt these lessons from Link of all people. Someone who always seemed compelled to do his duty, and follow orders to the letter.
As Teba spent more time with Link after the Vah Medoh incident, he became more level headed. More compassionate to other feelings. More aware of others emotional states. Open to accepting aid instead of doing things alone, and most importantly, more considerate of his own life, as well as how his life impacts others. Lessons that Link ended up teaching Tulin as well. Now it seems Teba's trying to instil those very same lessons into Link.
Teba represents a new era for the Rito. He embodies a blend of tradition and innovation, something we desperately need as we face the uncertain future. He understands the importance of our roots but also recognizes the need to adapt and grow. This ability to balance respect for our past with an eye toward the future is a rare trait, one that is essential for any leader today.
I'm optimistic about the new ideas he’ll bring and the fresh perspective he offers. It's comforting to know that our community can evolve while still honouring the traditions that make us who we are. Teba’s leadership feels like a natural progression, and that reassures me in these ever changing times.
I also admire the way Teba connects with the younger Rito and a certain particular Hylian who's more reckless than them. He resonates with them, understanding their aspirations and concerns. In many ways, he bridges the gap between the old and the new, ensuring that the Rito’s rich heritage is honoured while also encouraging growth and evolution in others.
Kaneli's decision to pass on the position of Rito Elder to Teba was a wise choice, and sensible one too. It’s a choice that signifies trust, growth, and a promising future for our people. Teba deserves this opportunity not only because of his proven dedication but also due to the fresh energy and vision he brings to the role.
As I look up at the skies, I know the Rito are ready to soar even higher under Teba's leadership, and I couldn’t be more intrigued to see where this journey takes us.

I WILL CUT OFF YOUR HAIR IN YOUR SLEEP.
Hmm? Is that meant to be a threat?
Well you're more than welcome to try, but should you be bold enough to make the attempt, I suppose I should mention a couple things, so your aware of what your getting yourself into.
Rito Village is heavily guarded throughout the day and night. So you'll find it very hard to simply sneak in. Not mention even if by some miracle you did, you'll find it very difficult to get out, once everyone's made aware of your presence. Which I assure you will definitely happen.
A lone Yiga clan member suddenly popping up in Rito Village, won't end very well. And by that I mean you'll be filled to brim with a large assortment of arrows, shoot by incredibly capable Rito Warriors such as Teba, Tulin, and Revali, fired by exceptionally powerful bows. I would know, because I'm the one who made them.
While my profession is that of Rito Bowyer, I am also a Rito Warrior who's more than capable of defending myself, should the situation arrive. So you'll find me a lot more trouble than I'm worth, and should you frighten my daughter in the attempt, I'll see to it that you regret the day you ever set foot in her.
I can just cut my own hair. It'll regrow naturally. Making your attempt and entire reason for invading Rito village completely pointless.
Link will undoubtedly hear about your attempt to invade our home, and storm your hideout, dealing with you all, just like how he did the last time he invaded your hideout.
So knowing all of this, do you still intend to go through with your threat? Or will you have a moment of clarity and realize how much of a bad idea your plan actually is? Either way everyone within Rito Village has already been alerted.

What's the scariest thing you ever experienced? Other then nearly dying to Vah Medoh while trying to attack it, if that was your first answer.
As I sit down to think about some of the scariest moments experienced, I can’t help but chuckle at the absurdity of it all. Sure, nearly dying while battling Vah Medoh with Teba was an adrenaline-fueled experience I’ll never forget. But there’s another moment that stands out even more vividly in my memory. The aftermath of the Upheaval and the perpetual blizzard that enveloped Rito Village.
I saw the fear in the eyes of the Rito as they struggled to cope with the unyielding snow that choked their home. It was a chilling sight, one I would never forget.
The Upheaval had brought chaos, reshaping not only the land but the lives of its inhabitants. I could see the impact of the blizzard first-hand. The once vibrant village, alive with laughter and song, now felt like a haunting echo of its former self. The Rito people, known for their resilience and spirit, were grappling with the harsh realities of an unrelenting winter. Their feathered gradually forming shivered against the biting cold, and their faces were etched with worry as they struggled to find food and warmth.
Seeing my people so distressed was frightening in a way that transcended physical danger. The spectre of hopelessness loomed large, and I felt a gnawing fear for our future. The relentless cold not only affected our livelihoods but also threatened our very way of life. As I interacted with my people, I was struck by how their eyes, once bright with the joy of flying freely through the skies, were now dimmed by anxiety and despair. Things weren't easy.
It made me realize that the true horror lay not just in the battles fought or the monsters encountered, but in witnessing the aftermath of devastation. The Rito, who once soared high above the cliffs, were now confined to their village, held captive by the icy grip of the blizzard. They were struggling to adapt to a new normal, facing challenges that would test their spirit and resolve. The fear of losing their identity, their culture, and their home was palpable.
I ventured out into the frozen wilderness alongside other Rito Warriors, searching for resources and allies, always reminding myself that the true spirit of Hyrule lies in its people and their resilience.
Teba had his work cut out for him as Rito Elder, and his duties prevented him from flying out to investigate the problem himself. It didn't help that Tulin had become arrogant with his skills, opting to do things himself, essentially making the same mistake Teba did several years back with Vah Medoh. I'm sure the young ball of feathers was causing Teba and Saki a lot of headaches.
Seeing Link again after his mysterious disappearance helped ease my tensions tremendously. But even then, I noticed things were of about him, particularly the fact that one of his arms, was alien looking, and it looked like he just came back from the deepest pits of hell. I felt sorry for the guy. I couldn't begin to imagine what he went he went through.
Still, Link's arrival like many years ago, really lifted all of our spirits when all was said and done. He set Tulin straight, after his phase of arrogance, his aid allowed them to both deal with the creature that caused the never-ending blizzard, and Tulin awakened as the Sage of Wind. After that whole ordeal I made it my personal mission to help aid Link within the Looking Landing, if Link was going to go out of his way, to help everyone in need, it's only fitting that I do the same for him.
In retrospect, the scariest thing I’ve ever experienced wasn’t just the threat of danger to myself or the chilling encounter with Vah Medoh, but also the collective struggle of the Rito, facing a future filled with uncertainty. It was a reminder that in Hyrule, danger often lurks where you least expect it, and we have no choice but to face them head-on.
In the end, I learned that while fear may grip us in moments of despair, it is the courage to stand together and face the unknown that truly defines us.

