tbh kylo not being a 'chris' is 95% of my attraction to his character, like the uber masc superhero characters do nothing for me

I feel you, Nonnie.

I’m not interested in like shitting on anyone’s looks (and the Chrises are all beautiful men), but my preference has always been more determined by personality than what they physically look like. So, if I’m emotionally invested in a character, that’s going to determine my attraction. Are they compelling? Are they interesting? Can I understand their motivations? I don’t give af about whether they’re “good” or not. 

And, well, I’ve never much been into like whatever they try to push as an ideal in Hollywood. All of my crushes were super bishy anime heroes (esp the tortured ones omg) and goblin kings. I’m going to assume that has something to do with the fact that these characters are actually created to appeal to women (the feminine gaze), as opposed to many superhero types that are actually there to appeal to men as a power fantasy (not that this is bad, but it gets kind of tiresome when it happens all the fucking time). So, when you get a character like Kylo, who was absolutely 100% designed, characterized, and acted with women in mind, you get certain sectors of the fandom that don’t seem to either understand/like that it doesn’t appeal to them.

I’m also really tired with people saying that Adam isn’t attractive. He’s 6′3, broad af, has soulful eyes, an adorable smile, gorgeous hair--and the lipshandsfeetlegsallofit. And his acting is so fucking spectacular it sometimes leaves me breathless (and I say this as someone who was a fan before SW, so before anyone gets in there to tell me I only like him because of KR. UNTRUE. I LOVE THAT ASSHOLE ADAM SACKLER TOO). 

Maybe he’s not attractive to the men who seem to consistently interview him, but it’s fucking insulting some of the shit they say about this face. LOOK AT HARRISON FORD when he was younger, they literally look like they could be father and son, and I don’t see any of them shitting on Indie (GEE I wonder why. Maybe it’s because his characters were designed to appeal to a male power fantasy). 

COME ON. Stop conflating a dislike of Kylo Ren with a dislike of an actor playing a part. I say, even though I know it won’t stop it, and that it will continue to happen as we’re given villains who are more nuanced and have actual characterization (which is fucking bait for me, Nonnie). Also, I wish more people would stop letting Hollywood/celebrity/anyone tell you who’s attractive and who’s not. 

The world is full of beautiful, unique faces and that should be celebrated and it sure tf will be by me!

Do you think they'll introduce a new bad guy, or will Kylo remain the big villain (until redemption)? How do you think J.J. will balance giving Ben a redemption arc and still maintaining a good versus evil conflict until the end?

Hey Nonnie, 

I’m relatively certain there will be some minor baddie introductions, but as far as the “big bad” is concerned, I’m certain that will be Hux. Kylo’s journey towards redemption will be an internal struggle, versus an external one, and I expect there to be the same kind of intimacy between him and Rey as was in TLJ and TFA (as in, there’s an A plot concerning the Force, and a B plot concerning the Resistance vs the FO). Ben’s struggle will be primarily with himself and coming to terms with the light inside of him (and dealing with the choices he’s made), as well as the dark (AAAAAAAAAAAND hopefully the same will go for Rey hohohohoho).

I’ve spoken about it before, but my money’s on a nice, ole betrayal from Mr. Hux. These predictions are from a few months ago, but I don’t think much has changed. I expect some shenanigans, and then a big fucking fight at the end + celebration party after = the end. We’ll see how/if things change as far as my predictions go when the trailer comes out (UGHHH), but I’m also open to being surprised (in fact, I’d prefer that). And I’m sure I’ll be wrong about a lot, but it’s fun to guess :)

Omgggg. I quit Twitter a few months back because it just made me so upset (it’s so much just screaming at the choir and into the void) and now Tumblr is forcing me go back?! I had to redownload the app and reset my password, just so I could follow you so I don’t lose you and your A+ Star Wars and Reylo content! Hopefully Tumblr will get it’s act together!

After last time's cliff-gate, I have become super skeptical of trusting any leaks, lol. I take everything with a grain of salt. We all believed the cliff spoilers and got all hyped. The people leaking it last time even had pictures from the set to prove they were there, and they said they saw Mark fighting off the Knights of Ren and Adam/Daisy dueling with each other. I hope this person who leaked IX details is not lying. I'm kinda disappointed about Rey's saber haha.

