Question but how much do you know about the Kirby series? Because there's a certain blue fish from that series that kind of looks like Student (at least to me anyway)

I know a bit about the Kirby series, but I haven't played many of the games and am not that familiar with some of the deeper lore outside of what I've seen and heard from friends and mutuals.

The main games I've played are Kirby Superstar (the original SNES version), Kirby's Dream Course, Kirby 64, some Star Allies with bf (we got bored with it) and Forgotten Land (100%ed co-op with bf). I have recently been going through more of the series on NSO, however; I've completed DL1 and DL2, and I still need to play DL3 and Adventure on it.

As for Kine, yeah I can kinda see it and he's even got the funny colors in his palette lmao. Thank you for the ask!

oh mAN anon! these headcanons tho

angst time: Ruth, Graeme, and Clive’s daemons are malsettled because of the environments they grew up in (which they bond over, btw)

meaning, their daemons settled early and their forms aren’t necessarily fitting, but they’re beneficial to their personality

Graeme’s daemon Deymira (Dey) settled as a dormouse. smol, unassuming, can hide away easily. she can usually be found curled up in his shirt pocket, or on his shoulder if he’s feeling confrontational/curious

Clive’s daemon Tikara settled as a crested porcupine. in the words of my friend, they have a calm/chill mode and a “pls don’t fuck with” mode. she’s a bit more mature than Clive, and very careful about where her quills go

Ruth’s daemon [hitherto unnamed] is a female white-winged dove. Having already worried her father so much by having a daemon the same gender as her, Ruth’s daemon wanted to settle as something as inconspicuous as possible.

BUT DUDE OK HERE’S THE COOL PART:

When Paul ‘zaps’ each of the trio and ‘transfers all his knowledge via tactile psychokinetic bridge,’ he actually gives their daemons peace and, using alien evolution magic, allows their daemons to take their proper forms, one by one. Or, at least, the closest they’re able to!

Deymira goes from a dormouse to a wily little weasel.

Tikara goes from a crested porcupine to a spiny palm cockatoo.

And Ruth’s daemon, we think, goes from a dull dove to a colorful pink-necked green pigeon. Or quite possibly a cat. We’re not sure!

These headcanons also belong to my friend @consulting-queer of Carnation Books, so unfortunately if they don’t like my posting these, I’ll have to take them down. But thank you so so much for asking! These kids and their daemons are my lifeblood rn, you have no idea :’D

I don’t speak spanish, but from what I’m understanding you’re asking about this scene from a bunch of old sketch previews from a post I made in 2017?

Looking back at this old comic, even though I never fully posted it, it’s honestly pretty outdated with some of the interpretations I have for characters. And If anything’s to go by that off model 2017 J.J. there (which I hate looking at a lot lmao) it’s not up to my current art quality I’d like to have now. This would be a good redraw/rewrite candidate if I ever find the time/motivation 🤔

The game is fun and the blue birds themselves are cute! Very tall leggy birbs I like em! I imagine they’re supposed to be some kind of stork?

I personally don’t have a lot of headcanons for them or their captain otherwise , so if you have any I’d love to hear them!

I can at least post a little teaser for it~

YEP HELLO I am indeed still active! I haven't been posting here much lately since I've mainly been doing either personal art or project work that I can't post here (I will say that they're rad projects though!), but I do try and get some RH art out whenever I can because this series still mean a ton to me and I still love drawing for it, especially when it comes to the DJs 💛💙

What do you think about family dynamics between the humanoid rhythm heaven characters? :0

I guess that depends on what you mean by family dynamics here? Like do you mean if any of the characters are blood related at all, or how certain individuals are with their own families, or how they all work together as a group?

If the former, I don’t really see any of the humanoid rapper/DJ characters are blood related at all? Within their group, I think they all see each other as peers that all support each other in a world where rap/RnB/hip-hop/turntablism are genres that aren’t as accessible or popular as other kinds of music. None of them are like parent or sibling figures to the others; even MC Adore who has the potential to have the biggest mom-to-everyone energy doesn’t keep track of what sort of shenanigans anyone is up to or scolds them or whatever. They’re all adults, they can take care of themselves, and if one of them needs a boost then any one of them is more than glad to reach out and help however they can.

That being said I had an early concept of DJ Yellow and Yellow Rapper being non-blood related cousins, but I’m not as into the ideas as much as I once was? It’s something I still toy with but have not fully committed on the idea lol. Here’s a quick example of how I originally interpreted their connection with the tree snagged from another game. This is used as a loose example and doesn’t mean that DJ Yellow would have siblings or anything for the record.

As for like, their actual families? That’s not something I think about or go into a lot to be honest. 8Tc They’re all probably on at least.... decent terms at minimum with their families? The most I have is that Student comes from a family of fishers who helped him get his fishmonger job when he first moved to the city and that they genuinely thought he was gonna get a girlfriend before he ended up meeting and falling for DJ Yellow lol.

I don’t know if that answered your question or not oops. This is how I interpret the rapper characters, and if others have different ideas for their own versions of the characters then that’s fine too!

Hello it’s Tapswitch on the main 2016 me cursed me to use for asks for all eternity but I’m here to ask—are your versions of the RAPMEN dating, or are they just bros?

Honestly, I’m always flipflopping between the Rap Men being an actual romantic couple, or them being like... non-romantic life partners? Like they’re so close and have been through and done so much with each other that they’re basically a couple in everything but name if that make sense 8Tc For example they’d sleep in the same bed together and have pet names and say I love you to each other all the time, but they wouldn’t say they’re going out on a date together or get angry/jealous if one of them tells the other (read: if Red tells Yellow) that he’s gonna go hookup with somebody that night.

I guess my answer is, in my personal headcanons, the Rap Men are life partners that are somewhere between being romantic and non-romantic lmao. If other people see them more as boyfriends or a brOTP or whatever I'm also all for that 👍

Why does JJ call Yellow a shark?

It’s actually related to the headcanon real names I have for DJ Yellow and Student. They prefer using their stage handle names in public and only a select few know their real names, kinda like how some online content creators prefer using their nickname when meeting others in person in lieu of their real name. This is the case for everyone in the rapper group.

J.J. calls DJ Yellow a shark as an insult that’s also a jab at what his actual first name is.

Uwaahh thank you so much it makes me happy to hear that 😭 It still bewilders me to know that people enjoy all the silly Rhythm Heaven stuff I put out there, so I really mean it when I say thank you ;//v//;

As for having Pop Singer in DJ Story, I don’t think she’ll really make any major appearances as a character. I know she’ll appear in the retelling of one of the official comics I have in mind, but outside of that she’ll mainly be for cameos since the focus of the story is very much elsewhere.