Hi harth! I love your hair, how do you do it?
Well I'm always pleased to hear that some find my hair attractive, saying that, it is worth mentioning every Rito has their charms, be that the colour of their feathers, their eyes, their hair, or their facial markings.
As for how I do my hair, and keep it in good shape. First I take a good dip in the hot springs. One to get a good soak, and two to clean of all the dirt while moisturising it. A lot of Rito's do this, since some of their hair to smooth, so it can be braided properly.
After that I used a fine toothed comb, to keep it well straightened out, I use my wings to braid the remaining strands of hair on the front sides of my face.
Once I do all of that, you have my very recognizable, and iconic look. Of course If someone else is happy do to my hair, I let them do it. It's always nice to receive a helping wing. I've even done Teba's hair a couple times.
It's not uncommon for other Rito's to help each other when it comes to stylising our hair. It's also how Link's hair gets stylised when he comes to Rito Village.

You used to be a Rito warrior right? But left to run your family buisiness as a bowyer. Was that always your dream or did you actually want to be a warrior but went into a crafting career when yo had your kid because it was safer?
Life works in very funny ways. Sometimes people want a certain thing, only to end up getting something else entirely. Other times people walk a certain a path hoping it leads to where they want to go, only for them to end up in a completely different destination from where they had originally planned to go, as things happened along the way to change their course. Things happen for a reason, it's not to surprising if life doesn't go the way you want it to go.
However in my case, taking over the family business and becoming the bowyer of Rito Village was also going to happen, that path was set. But even with that being the case, that didn't mean I couldn't veer of that path, and change how I got to that final destination.
Instead of just learning how to craft bows when I was fledgling, I took up an interest in becoming a Rito Warrior alongside my friend Teba, while also honing my crafting ability. I got to experience things that I would have never had the pleasure of experiencing if I had simply taken the narrow path. I got to met like minded individuals. See a different world. Experience different kinds of struggles. Good or bad, I'm happy that I didn't allow myself to simply live an uneventful life.
In hindsight it was good thing I went the more scenic route. I'm now in a position to where I can defend myself, Molli, and the village should the situation arrive. I'm also more physically capable than most Rito's, so all that training did pay of.
Teba also didn't go the straight and narrow path either. While he's a very talented archer and flier, one of the best Rito Warrior's out their no doubt, he's also a talented bowyer like myself.
While I may not be a full on Rito Warrior, I'm satisfied with how my life turned out. I've found great joy in making bows for others, and funny enough, I've found myself enjoying the many times I've restored the Great Eagle Bow whenever Link breaks it.
We all have our place in this world. Sometimes we have to find it ourselves. Other times it simply comes to us.