Yeah, this is pretty much the best way to be lol. Have fun with it, but don’t get your heart set on anything (because things change during filming all the time/the interpretations are wrong).

Same LOL. I mean, I’m a KotoR fan, so I was pulling for a double-bladed Bastia callback HAHA. But that’s just my preferences showing. I’m sure they’ll have a reason for whatever she ends up with (and who knows if she’ll end up with what she has/if these leaks are true).

At any rate, I try to have fun and not get too worked up over it because I don’t need the extra stress lol.

I saw someone on YouTube hate-watching the amazing Nerdist Reylo video and I actually felt kind of bad. When you refuse to embrace the central core of Star Wars, you'll have no new content for your channel and can only get views by hating on others.

There's this whole culture of hating on shit to be popular that I just can't fucking stand. It's ridiculous. I barely have time for the shit that I do enjoy, let alone enough time to sit around and spend time with the things I claim to hate.

I tell you the fuck what, if I dislike something, I might bitch a little, but then I let it go. I certainly don't spend 3+ years making fucking videos about it. Especially something like a ship or a movie. JFC, there are real problems in the world and my life, I really don't understand the inclination to focus on something so benign. It's a space movie for fucking kids, just get over it. SW isn't going to give you your fucking childhood back and expecting a movie to give you the same feelings that you had as a child is unrealistic and impossible.

Their memories are clouded by nostalgia and it's impacting their ability to either move on or enjoy the new series.

And then there are the people who get popular by being hateful. Fuck that. I block them and I do my best not to give them the attention they crave. Part of the reason these shits exist is because of people linking and bitching about what they do. It's like the people who boycott a musician by purchasing and burning their records. They have your money (or your clicks and time) so what do they care lol.

Anyways, this is in no way directed towards you, Nonnie. Just been a long life in fandom and it gets tiring seeing the same shit in a different pile.

You do what makes you happy, Nonnie. And fuck the haters. The less attention they get, the better.

Counteract this garbage by reblogging your favorite artists and creators. Tell the creators how much you love their work. These people might be loud, but they certainly don't have to be the only voices being heard. Save what you love 😘

Honestly, I don't remember much being right from them concerning TLJ. Bothan Spy was way more reliable and MSM did have some shots from Ireland? But nothing much story wise that I remember? Anyone else have anything to add?

They had the entire script of VII before the movie, that I remember, but as far as VIII? I think I remember them being once of the first to speculate (and I mean first mainstream podcasters, reylos were speculating about it since VII) that Rey and Kylo had something more going on than just villain vs hero.

We'll have to see, I guess. Anyways, I'm gonna eat my chilly Gansito and try not to worry lol.

Were there more than 2 trailers for TFA and TLJ? Because the TLJ “teaser” trailer (Rey gasping, “its time for the Jedi to end”, etc) came out around Celebration with the teaser poster and the full trailer was out in October. So maybe they’ll drop a title/other hints earlier than Celebration, but only release a “teaser” with Celebration, and then sometime in the fall will be the full trailer. God, marketing hasn’t started yet and I’m already stressed.

TFA had a REALLY EARLY teaser trailer, whereas TLJ had one at celebration (which was a long wait, OML and there was only like a split second of Kylo which was such ass; I was so disappointed NGL. Yeah, he’s my favorite character, IDGAF anymore lol). Probably had something to do with the fact that TFA was the first SW movie in a while, so they kicked up the nostalgia/hype a little (I cried when I saw it--it’s a great fucking trailer).

I think it’ll be like you said--with the teaser at Celebration and then the regular trailer, in addition to the promo stuff, and then the full trailer in like October (UGHHHHHHHHHHHH). I don’t know if you saw this link, but it lays it out pretty neatly, except that I disagree that we’ll get a trailer before celebration (THOUGH I WOULD LOVE TO BE WRONG lol).

UGHHHH. I know some people are all WAAA STAR WARS FATIGUE. But I’m all like, can you just stick that shit right in my soul???? OK???? PLEASE?? Is there like a holodeck for star wars??????? I want to go to there. And never leave.

Thank god I have other fandoms to mess around with or I’d be more of a mess during the wait (LBR, I’m already a mess lol).
