I am perfectly okay (quite ecstatically happy, actually) with people doing whatever they like with my fics – whether that be translations, fanart, cosplay, AMVs, whatever. You do not need to ask permission - I will always say yes. All I ask is three things. One: please credit me as the author (and a link to the original story would be fantastic). Two: please let me know so that I can check it out and thank you profusely! And three: something I hate to have to mention, but please never do anything to make money out of these works. Obviously, Hetalia does not belong to me – it belongs to the amazing Hidekaz Himaruya, who is incredibly awesome for giving us such fantastic characters to play with. :-D

MY STORIES

THE VERAVERSE

The Veraverse is a Hetalia World War Two AU, of fics involving different characters and pairings, all living within the same time period and all interconnected in some way. As each story in the series is named after and loosely based on the lyrics of a wartime song sung by Vera Lynn, I flippantly dubbed it the ‘Veraverse.’ The name has sort of stuck, however. This series is, at its core, about the power of love over war. It's about the real reasons people fight, and the real reasons they survive. It's about finding something beautiful in the midst of something ugly and evil. But overall, although I hope there is more to these stories than just romance, they are essentially about love.

Don’t expect every fic to be updated quickly. These stories intertwine, and will be published simultaneously, and it may be a while between chapters for each specific story. Most can be read separately, however a few will require that you read at least one other story in the series to make sense of it (e.g. ‘My Echo’ does not make much sense unless you also read ‘Lily of the Lamplight.’) Rest assured, they will all be completed.

A rare story with the characters as nations, and my very first posted fanfiction. I had just discovered Hetalia when I wrote this, and loved the random humour of it, but also wondered what it could be like if it was a more serious take on the Second World War. Also, it has always been blatantly obvious to me that Germany and Italy are in love with each other. Like, duh.

Gallipoli Australia and New Zealand

Another nation story from me, about a conflict embedded in the consciousness of every Australian. We haven’t been given much to go on with Australia’s characterisation, so I went with my gut instinct – he’s anti-authority, he’s an easily broken optimist, and he cares deeply about his men. Gallipoli shattered the romantic idea of war for this country. I think it would have shattered Australia, too.

Alone on Christmas? (USUK)

(A/N): This is really short. Pretty much just a drabble. Only 399 words. I’ll try to have a real Christmas USUK oneshot up soon. Yes, the little brother is Sealand.

I stared at him across the mall. I recognized the man from work. Arthur Kirkland. It had to be fate. Why else would we both be in the mall at the same exact time?

Oh. I realized as he got in line. He just brought his little brother to see the mall santa. I let out a loud sigh as I sipped at my water. I wiped my sweaty palms on my pants. I was the mall santa. I was going to have to go out there in five minutes, and I was hella nervous. I had to make kids believe that they would get what they wished for, even though I wasn’t fully sure, myself. Plus, I was going to have to not stare at Arthur for the entire time that I was up there. I would have to use all of my restraint.

I asked all of the kids the same question. “What do you want for Christmas this year?”

I got very differing answers from them. Someone wished for a pony. Someone wished for chocolate. Someone wished for World Peace. It was all standard answers.

Until one.

“I don’t want my brother, Arthur to be alone for Christmas again,” the boy whispered in my ear, “Please Santa! That’s what I want for Christmas…” He thought on it for a moment, before ultimately speaking again, “Even more than an armada.”

I looked at the boy. Arthur’s little brother. I glanced back up at Arthur, who was waiting a few steps away, looking unamused as always. He was looking down at his phone, completely unaware of what was happening.

“Don’t worry,” I gave the boy a wink. “I’ll do what I can.”

Sure, there were more kids. There were more things that they wanted, but nothing else even compared to that.

The next day, I was at my real job. When I was leaving, Arthur happened to be going at the same time. I decided I would just ask him. It’s not like we weren’t friends. We had lunch together often, and sometimes went out for drinks.

“Hey Arthur,” I called, my voice awkwardly cracking.

“Yes?” He questioned, turning to face me.

“Do you maybe want to spend Christmas together?” I asked him.

I could tell from his face that he wasn’t expecting it, but he didn’t look repulsed by it. He smiled at me. “I’d love to.”
