that line literally fucked my brain up. I didn’t even realize that really, he could have saved Newt had he stayed behind until he said it out loud. Like, I thought that they could have saved him if things were a little different, if Teresa managed to find the cure just a bit earlier, or if Newt stayed behind with Gally and took the syringe right away (which fuck it just occurred to me?? he literally could’ve potentially lived if he wasn’t so eager to find Minho). 

part of why Newt’s death in the movie is more devastating, in a way, than in the books, is that they were so close. so so so close to saving him. they had an actual chance. but they were just a smudge too late. im so sad.

I know know if I’m the only one who feels this way but I only every hear cc she experiences homophobia cos the shit people say about her books but I have never heard her talk about homophobia that actual gay people experience

I’m having a hard time understanding what this means, but I guess you wanna say that she only talks about homophobia in her books and not homophobia in real life? I feel like the homophobia in fiction is supposed to be a very direct parallel to the homophobia in real life, and it’s easier to address because the characters committing and experiencing it are her own, so she has an emotional insight into it. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. 

Perhaps she feels like it’s not her place to be very loud about it, cause she’s not a part of the community herself. I don’t really know what she’s up to these days cause i’m blocked on her twitter/tumblr but I’ve never really seen her use any of her social media platforms to address lgbt-related issues that need exposure (example: she never acknowledged the Orlando shooting) which, for me personally, is just a little ugly from a woman who cashes her m/m ship by writing porn about them. like. if you claim that you’re such a great ally, then you can honestly just tweet from time to time about a charity that supports homeless lgbt kids or a country that kills/imprisons gay people just to spread awareness, you know. idk. idc.

• get randomly assigned as your lab partner for a whole semester would definitely be Thomas cause come to think of it, he’s been working for WICKED basically his entire life and I expect that means he’s smart? He’s a little bit of a reckless tool at times (all the time, really) and I bet he’s a panicky, messy sort of worker but we’d get things done with only a couple of mental breakdowns and caffeine-induced nightly brainstorming sessions. He’d bring me french fries when he came over for work and I’d let him borrow some of my fantasy books which, with a little help from me, he’d discover that he enjoys greatly (◡‿◡˶)/ ･:*:･。.

• get trapped with on a broken elevator for ten hours honestly? I feel like Minho would break the emergency button and then all the other buttons on the elevator trying to get it to work and knowing me I’d just sit there quietly and wait for him to accept the inevitable and calm down™ but of course he’d then fling himself around the elevator a little and freak me out and then tease me about freaking out and then try to coax me to climb on his shoulders and try the ventilation shaft which I would refuse so he’d just drop down next to me and be a salty ball of sarcasm for a few hours cause his whole day was going to be ruined and his track practice and his boyfriend and college yada yada yada, but after a while somehow we would end up having meaningful deep ass conversations about everything until we’re rescued

• get as my employee trainer for my new job at McDonalds that’s Newt cause 1. I can imagine him restraining himself from cursing cause i’m so bad at being a functioning human being 2. being extremely patient through the process of the mentoring nevertheless 3. having ridiculous (sometimes slightly rude) nicknames for all the crew 4. getting extremely distracted whenever his boyfriend Minho is around thus giving me slack time 5. the role of a leader just suits him so well it was meant to be im sorry i dont make the rules

• get randomly assigned as your lab partner for a whole semester I mean Snape. no question here. he’d prolly bitch @ me 24/7 because of my “abominable skills and lack of basic logical thinking” and do all the job himself (not for my lack of trying to help). maybe at one point or another i’d grow on him and he’d start being less of a douche? if im lucky 

• get trapped with on a broken elevator for ten hours for literally no particular reason Wormtail, i guess. I doubt I’d manage to have any meaningful conversation with him and it’d probably be the most dull ten hours of my entire life. come to think of it, he’d probably murder me or something lmao. it’s just the other two characters fit into the categories so well I don’t wanna change them. 

• get as my employee trainer for my new job at McDonalds this is such a Lockart job cause he’d just boast about being the best employee for 5 successive months (even though I’d later find out from the crew that he doesn’t do shit but gets praised bc he’s good at pretending that he gets shit done).