Hi Mr Harth!! Do you have any funny stories about you and Teba's escapades you can share?
Well now, that's quite bold question to ask me. Looking to get an embarrassing story or two out of me? Well I don't mind, we could all use a bit of laugher in our lives to brighten our days.
So let's see now, this was from our younger years. It all started, as most bad ideas do, someone biting of more than they can chew. Teba, never one to back down from a challenge, was confident about how he was going to be the best archer Rito Village had ever seen in his generation, better than his father, and aiming to be better than the reputation of Revali. Then you have me, who even as a fledgling had a more level head, but could still ended up getting dragged into one's mess.
Now, the Great Eagle Bow was a sacred weapon for the Rito people, usually displayed high above the village in the Kaneli's roost, far out of reach of any curious fledgling. It was a symbol of Rito valour, the pinnacle of achievement, and of course, strictly off-limits. But to the ears of a young, impulsive Rito like Teba, "off-limits" might as well have meant "irresistible." He wanted sneak of with it, so he could practice with it. A bow that not even fully grown adults to use.
Now despite my initial scepticism, I was now reluctantly intrigued. I had always possessed a certain admiration for Teba's reckless abandon, even if I knew it usually led to trouble.
The next thing we knew, we were enacting our plan. Teba, with his slightly larger wingspan, managed to scramble up some precarious ledges while I acted as a lookout, nervously chirping warnings. We snuck into the elder's roost, past a snoring guard bird, who seriously really needed a better nap schedule, and there, gleaming under a single sunbeam, was the Great Eagle Bow. It was much larger than either of us had imagined, almost comical in its size compared to our fledgling frames.
Teba brimming with pride, lunged for it. He grabbed the bow by the middle, intending to hoist it. Predictably instead the immense weight of the bow, which was designed for a fully grown Rito warrior, him tumbling backward, flailing with the bow clutched tightly in his grasp. I guess he realized them, the bow was a lot heavier than it looked. Yet despite knowing this, somehow I still tried to help him in his antics.
We both struggled to lift the unwieldy bow, finally managing to get it balanced somewhat precariously on Teba's back. He waddled like a tipsy Cucco towards the edge of the sanctuary...and promptly lost his balance again. This time, I fell, the bow tumbling end over end and smacking me square in the face.
I guess in that moment the winds decided we needed to be taught a lesson, because the lose of gravity caused the both us to bash into a nearby table, sending a cascade of armaments and arrows onto on the floor, which to no one's surprised resulted in a lot noise, leaving us with a thin layer of mortification, as we now saw the prized weapon of the Rito, cleanly snapped in two in front of us, each of holding piece.
It was then the elder awakened by the commotion walked in. I can distinctly remember his face being a perfect picture of bewildered amusement, his feathers ruffled in a way that suggested he’d just been woken from a very good nap.
He looked at the us, two dust covered fledglings, a bunch of armaments and arrow spread out all across the ground, and the colossal bow snapped cleaning in two, by us the culprits.
I'll admit I was prepared to fly aware and leave Teba to his fate, by the Elder simply just sighed, shaking his head. He didn't even bother scolding us,he probably already knw a lecture would just go in one ear and out the other. Especially in Teba's case.
The punishment? Let's just I had to learn how to fix a the Great Eagle Bow a lot earlier than what my father had intended, and was also grounded from doing anything, until I had fixed it to perfection.
As for Teba? Well...he wanted to be the best archer in Rito Village...and the Elder made sure he fully understood what that meant. I've seen Rito's be exhausted from training, but seeing Teba after that was something else. Sigh Good times.

Hope this isn't rude to ask - but what happened to your wife? I know you have a daughter but I've never noticed you have a partner in your roost.
Well now...this question was bound to pop up sooner or later. Guess it was only a matter of time.
My wife...for lack of a better term, simply decided to leave me and Molli behind. I'm not quite what her reasons were, even today I still wonder why she decided to just...leave. Leaving me, leaving Rito Village, and leaving our daughter without a mother. But when these things happen, we Rito's do what we do best, continue riding the winds, and always looking forward. I couldn't really dwell on these things for Molli's sake, and my own.
Molli didn't have her mother in her life, but that doesn't mean I can't support her, or be there for her like any good father should. I needed to be strong for her, and in many ways I also needed to remain strong, so I could continue aiding those within Rito Village. My profession does have a vital role to play when it comes to the wellbeing of my home.
But despite all the shake ups, and loss, it hasn't been to bad. Teba and his family have always been there to support me emotionally, as well as Kass's family to. They've all made sure Molli never felt alone, and she's had plenty of interaction from the other fledglings her age. Tulin has also kept her company when he's able to, despite his busy training schedule.
Then we have Link, who I can best describe as a miracle worker. I don't know what he did, but Molli really seems to enjoy his company. I've honestly never seen her so proactive until he came along. I always catch her making arrows for him, excited that he'll take them, and use them for whatever he decides to use them for. She's also told me Link has gone out of his way, to help her with her creative indulgences. Looking back, Link really seemed to have that kind of immensely positive impact on all the fledglings, especially Tulin. Hylian or not, he sees him as family, and in many ways, I guess I do to.
I'll admit, I do miss my wife, and I do wish she was here to see how things have changed. But even in her absence. I've been happy, and I have all those that looked out for me to thank for that. I resolved myself to not be consumed by the past, and now I look forward to the happy times to come.
Wherever she is, I hope she's managing on her own. But I'm doing fine, and while I take no pleasure in saying this, considering everything that's happened, it's probably best we stay separated.
